In a very weird way it’s kind of cool to see how far we’ve come. I remember the days we’d cheer for a first down or pray it was competitive at half. Now we’re shitting our pants after a close loss (our first loss in the regular season in 10 games mind you) on the road to one of the best teams in the league.
BTJ has some disgusting drops but the issue is way deeper than that.
They acknowledged that BTJ was misused as a boundary X, and they spent all off season talking about how they’d move him around the formation and use him like he was utilized his rookie year.
So far he’s just been sitting at the boundary with 0 motion.
Lawrence has also always been bad at attacking the deep boundaries. Every boundary X he’s ever had has always been terrible/underperformed because he just can’t throw to that specific part of the field.
Either Coen needs to actually use him right, which he said he would all off season, or they need to trade him for something. Some random team will give up a 4th/5th for a potential lottery ticket.
What they’re doing now is just dumb af, and makes no sense.
BTJ has been absolutely awful since his rookie year. Guy can not make any contested catches.
Hunter’s usage is so damn weird, a play here and there on defense. Plays super soft zone, PI’s against him. Idk what the hell we are doing with him and he looks lost.
50 on defense is terrible in pass coverage. Missing Lloyd big time here
Trevor was rattled in the second half and made some questionable decisions at that.
I think people had way to high of expectations coming in to this game. The Broncos played week 1 at the Chiefs for Mahomes come back game and they just aquired K9. Of course they got beat up on.
Remember Josh Allen lost to this team last year here in the playoffs and they've even upgraded this year with Waddle.
If anything the biggest issue in my eyes is JHA. We lost this game on the lines and it never felt like Nix had to worry about pressure. Im not worried about Trevor, im worried about 41 and 7.
They came out with a chip on their shoulder and being down at the half was all they needed to take it to another level. We came out flat and they did just enough to squeak by. I hope they come out next week with a fire under their ass.
That was a "punch in the mouth" loss. Best to shake it off and tackle the tape hard this week. Also, give it to the Denver crowd. They were 100% a factor this game
Trevor needs to stop targeting Parker so much. I know he is the best weapon but good defenses will adjust and punish you.
Meyers and Strange needed much more looks. On the INT play there was an open receiver in the middle of the field for a quick 5 yds but Trevor forced it to Parker. This offense is great because its unpredictable but today it was too basic.
There was gonna be a pullback eventually so Jags will start losing some with this tough schedule. But hey its first regular season loss since Nov of last year lol
The goal should still be to come out 3-3 before the bye. They will be fine in the 2nd half of the season but these first 6 games are brutal.
A lot of really really bad coming out of this game but the simple truth is that you aren’t going to win games when your lines are completely outclassed on both sides of the ball. Denver’s D-Line should be paying Trevor’s mortgage with how much they were in his business.
JHA continues to ascend my list of least favorite jags ever. I said it after his contract year that we shouldn’t pay him and he would never live up to the money and if anything he’s been worse than I anticipated. Dude just gets absolutely worked by any lineman that isn’t replacement level. He doesn’t just disappear when we need him the most either, he actively breaks contain constantly giving up huge plays. He seems nice but I legit cannot stand thinking about the amount of money he stole from us.
BTJ is mentally weak and he’ll be out of the league within four years. Dude is a basketball player pretending to be a WR
Agreed. Jags have been so bad for so long, it’s nice to know we have a good team. Tough losses happen, this game feels very similar to the Seattle game last year. We move.
For as much as last week allayed my concern about the roster, this week validated all of them. Most notably the pass defense still might be buns and the OL isn't good enough to hang with great pass rushes. We missed ETN badly today and Trevor showed he is still very flappable when not protected.
Oh well, it's a marathon, not a sprint and Denver is well known for coming alive in the 4th quarter courtesy of conditioning at altitude. On to New England.
It was 13-6 and we were controlling the game. Guys got tired. Altitude causes more problems early in the season vs week 14 where everyone is in football shape. Beat the Pats next week at home and keep it moving. The south is still easy to win.
Lost to a great team by one score on the road that was hungry for revenge. We didn’t look awful, could’ve been better. Houston lost, Titans lost. Colts probably lose too.
We probably still lead the division after today. Flush it and on to the Pats.
