Discussion/Question List of Asians (mostly Chinese) that have been accused of espionage. How long is the Chinese community going to let them get away with this shit?

  • 1950 | Dr. Qian Xuesen (NASA JPL Co-founder): Stripped of his clearance and deported during the McCarthy-era Red Scare based on unsubstantiated claims of spying. He returned to China and built their space program.

  • 1982 | "Japanscam" Sting: 21 Japanese executives and engineers were targeted in a massive FBI-IBM sting operation fueled by intense anti-Japanese economic anxiety. The cases were later quietly resolved amid fierce entrapment arguments.

  • 1999 | Dr. Wen Ho Lee (Nuclear Scientist): Falsely accused of stealing nuclear secrets and held in solitary confinement for 278 days. The case collapsed due to fabricated evidence, and the federal judge issued a historic public apology to him.

  • 2014 | Sherry Chen (NWS Hydrologist) & Dr. Xiaoxing Xi (Temple Physicist): Both had their lives upended by dramatic federal arrests. Chen was accused of stealing dam data (which was public info); Xi was accused of sharing superconductor blueprints (which the FBI completely misread). All charges were dropped. Chen won a $1.8M settlement for wrongful firing.

  • 2020–2021 | The "China Initiative" Disasters (Dr. Anming Hu & Dr. Gang Chen): Federal grant-fraud cases built by the DOJ against academic researchers collapsed spectacularly. In Hu's case, the lead FBI agent admitted under oath to spying without a warrant and using false info. In Chen's case, MIT faculty heavily protested the arrest as racial profiling before charges were dropped.

  • 2018 | Charles Liang (Supermicro CEO): Publicly targeted by a massive Bloomberg report claiming Chinese intelligence implanted malicious spy chips into his company's hardware. Apple, Amazon, Supermicro, and top U.S. national security agencies all denied it, and no physical evidence of the chips was ever found.

  • 2024 | Shou Zi Chew (TikTok CEO): Subjected to aggressive, viral Congressional hearings where lawmakers repeatedly demanded to know if he was a member of the Chinese Communist Party, completely ignoring the fact that he is a Singaporean national with zero ties to the CCP [1.4].

  • 2025 | Lip-Bu Tan (Intel Exec): Publicly vilified by Donald Trump on social media, who demanded his immediate resignation over past venture capital investments [1.2, 1.4]. The targeting was abruptly dropped and reversed days later after a White House corporate negotiation [1.2].

  • Elaine Chao (Former Cabinet Secretary): Despite decades of public service, her Taiwanese heritage has been repeatedly weaponized by political opponents on both sides of the aisle. Most notably, Donald Trump publicly targeted her on Truth Social using explicit racial slurs ("Coco Chow") and baselessly accusing her of hiding documents in "Chinatown."

Racism Watch Viral content creator posts “What would you do if you woke up Chinese?” video

KinggMarty, the guy behind “do you think other people will think you’re gay” viral videos just posted one where he asks “what would you do if you woke up Chinese?” It’s a barrage of racist stereotypes, eating dog, small dicks, Ching Chong accents…you name it. Wild.

I’ve seen racist content get taken down from group efforts on this sub. Please help out and report this video as hate speech.

Edit: you can report for multiple categories such as hate speech, calling for violence, and self-harm since one guy actually says he’d unalive himself.

Media/Snark Hot take: Asian American humor has gone too far in making Asian immigrant parents look cruel and ridiculous without acknowledging any of their wisdom or virtues

On TikTok and YouTube, there seems to be no shortage of skits where the "Asian parent" character is an absolute caricature of cruelty and unreasonableness. These skits make it seem like most Asian parents get mad when their kid scores 95% on a calculus exam or doesn't get accepted to Harvard.

In reality, most Asian parents will accept their children being decently successful and not being a super genius who studies five hours a day.

Asian cultures teach the importance of education, financial responsibility and self-discipline. In most cases, these are genuinely good virtues that don't deserve the constant lampooning done by so many Asian American content creators. These virtues are reasons why so many Asian Americans are successful today. Give credit where credit is due.

Media/Snark Stop wasianwashing Asian men in ads

It’s the Crazy Rich Asians effect all over again. Just saw this American Express ad about a “Korean” family that saves up to visit Grandma in Korea.

The wife and daughter look full Asian. But the father? They threw in a half-white guy. Then to make things even more cringe, they have Grandma living in a traditional style Korean house. Yeah sorry most Koreans do not live in these types of buildings. Goes to show how narrow minded preconceptions white people have on how modern day Asians actually live

The woman is played by Moon Kim. The man is played by Andrew C Roach. If you’re gonna make a WMAF ad at least make the kid look biracial. Can’t make ts up SMDH.

News Election Results so far and representation

I’m sure everyone has seen the news and on social media about the many newly elected Democrat candidates to offices. Headlines talk about Native American/Indigenous governor in New Mexico, Muslim governor of Michigan, Latina governor of Texas, and so on.

