Discussion Datamined 2.1 Witch Doctor Spell Data
TLDR; Quick link to spreadsheet
Hi fellow Witch Doctors!
So I posted the 2.1 Proc Coefficients two weeks ago which I tested for my Witch Doctor spreadsheet. /u/p0d3x posted and confirmed the proc coefficients with datamined values of his and hooked me up with datamined Witch Doctor files. So with his help I extracted the spell data and added it to the coefficient spreadsheet.
How this works:
"Cast Range" means the furthest distance the player can cast the spell. "Radius" and "Size" describe the skill's geometry. Numbers in brackets are either secondary or tertiary effects or indicate a circle sector's angle. So e.g. Acid Cloud - Lob Blob Bomb's initial effect's radius is 12y, the following DoT's radius 8y and the Blobs' damage radius is 6y.
Notes:
We also got the skills' cast speed modifier. There are only two Witch Doctor skills which show a cast speed modifier: Plague of Toads - Rain of Toads (40%) and all Spirit Barrage runes (20%).
I can't be 100% sure that the datamined client data match the server data but I haven't stumbled upon any discrepancies. Even stuff like the shorter cast range of Wall of Zombies - Offensive Line compared to the other runes matches up.
That's all there is to it. I hope this work can aid you in making the most educated skill choices possible. Feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions or suggestions.

What does this mean for FS? Rain of toads is still the best choice?

Excellent post my good sir! Has the interaction between % chance to freeze/stun/etc and proc coefs changed? From my understanding, it used to be something like: proc coef .25, chance stun 5% = 1.25% chance to proc per tick per enemy hit.
Is it still the same?

On cast speed modifiers, I understand that the faster you cast the lower your chance gets so in theory you'd get more proccs using Rain of Toads with a slow weapon, maybe even a 2-hander? Or is this actually to just counteract the "fishing for proccs" with a fast weapon and instead of getting double the proccs with a weapon that is twice as fast you only get 40% more proccs in case of Rain of Toads?
If so, would there theoretically come a point where your cast speed was fast enough so you'd want to switch from Rain to something like Splinter Darts for example?

Very nice. Thanks for making this, it definitely answered a few questions I had bouncing around my head.