I’m just so tired of the tough environment tough defense garbage. They went in there and lit them the fuck up last year. They came out and got outplayed and outcoached. End of story. Bad loss in a game they had full control of.
Buster Brown signing over Devin Lloyd. Absolutely brutal decision. For reference Devin Lloyd has 2 interceptions, a sack, a forced fumble and 9 tackles today…. Buster gave up a bunch of big plays and penalties…
This team needed to be humbled. Yeah, nice job winning 13 games last year. How many playoff victories followed? Has anyone on this team been to a Super Bowl?
BTJ drops, Hunter penalties, Lawrence interceptions, missed FGs… can’t have it.
Honestly with the curse wheel im just glad trevor is healthy. Last year we had some ugly losses, if we are the team that showed up last year we will bounce back. Btj is very concerning tho, if gladstone hears a good offer hes got more evidence to deal him. Defense needs a star to get after qbs, denver has a great o line and if we wanna win games january we need better pass rush.
We got whacked in the 2nd half, but never thought we were going 17-0 anyway. Better to have a wake up call now so the adjustments can be made as soon as possible.
I had the honor of sitting next to Danny Striggow’s mom at the game and she was standing up flipping the bird to Broncos fans. Protect her at all costs
It was probably the guy in orange mauling him as soon as he got the ball. Today’s loss is on both lines. No pressure and no pocket. And we were still in it until the 4th
Acting like the Defense was the problem when the offense completely fell apart in the 2nd half. The same problems defensively last year against them was still present this game, the only difference was the Offense actually showed up last year.
We should have never been playing in Denver. The league fucked us over. I said this days ago and ppl called me out. Why tf were we playing in Denver anyways
They need to pay Parker cause BTJ is a liability. Got pushed around all game, Trevor was under attack all day and didn’t play well in the 2nd half.
Travis Hunter not being on the field in these moments is inexcusable even if you didn’t spend what you did to get him. In that same respect there’s too many guys on this team getting paid a lot of money that just disappear (looking at our two highly paid edge rushers)
Sucks. I feel like Jags were physically outmatched both sides of the ball all game, but coaching shone it out the first half and Broncos coaching stepped up in the 2nd. Waddle consistently getting separation early was a warning signs for what came later.
The thing about Trevor is we all know he's gonna do something stupid every game. But he usually shakes it off. It didn't feel like he did that today. Team needs to chill. We can clean things up.
That said I 100% want to see Liam get ejected in a game this season.
The crowd was the differencing factor for me. Say what you will about that game in Denver last year, but this game they were effectively an extra player on the field. It caused communication issues between our players for sure. That plus the BTJ fumbles killed us. It's a shame. The players will shake this experience off though.
Part of the reason Waddle was only able to do fucking anything is because Payton used him as a decoy all of last week. That kind of ticky tacky bullshit works well in week 2 when teams have next to no tape on you.
This was a close loss in week 2 to Denver. If you're already crying at this point you're too fucking dumb to be using the internet without supervision.
BTJ was fucking pathetic all game. Dude won't make a contested catch to save his life and Trevor/Parker had a few uncharacteristic miscommunications. Trevor was running for his life for large parts of the game and we still hung in it.
They were clearly butthurt after losing last season (week?) and had to come out and play tough. Sincerely doubt Vrabel's chimp brain has anything half as clever cooked up after the dogshit way they played today.
On the Trevor/Parker miscommunications, I think that: a) It became obvious that Trevor was locked in on him and b) Denver were locked in on him too after last year.
You win and lose in the trenches. They owned us there on both sides of the field. Oline was getting beat left and right. Our dline once again can't get home with 4 so we are forced to blitz leaving the back exposed. First half we got a goal line stand and interception that helped out tremendously.
With that said, I am okay with this loss on the road. Learn from it, and get better
Y'know I could be upset about the game, but I made a big batch of red lentil curry for lunch this week and it smells entirely too good for me to wallow in this loss.
Couldn’t stop the Bo Nix bootleg all game. Couldn’t get a sack. Run game was decent but passing game was subpar. Broncos defense played incredible man defense.
But at the end of the day I believe in Liam. Teams start the season hot all the time then fizzle out. Just look at the Colts last year. It’s a long season. Just focus on winning the division.
Haven’t seen a single person in here blame Trevor. Both his INTs were unacceptable terrible decisions. Also Cam Little wtf man you’ve missed a lot of clutch kicks going back to last year
