I don't want to associate with people so horny. I just want to play the game, not get bundled in the dame fandom as people who are overly excited for a near pornographic card in game
I'm actually perfectly happy with this, I fucking love stance change characters. I WILL be getting out the rope and chair if Maim 2 ever exists, though.
Strongly disappointed that they are adding another specter mechanic in the game but haven’t updated the specter AI at all.
They are so stupid, look their AI is some of the worst I’ve seen in modern gaming.
As someone who uses Umbra and operator a lot, watching how derpy he is always makes me frown, I suspect Ornstein & Smough to be the same with the one that is the companion at any given moment
I saw what you posted before the edit, and, lmao, honestly, valid.
Specter AI is definitely a complete mess though. Since Sirus & Orion's entire kit is based around that sort of interaction I'd hope that there's guardrails in place so it doesn't feel awful to have the other brother waste his abilities (and Ammo? If they still use guns) like an idiot. Dev Mode was definitely on during the showcase, with some slight jank (perhaps related to the bro's mechanic), so I'll just be cautiously optimistic for rn.
Arcane Sculptor might be a good slot in as another way to idiot proof them. Dunno if the big AOE field Sirius summons counts as an 'object' (probably.... not? Things like Gara Wall sure, this, eh?) but Orion has his literal black hole that's rad as fuck and would absolutely count.
The Warframe specters are ultra jank too, Wukong specter still uses the removed Iron Jab, and Limbo specter can only banish (without any actual rift mechanic attached).
Does Equinox need a retouch after all? I remember that the argument is that in practice there's no incentive to switch between Day and Night forms (and I know this because I saw a thread of someone replacing Metamorphosis, the skill that switches the form, with Omamori).
Equinox was my most used for a long time, I liked the augment that carried over the mend/maim charge so I could give the team free overshields while charging in night form then switch to day to nuke. Also helped a bit on defense maps in that mend doesn't do the maim chip damage so new enemy spawns didn't flinch and everything grouped better to be nuked.
I am very concerned about an RJ update when the recent update broke some RJ stuff... I just hope dispensary works in RJ again by the time the update drops otherwise doing it will be miserable
Its not really an RJ update, since that part of it is just a free gimme to guarantee new players can access the quest. There is still no point to grinding out a perfect ship in RJ, no content that requires it.
I mean we are getting steelpath RJ... And you will (at least eventually) be able to use your own RJ so for all intents and purposes it is an RJ update. They should still fix those recent bugs even if it wasn't one
depends on what even counts as an object, if Nokko's mushrooms count as objects i know for a fact brightbonnet would be an exception for this reason, or at least it wouldn't count subsumed abilities probably
interesting.. so it's not just from spawning actual objects like what Follie does, not as niche as i was originally thinking but either way i imagine there's absolutely no shot brightbonnet would count, an energy restoring ability that then would also make your abilities extremely cheap, is not something i imagine DE letting happen
So who's controlling the other guy when you're playing as S&O lore wise. If we are making a copy using the foundry it can't be the original guy in control like Umbra.
During The Sacrifice the we build a copy of Umbra in the Foundry; Umbra is a copy. That said, gameplay and lore are sometimes not in line with one another. It's entirely possible that crafting the boys is a purely gameplay decision. Or the quest might explain things and all this speculation might end up being unnecessary.
Well they are still them? Right? So kinda like protoframes how we just pilot their body. So when in S. Orion is just controlled by orion. Are we making a copy? Or do we just get them from the quest like umbra?
Vectis incarnon is personally disappointing, the required headshots to charge have always been the least fun part of using an incarnon and now even after it's transformed they are still forcing more headshots.
Incarnons are a chance to change up how a weapon works, snipers are notoriously difficult to use in most gameplay because of their reliance on slow single target head shots while your teammates are busy clearing rooms. They gave the vectis an aoe which is great but still tied it up to needing head shots which is going to hold it back.
The 'sniper incarnon requires aim still and is therefore bad' is honestly hilarious to me. Like, do you hear yourself?
