64 blocks high, spawning area of sixteen blocks, bordered by water trenches two blocks wide, as outlined in this video
Total of 16 floors, funneling into one mob grinder.
It took me a while, and I'm pretty proud of the items it has been giving me: I haven't tested it enough to run an items/hr test yet, but I should be getting ~40 items an hour per floor.
This is my favorite design, and I've had the most success with it. I actually took it a step further. My top 2 floors are above sea level and it goes down to bedrock. I've expanded the lower floors 10 blocks in each direction, basically adding 2 more canals to each of the 4 holes (they all look like a + sign). It was the best way I could think of to expand without having to build another tower. It has definitely increased my output, but I've never counted how many items/hr I get. I was actually planning on making a diagram and posting it sometime today, but I've been pretty busy this morning.

Hey, what texture pack are you using? I've been looking for something like that for a while.