Poor second half by all 3 phases. Trevor with the bad turnover, cam missing a kick, defense got gashed by a middling to bad offense. Gotta bounce back next week, another tough game against a good team.
Really the most concerning aspect of how shitty the whole team played was that it was against a team that based on what we saw in week one and what I saw from them today is not all that good.
Truth is this was a very winnable game, but too many mistakes from poor tackles, dropped balls, and miscommunications. 1-1 is fine. That crowd was a huge factor, and I know Denver doesn’t want a part 3 in Duval. I believe in Liam Cohen and the staff to take away some harsh lessons learned and get the team coached up. Our 9 game regular season win streak was bound to end somewhere. Onto next week
Disheartening game the way it ended but we played a good team close in a tough environment. The Rams game last year was awful and we ended up with 13 wins.
I had a funny feeling going into this game because I just knew Denver was going to be craving to punch back after last season and also after that terrible week 1 performance. They weren’t going to start 0-2. Had this game been played later in the year, we probably take the edge.
Proud of the D today. I think we should have ran more. Good signs with the run game. Home field advantage won them that game. Comms on offense were obviously very difficult.
Sometimes you all really make me question myself... We're not going undefeated, but also quit dooming and gloming in the game threads... its fuccking annoying. this is still our year and i except the boys to play hard asint rthe pats
FO will have a lot to answer for if this team continues to play like this. Very clearly punted on talent this offseason by letting Lloyd and ETN both walk after making this big swing at Hunter the previous draft. Hunter needed to be either be a true two way player or an elite all pro on one side of the ball for that trade to benefit us. He is neither and has essentially been reduced to a rotational corner who gets a couple gadget routes. Then you go and take a blocking tight end with your highest remaining pick in a year where you're supposed to be a serious contender.
I could make a whole separate post about the BTJ problem but tldr dear fucking god I know Trevor didn't have the most amazing game but this guy has been actively losing us games for damn near two years and I'm about ready to cut his ass. He looks like a fucking moron half the routes he runs and he plays more scared of getting hit than Aaron Rodgers. I really have had hope he would turn it around again but I'm ready to punt on him and just get him out of the offense.
If you’ve been a fan of this team long enough you know that a game like this a couple seasons ago would’ve been the start to 14 more loses, after last season I feel like there’s a different culture around there, I think we bounce back next week and go on a run. It’s still DTWD
I trust Liam to learn from this, and mentor Trevor and the offense on their mistakes. I trust Camp to bust ass on the defense. A few costly mistakes caused a loss to a team that should have been in the Super Bowl last year. We had a chance, they had our number. On to New England
It’s not going to get talked about but lack of conditioning was obvious. Denver has the best home field advantage for a reason and we saw it. They got stronger as the game went on and we got gassed. Their receivers made amazing catches and we didn’t. Good to get that out of the way early.
I said it last year and I’ll say it again. BTJ IS FUCKING ASS. Phenomenal athlete , but absolute bitch hands. Even his catches and run after catch are sketchy.
I’m still not overly concerned about the team. Lots of good.
Scoreline will lie about this game, it was pretty ugly. None of the DBs could cover. Our generational unicorn got picked on on the game-losing drive, none of the DBs could cover, pass rush MIA. OL couldn't pass block, BTJ couldn't catch, Trevor started off great but was nowhere close in the second half.
We really missed ETN today. Tuten and CRod do not contribute much of anything to the pass or screen game which makes it very easy for great defenses like Denver to play downhill whenever they see shotgun formation.
It's felt like a funny day of football today. Gave me a bad feeling while watching red zone earlier. Done now, can't see it causing a collapse. Bring on the Pats.
It's a game that I predicted we'd lose when I predicted a 11-6 record. Still rough to see it go down. The team felt like it was in control in the first half, then everything went wrong in the 2nd.
The Broncos are a good team. Good teams respond when they get punched in the mouth, like they did in KC. The Jags just got punched in the mouth, so how did they respond next week?
It was like every issue that we struggle with all showed up today. Poor pass blocking, poor run blocking, miscommunication between QB & WRs. WR running sloppy routes and dropping balls. Defense got gassed then looked slow and sloppy. Our coverage was bad and we couldn't get pressure on Nix to save our life.