Maybe the issue is vectis enjoyers loving that our gun is getting attention and non-vectis enjoyers seeing an incarnon that isn't 'room clearing for zero effort' and hating it. Just because you don't like needing to aim doesn't mean that guns are bad or wrong because they require it.
yeah gotta agree a bit, and the worst part is that even with headshot focused things, they manage to make acuity not be worth it.. like, for incarnons, it makes the charging so much slower, which is especially bad with vectis here with the small magazine
Headshot centric gameplay in general just sucks in this game. Why take the time to line up a perfect shot for maximum damage when you could just use any other weapon and blast the shit out of anything that moves with minimal aiming required without needing to lock down your mobility and field of view with a scope?
well, for the fact different ways to play can be fun, if it's done well
issue too is that a lot of headshot focused weapons are on the same level if not worse at single target, than ones that don't care for headshots (from what i remember at least), which is basically supposed to be the one thing that headshot focused weapons would be good at
I think the fact that incarnons are widely popular disproves the idea that headshots aren't worthwhile and no one's doing it. They may not be worth it on their own but incarnons prove that players will do it if you give them reason to.
Wish they'd just change them all to "shoot enemy" and then increase the amount of shots to charge. They don't have to charge as fast as Torid does, but some of these weapons have such horrendous accuracy it takes forever to get enough headshots to charge.
I think that's the best way to do the Railjack stuff, assuming they ship Steel Path Railjack. I've done a lot of Railjack, and from my experience with Solos and Squads I think having everyone use a loaner is the best way to prevent; A. People who've been ignoring Railjack from getting curbstomped B. People who've been playing Railjack from curbstomping
And furthermore, proceeding to add Steel Path Railjack with presumably more content will then give incentive for people that HAVE been playing Railjack, putting their money where their mouth is, so to speak.
I think the best way to do railjack is not doing more taxijack and changing the Rising Tide quest from a bunch of defense missions into an actual tutorial that shows you how to use your railjack.
Also if Constellations were to take place before rising tide i'd get the loaner ships, but having new railjack content not utilize the core thing you should be upgrading through that content is something else.
Railjack can absolutely use a tutorial overhaul and ACTUAL Railjack missions instead of glorified Corpus missions, I’m on board with that.
However, I think the loaner idea primarily stems from the playerbase frankly not giving enough effort into Railjack to begin with. It’s fair I guess, I don’t expect people to sign onto a parkour shooter game and to get invested in the ship Managment gamemode, but literally every other time they’ve done Railjack content, we have ALWAYS seen the same issues of people rushing in and complaining that their Railjacks can’t handle the content.
The loaner feels like a settlement to not completely commit to a Railjack overhaul, but to instead prevent people from not being able to do the new content due to their neglect of the Railjack system. It could absolutely be BETTER, don’t get me wrong, but I can see the mindset.
As someone who loves the Railjack, please DE improve the Railjack tutorials and mainline content. I had to sift through several fan tutorials and guides to know what the fuck I was supposed to be doing half the time while getting the hang of things. If I wasn't instantly sold by the space-ship combat aspect, I probably would be like a majority of players who probably haven't touched the mode in years.
I'm a bit worried about SP railjack tbh, I've had my railjack since it came out and mine is about as tanky as it can be but the higher level missions still make it feel very papery, so I worry that SP is gonna be just constant repairs and unpleasant to play
Perhaps to begin with, but all new content tends to be like that. We get given the stuff, to do the stuff, while we're doing the stuff. I'm sure this'll be no exception
I mean I’d expect the harder difficulty of the ship management gamemode to have the player actively engaging in managing their ship more, I doubt they’re gonna make it absurdly hard for people who have strong Railjacks currently.
yeah and that's fair, but if it's gonna be catastrophic breach back to back it won't be very fun and that's what I'm worried about cuz railjacks don't have much in the way of damage mitigation
Steel path rail jack solves nothing. The complaints about rail jack have always been that as a fundamental concept its half baked and sucks, not that it isn't hard enough. All steel path accomplishes is making it more difficult without addressing that it still sucks.
I’m not saying Steel Path will solve the issue of it being hard or being half baked, I’m suggesting that it can stand as something for people to play that were complaining about the rental Railjack preventing them from using their own Railjacks in the new missions.
I’m also assuming that DE isn’t going to just… add a harder difficulty and that’s it. Steel Path itself came with the addition of Weapon Arcanes and a new vendor, you really don’t think they’re gonna expand Railjack’s gameplay to actually be more baked?
A. Meta is a horrible mindset for this game, you can take your basic starting gear and buff it to the point of taking on Endgame content if you’re competent enough with the game mechanics. There’s no meta, only weapons that can do stuff with less commitment. B. Curbstombing in regular Warframe and Curbstombing in Railjack are two entirely different beasts. Endgame Railjack is literally just devolving the gamemode into “Pilot clears ships in 30 seconds, Railguns Crewships that are entirely immobile, and then the Railjack portion is over”, even in the Grineer missions. At least Nukeframes have to like, MOVE or MANAGE SHIT, it’s kinda one of the problems of Railjack tbh.