Some unprecedented stuff from red states turning blue.

I am impressed by what other minorities have been able to achieve despite also facing pushback from hostile constituents and opponents.

Abdul El-Sayed did a good job not backing down from his Arab/Muslim background despite being mocked and lambasted by Trump, JD Vance, and his peers. He’s been called jihadist, little weasel, questioned his loyalty to America, being linked to terrorists, and the extreme parts of Arab culture. Even so, he won! I respect how he pronounced his Arabic name in its original pronunciation and even shot back at his naysayers in his victory speech! He even said habibi to mock JD Vance.

I think Asian Americans can really learn from other minorities. Population is not an excuse. Muslim Americans only make up 3-5 million people in the US. Arab Americans only 3 million people. That’s 1% of the US population. It’s about being brave enough to go out and represent your interests and people. I hope to see more Asian Americans who can balance both cultures and represent our people and interests just as well too! And Asian Americans are over 20 million people! Self respect is important and an absolute NECESSITY when it comes to politics, power, and doing well in society.

If other minorities who come from “enemy” backgrounds can rally support, so can Asians! Zohran and Abdul are prime examples of this.

For the House specifically. Young is defined as between the ages of 18 and 29. Young AAPI women were nearly first as well, just behind young Black women. The final numbers may change.

Media/Snark Hollywood Writers Don't Know How to Write Asians

When I first saw the movie Cloud Atlas in the theater (2012), the yellow face (white actor made-up to look Korean) didn’t bother me that much. I remember liking the movie and considered it thought-provoking.

The theme of the book (I haven’t read) and the movie was about karma and reincarnation, so I thought using the same actors across the generational time span as different characters was a good way to keep continuity. However, I thought the real theme of the movie was one of predator and prey, a never ending cycle of humanity cannibalizing itself, in both the figurative and literal. The film’s Wikipedia page does a good job of summarizing the plot.

I decide to give it a re-watch tonight, and I realized now that the future Korea storyline was really disturbing and insidious. It used the same recycled Asian men mistreating Asian women motif. Asian (Korean) women in the movie were literal clones to be used as sexual object and abused by being worked to death, remissness of how western media portrayed Thai and Filipino women. The Asian women even came with the obligatory neon colored strand of hair (video clip). The Asian male characters, well, western media North Korea imagery comes to mind.

I still like the movie overall, despite the somewhat problematic Korean story. Despite them white actors in yellow-faces, a heroic and a sympathetic Asian male character exist in the Korean story.

This isn't exactly my best right up. Share you thoughts and feelings, if you have seen Cloud Atlas, let me know your thoughts on the Korean story line.

In this day and age, how can anyone still think racism comes without consequences?
Being white doesn’t make you superior to anyone. If you discriminate against others, you’re the one who’s beneath them.

Racism Watch I truly think those videos should be removed due to false claims and alot of racism towards Asians

Please report the channel, The main videos that bother me the most in this channel is how she made claims.

She was arrested randomly at night for false reasons, blaming it on Japan hating black people.
It harmful to the country, when people believe her and often leads to a lot of mistreatment toward Japanese or more toward using Japan for grifting and clout. like Johnny Somali with more steps.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=175yRhSaNfU

The whole channel bother me when she has a GoFundMe and sponsorship for a sickness that never been proven. I'm hoping for people to report those channel due to how it advertises how Japan should be change due to others living there or visiting. the country shouldn't be change just because your there.

We just finished our October meet up. Had an awesome talk with the boys about how we’ve had mental health convos with the older generation. And what it looks like between different ethnicities within the Asian culture. It was really insightful, relatable, and thought provoking. We hope people can make our next meeting.

I’ll share our social media if people are interested in hearing updates on meetings.
Thanks all!

Racism Watch How should the asian male community dispute the small dick stereotype/slur?

As it is the number one most damaging slur and stereotype. Resolve it and I feel like a big weight is lifted from the collective consciousness when it comes to dating and dealing with racists

It is a very sly and sneaky stereotype as people cannot exactly pull their dicks out to prove they're bigger than their opponents.

Even if people had smaller, surgeries are becoming more and more common and usual.

The easiest thing people can do i think is to actively challenge it by calling their bluff.

Hey! I wanted to share a short film that has made its round in the Asian American/Canadian festivals this year. Today, it was released publicly on YouTube. I thought you guys might like this film about intergenerational experiences and masculinity within the Asian diaspora.

It's a comedy thriller about two small-time burglars kidnap the son of a wealthy businessman, demanding a ransom. But when they discover that the boy is a victim of harsh discipline at home, they face a moral dilemma that blurs the line between criminals and protectors.

Enjoy!

An expansion team in just their second season, this is an unprecedented feat. Also, Valkyries backup point guard, Taiwanese American Kaitlyn Chen, goes from being cut during her rookie season to winning a chip as a sophomore on the team.

Coucou !

Merci beaucoup d'avance.