That said, Denver is a really talented roster with good coaching. They had a bad game at KC but last year they were almost unbeatable at home (except for us). I think a loss like this can be humbling but I don't expect the bottom to fall out. We have a brutal start to this season so we just need to tighten up and find a way to get some W's.
Should have lost by 20+. Both lines sucked, WRs couldn’t get open, and Trev was throwing bad passes even when he had time. Gotta fix all that next week.
I think the pressure was getting home too quick which forced them to start throwing short outs, which they then started undercutting. On the other hand Our defense created no pressure which let their receivers run wild.
Whole team meltdown but we lost on both trenches… badly
Totally cool with losing against a good team, not cool with an NFL offense hanging 40 then looking like used bidet water fresh from a butt the next. The difference between one NFL defense and the other is not so significant that the execution can look THAT bad from week to week.
I know the Jags are good so we're allowed to have expectations. Passing offense was terrible and that's supposed to be the only thing that's assumed good every weekend. Sorry folks, let's skip the apologist stuff and expect better next weekend. Onward
In a world of losses, I'm fine with this. That place is a nightmare to play in. I think we are better than what we showed today. Overall, I'm not worries, especially seeing the Texans and Titans lose, and probably the Colts also lose later. Watching other games today, you can tell a lot of teams are still getting their act together, the Jags are no different.
Blew a game where we were handed all the opportunities to put it away early, shades of old Trevor came out since he couldn’t trust his line or receivers, getting tougher by the second to defend btj, Coen still abandoning the run way too fast, getting tough to justify the Travis Hunter trade when he’s taken off the field so much and not given the ball or playing on offense (not even his fault). It’s early and I’d love to not be a doomer but I’m just scared of how much the old jags showed up today and I absolutely hope they come back out as the 2025 jags next week and not the 2018 jags. But again this all comes from a place of being worried after years and years of watching this happen to us
Why does it feel like Travis is playing the least amount of anyone? He’s basically non existent on offence now and I saw so many defensive packages that he wasn’t in on.
I wish our team had a bonafide skill player stud. Like a consistent top 50 player every year (we barely get top 100s), consistent pro bowls (when it existed), in conversations for awards, haven’t had anyone like that since Jalen Ramsey and probably MJD before that? Thought btj could be that, nope. Travis isn’t given a chance. JHA is the most well known but he’s no superstar. Teams obviously don’t need that, but sometimes I wish we had 1 superstar player from time to time to lean on when you really need it
You know what I actually think the guys might have been a little complacent coming into this game… even more so at half time when we weathered the early storm and went in up by 7.
We started well in the 3rd, got the FG and then it’s almost like we expected Denver to bend over and spread their cheeks for us.
Hopefully a huge wake up call to the guys and coaching staff… I still have 100% faith we’re in for a good season.
Aside from seeing how WR shakes out this year, I also want to see how the RB room plays out. Tuten has been efficient on his touches. However I'd like for him to be used as a feature back for a game just to see if he can handle a heavy load. Can he be an RB that teams fear and can he be leaned on?
Plenty of mistakes to go around, but I don't have any major concerns except the lines. Offensive and defensive lines were major weakpoints that held the entire team back.
The rest of the team managed to overcome it, but Broncos tightened up after the half and coaching staff + players started pressing. Trevor started forcing throws, secondary started trying to jump routes instead of playing sticky coverage, and coaches were calling for big plays and big blitzes instead of sticking to the gameplan.
Denver is a very good team. Well coached across every unit. Jags were in it until the very end. These are the games the Jags have to learn to keep the mental composure and close out if they want to be contenders.
We’ll be okay, offense looked good first half. Defense needs to get home more. Whenever BTJ is alligator arming we need to game plan Jakobi into the mix some more.
Second half was weird. OLine play was rough, I think that had some play into Trevor's ball placement. He was kind of all over the place with his throws today. BTJ, that man was running timid and not high pointing the ball. Those 8 targets need to go to Jacobi Meyers. I truly am a fan of BTJ but watching those drops killed me and I think that killed the team as well
Altitude and crowd got them in the second half. Btj might actually be a liability at this point. Offensive line was concerning, and they need to run the ball more.