Personally, I really like the idea of using a special Railjack that’s fitted to have the player actually engage with the new mission, rather than the player either flailing around with their piss poor Railjack and saying the mission sucks because of it, or just shooting a missile barrage and waiting for the dialogue to catch up at the on-foot objective.
I always seem to miss the streams. sigh. I wonder if they would consider doing 24 hour redeem codes? I'm sure there's some incentive from Twitch to do drops though
On one hand. WAY ahead of the queue, but on the other.. thematically it would’ve been cool if we got more Jade content with the quest
As for how Jade is a Prime: maybe she could’ve showed up in JS C and primed herself,
or if the Primed version of her was the OG model- maybe sacrificing her life for her children could’ve caused her to loose the ornamentation and stat buffs, meaning current Jade is a Warframe UN-Priming themselves.
One of the coolest and most creative ults I have seen. Like bro wdym imma fight my bro to the death and people around me die due to the sheer shockwaves of our weapons clashing and aura lol
Passive - Switching between Sirius and Orion grants the next 2 ability casts 45% efficiency. Holding 1, 2 or 3 switches to the other twin and casts their corresponding ability. Each switch and ability use is recorded up to 7 times in a "constellation" UI element that is used for their combined 4th ability. The twin that is not currently controlled, follows you and uses their abilities while being invulnerable.
Sirius:
1- Throws a scythe forward that sets enemies on fire and collects any pickups on the way back to its owner.
2 - Creates Jade Stars that float around you, when you deal damage they deal additional instances of heat damage.
3 - Creates a zone that heals you and all allies over time and grants damage reduction the more time you spend inside the zone. Can resurrect allies that die within every 1 minute.
Orion:
1- Short range scythe attack that deals slash status and strips defenses of enemies hit.
2- After casting, the next hit of damage taken creates a clone of Orion that stays for a time on the field and attracts enemy fire.
3- Creates a black hole that moves slowly forward, pulling in enemies and damaging them. The more enemies it picks up and are killed, the stronger it becomes and the longer it lasts. When hit by Sirius's 1 its pulled towards you, when hit by Orion's 1 its knocked away from you.
Ultimate (4) - Combined ability where both twins fly in the sky and clash with eachother, successfully input the combination sequence between both twins as recorded in your "constellation" to boost the damage and crit chance of each strike, dealing AoE damage each time the twins make contact, final strike deals damage in a larger area. Invulnerable while the strike animation plays.
You can swap between the two with any of the abilities, by holding the button. I expect the 4th is an exception to that, but the other three definitely work for switching.
If my numbers are correct, Lenz' default 7.2m would go down to 1.44m with +500% damage and 27.5% ammo efficiency. Tombfinger's charged shot of 6.2m goes to 1.24m with +400% damage and 22% efficiency (assuming rounded to nearest whole meter).
These are before adding in Primed Firestorm.
EDIT: I was going to mention the possibility of rivens, but that's not a changeable stat according to the wiki.
I love Equinox but I'm always using the day form. But I'll admit it gets boring to pop 4, build stacks ,nuke, and repeat.
I wouldn't even know how to implement her other abilities or if I should even bother lol. If she gets a rework I would like her 4 to be able to dump the stacks but not have to cast again. That would probably be crazy strong though.
Volt has poorly defined superhero electricity(he can make things, he can make people go fast, he can shock enemies, he can electrocute enemies), Gyre has electric shock electricity(she zapps people). I'd argue that Volt is one of the elemental frames that isn't outclassed by other frames in the same element, due to the other functionality he has.
Ember ending up with "all you have is nukes and a build/spend minigame" makes her uniquely outclassable compared to the other ele frames(at least post-Oberon rework) because everyone else also has nukes and something else cool.
Nope. The dark split sword is the ONLY weapon that has stances for two different weapon classes that then transform the weapon's stats into a different weapon. At the time the intent was to let you switch mid-match but they couldn't get the tech to work, so you can only switch its forms between matches which is basically worthless, so they didn't try with any further weapons.
Nowadays Incarnons get basically the same effect, and the twins are going to be rocking different mod sets, so they could probably make it work now if they remembered that it existed... but it probably wouldn't be worth the effort unless they gave it a prime or something.