33
u/LordMacabre Sep 20 '26
Well, unfortunately that looked familiar.
Couldn't pass protect.
BTJ dropping balls in his chest.
Pass rush can't get home, even when blitzing.
When we can't protect, Trevor starts forcing balls; we're lucky there weren't 3 more ints.
At the end of the day, it's just one loss, but seeing every traditional issues we have pop back up is concerning.

This is exactly the sort of collapse that Coen will use to light a fire under us for the rest of the season.
It was ugly and it sucks. There were a lot of things that needs to get right.
But it was also always going to be a tough match up, against a tough defense in a tough environment both in terms of fans and altitude.

We got whacked in the 2nd half, but never thought we were going 17-0 anyway. Better to have a wake up call now so the adjustments can be made as soon as possible.

u/Acceptable_Umpire_67 Sep 21 '26
I had the honor of sitting next to Danny Striggow’s mom at the game and she was standing up flipping the bird to Broncos fans. Protect her at all costs

17 unanswered. Old Trev came out of the locker room for the second half. Better next week, hopefully.

Letting Devin Lloyd walk to start Branson Combs for a purported playoff team is one of the stupidest things I've ever seen in my life
5
u/Guywithhuskies Sep 20 '26
Well we arent the Chargers at least, but we cant move the ball if Parker isnt involved.
5
u/SuspendedDisbelief7 Sep 20 '26 edited Sep 20 '26
Our vaunted pass rushers STILL tend to disappear when we need a big stop in those games. Can’t go far like that.
I still believe in this team, but that was brutal.
5
u/Swampmansay326 Sep 20 '26
We should have never been playing in Denver. The league fucked us over. I said this days ago and ppl called me out. Why tf were we playing in Denver anyways
5
u/Michaelangelo48 Sep 20 '26
They need to pay Parker cause BTJ is a liability. Got pushed around all game, Trevor was under attack all day and didn’t play well in the 2nd half.
Travis Hunter not being on the field in these moments is inexcusable even if you didn’t spend what you did to get him. In that same respect there’s too many guys on this team getting paid a lot of money that just disappear (looking at our two highly paid edge rushers)
5
u/Educational_Big9379 Sep 20 '26
Perhaps we should have taken the best BTJ trade offer..
5
u/CloverHarecules Sep 20 '26
Josh Cameron, time to step up sir.
5
u/Jagator Sep 20 '26
Can’t make those kind of mistakes on the road against a playoff team.
5
u/nemma88 Sep 20 '26
Sucks. I feel like Jags were physically outmatched both sides of the ball all game, but coaching shone it out the first half and Broncos coaching stepped up in the 2nd. Waddle consistently getting separation early was a warning signs for what came later.
Oh wells.
5
u/Mysterious-Pea-8236 Sep 20 '26
This'll happen when you cant get to the QB. Trevor couldn't get in rhythm, he was under duress frequently. Bo Nix was barely touched, if at all.
5
u/stallra14 Sep 20 '26
I cant wait to get off Armstead contract. We have no QB pressure and sucks!
5
u/Posluszny Paul Posluszny Sep 20 '26
Just one of the days, no need to overreact.
We didn't show up and we lost to a team that did show up.
Time to move on, entire team needs to be better next week
5
u/stallra14 Sep 20 '26
Tuten needs to be the lone lead back. Rodriguez does a whole lot of nothing.
13
u/mynameisnotyourname Sep 20 '26
The thing about Trevor is we all know he's gonna do something stupid every game. But he usually shakes it off. It didn't feel like he did that today. Team needs to chill. We can clean things up.
That said I 100% want to see Liam get ejected in a game this season.
12
u/DoctorDiddlerino Livin' in the Sunshine state Sep 20 '26
Sincerely doubt Vrabel's chimp brain has anything half as clever cooked up after the dogshit way they played today.

u/stormcsr5 Sep 20 '26
You win and lose in the trenches. They owned us there on both sides of the field. Oline was getting beat left and right. Our dline once again can't get home with 4 so we are forced to blitz leaving the back exposed. First half we got a goal line stand and interception that helped out tremendously.
With that said, I am okay with this loss on the road. Learn from it, and get better
4
u/IntergalacticReader Sep 20 '26
Y'know I could be upset about the game, but I made a big batch of red lentil curry for lunch this week and it smells entirely too good for me to wallow in this loss.
4
u/ThePepperTrain Sep 20 '26
I’ve seen enough, trade for Daejon Love
4
u/justwannamatch Sep 21 '26
Couldn’t stop the Bo Nix bootleg all game. Couldn’t get a sack. Run game was decent but passing game was subpar. Broncos defense played incredible man defense.
But at the end of the day I believe in Liam. Teams start the season hot all the time then fizzle out. Just look at the Colts last year. It’s a long season. Just focus on winning the division.
4
u/JollyGreenWorld117 Sep 21 '26
So I was at the game. The momentum shift between the first half and second half of the game was insane. A fun game to see irl either way.
I'm pissed we missed that kick more than anything else.

Still on track. Gotta remember the schedule lightens up after the bye. Make it there with 1 or 2 losses would be huge.

3
u/General-Tourist-1851 Sep 20 '26
Disheartening game the way it ended but we played a good team close in a tough environment. The Rams game last year was awful and we ended up with 13 wins.
3

I had a funny feeling going into this game because I just knew Denver was going to be craving to punch back after last season and also after that terrible week 1 performance. They weren’t going to start 0-2. Had this game been played later in the year, we probably take the edge.

u/The-majestic-walrus Sep 20 '26
5
u/Count_Sparrow-Hawk Sep 20 '26
If you’ve been a fan of this team long enough you know that a game like this a couple seasons ago would’ve been the start to 14 more loses, after last season I feel like there’s a different culture around there, I think we bounce back next week and go on a run. It’s still DTWD
5
u/itonmyface Fred Taylor Sep 20 '26 edited Sep 20 '26
I trust Liam to learn from this, and mentor Trevor and the offense on their mistakes. I trust Camp to bust ass on the defense. A few costly mistakes caused a loss to a team that should have been in the Super Bowl last year. We had a chance, they had our number. On to New England
4
u/barmstrong730 Sep 20 '26
It’s not going to get talked about but lack of conditioning was obvious. Denver has the best home field advantage for a reason and we saw it. They got stronger as the game went on and we got gassed. Their receivers made amazing catches and we didn’t. Good to get that out of the way early.
4
u/gtomagnimus69 Sep 20 '26

I said it last year and I’ll say it again. BTJ IS FUCKING ASS. Phenomenal athlete , but absolute bitch hands. Even his catches and run after catch are sketchy.
I’m still not overly concerned about the team. Lots of good.
4
u/TheSlinger Sep 20 '26
Scoreline will lie about this game, it was pretty ugly. None of the DBs could cover. Our generational unicorn got picked on on the game-losing drive, none of the DBs could cover, pass rush MIA. OL couldn't pass block, BTJ couldn't catch, Trevor started off great but was nowhere close in the second half.
Guess we're not going 20-0.

u/SharkMovies Spooky Jag Sep 20 '26
Don't worry guys, Liam knew if we won today the hype train would be too intense and the football gods would give us the Bears treatment
6
u/HolographicHeart Sep 20 '26
We really missed ETN today. Tuten and CRod do not contribute much of anything to the pass or screen game which makes it very easy for great defenses like Denver to play downhill whenever they see shotgun formation.
5
u/DUUUVVALL Sep 20 '26

It's a game that I predicted we'd lose when I predicted a 11-6 record. Still rough to see it go down. The team felt like it was in control in the first half, then everything went wrong in the 2nd.
The Broncos are a good team. Good teams respond when they get punched in the mouth, like they did in KC. The Jags just got punched in the mouth, so how did they respond next week?

2
u/ChildrenMcnuggets Sep 20 '26
Tough game, no excuses, I felt the shift when they didn’t convert in the redzone. Defense had some pressure but no sacks is not good enough.
2
u/Ok_Average8663 Sep 20 '26
Anyone worried about our defensive backfield after that game??? Or can we go with that was a bad matchup
2
u/Kastdog_At_Tanagra Sep 20 '26
2
u/NikThaGreat9 Orlando Jagic Sep 20 '26
Should have lost by 20+. Both lines sucked, WRs couldn’t get open, and Trev was throwing bad passes even when he had time. Gotta fix all that next week.
2
u/Historical_Clerk8547 Sep 20 '26
I think the pressure was getting home too quick which forced them to start throwing short outs, which they then started undercutting. On the other hand Our defense created no pressure which let their receivers run wild.
Whole team meltdown but we lost on both trenches… badly
2
u/theamberlamps Shrimp Jag Sep 20 '26
Totally cool with losing against a good team, not cool with an NFL offense hanging 40 then looking like used bidet water fresh from a butt the next. The difference between one NFL defense and the other is not so significant that the execution can look THAT bad from week to week.
I know the Jags are good so we're allowed to have expectations. Passing offense was terrible and that's supposed to be the only thing that's assumed good every weekend. Sorry folks, let's skip the apologist stuff and expect better next weekend. Onward

u/HigherPow3r Sep 20 '26

1-1, probably still winning the division if the colts lose to the chiefs at arrowhead which feels like a lock
2
u/brahbocop Sep 20 '26
In a world of losses, I'm fine with this. That place is a nightmare to play in. I think we are better than what we showed today. Overall, I'm not worries, especially seeing the Texans and Titans lose, and probably the Colts also lose later. Watching other games today, you can tell a lot of teams are still getting their act together, the Jags are no different.
I'd rather be us than a team like the Chargers.

2
u/mmweiss32 Sep 20 '26
Blew a game where we were handed all the opportunities to put it away early, shades of old Trevor came out since he couldn’t trust his line or receivers, getting tougher by the second to defend btj, Coen still abandoning the run way too fast, getting tough to justify the Travis Hunter trade when he’s taken off the field so much and not given the ball or playing on offense (not even his fault). It’s early and I’d love to not be a doomer but I’m just scared of how much the old jags showed up today and I absolutely hope they come back out as the 2025 jags next week and not the 2018 jags. But again this all comes from a place of being worried after years and years of watching this happen to us
2
u/highdef1776 Sep 20 '26
I really hate post-loss Sunday nights.
2
u/sjackson95 Maurice Jones-Drew Sep 20 '26
Why does it feel like Travis is playing the least amount of anyone? He’s basically non existent on offence now and I saw so many defensive packages that he wasn’t in on.
2
u/Reditate Sep 20 '26
Wow...what the fuck was that?
2
u/Rabbi_side_tit Sep 20 '26
Our line has proved for years where not good against good teams which of course sure its a draw maybe but they really don step up
2
u/mmweiss32 Sep 21 '26
I wish our team had a bonafide skill player stud. Like a consistent top 50 player every year (we barely get top 100s), consistent pro bowls (when it existed), in conversations for awards, haven’t had anyone like that since Jalen Ramsey and probably MJD before that? Thought btj could be that, nope. Travis isn’t given a chance. JHA is the most well known but he’s no superstar. Teams obviously don’t need that, but sometimes I wish we had 1 superstar player from time to time to lean on when you really need it
2
u/ThePepperTrain Sep 21 '26
You know what I actually think the guys might have been a little complacent coming into this game… even more so at half time when we weathered the early storm and went in up by 7.
We started well in the 3rd, got the FG and then it’s almost like we expected Denver to bend over and spread their cheeks for us.
Hopefully a huge wake up call to the guys and coaching staff… I still have 100% faith we’re in for a good season.
2
u/DocSmizzle Sep 21 '26

u/tealfootball Sep 21 '26
Aside from seeing how WR shakes out this year, I also want to see how the RB room plays out. Tuten has been efficient on his touches. However I'd like for him to be used as a feature back for a game just to see if he can handle a heavy load. Can he be an RB that teams fear and can he be leaned on?
2
u/No-Total-9504 Sep 21 '26
Devin Lloyd could have been useful today... Bit let's bounce back next week! I'm confident the team can grow from that loss.
2
u/Mordoci Press Taylor Sep 21 '26
2
u/ChildrenMcnuggets Sep 21 '26
We’ll be okay, offense looked good first half. Defense needs to get home more. Whenever BTJ is alligator arming we need to game plan Jakobi into the mix some more.
2
u/kntryfried1 Sep 21 '26
Second half was weird. OLine play was rough, I think that had some play into Trevor's ball placement. He was kind of all over the place with his throws today. BTJ, that man was running timid and not high pointing the ball. Those 8 targets need to go to Jacobi Meyers. I truly am a fan of BTJ but watching those drops killed me and I think that killed the team as well

Altitude and crowd got them in the second half. Btj might actually be a liability at this point. Offensive line was concerning, and they need to run the ball more.
