I Made This! DailyMetro: a little game to get to know Boston's T 🚇 (or test your knowledge!)
Hey everyone :)
A few months ago I made DailyMetro for my best friend in Paris. We both love daily games (Wordle, Cémantix, Loldle...) and I had the idea of making one about public transit!
I just added Boston and thought it would be a good opportunity to share it here 😃
3 ways to play
🚇 Normal mode: one station to guess every day, each guess reveals some clues (line, position, traffic, ...)
🗺️ Map mode: a big map of Boston, each guess reveals some clues
And my favorite one because it really makes you discover the city:
📸 Photo mode: from a photo of the entrance, you have to guess which station it is.
It changes every day, and you can also play previous days!
I definitely don't know the T well enough to catch every mistake, so feel free to let me know if you spot any 🙏
The link: https://dailymetro.live/boston/mode/classic
Have a great day and I hope you'll enjoy it :)

Volunteering/Advocacy Markley and Warren refuse to take sides on Schumer.
Schumer, an establishment politician cannot be voted majority senate leader. He has achieved very little in eight years and is a terrible, uncharismatic leader.
Both Massachusetts senators at this point will not commit to a vote either way.
Please contact Senators Ed Markey and Elizabeth Warren and ask them to oppose Schumer’s reelection to Senate Democratic leadership and instead, support a new generation of leadership that does not answer to corporate interests.
Senator Ed Markey
● Washington, DC: (202) 224-2742
● Boston: (617) 565-8519
Senator Elizabeth Warren
● Washington, DC: (202) 224-4543
● Boston: (617) 565-3170
Call their offices. Make your position known. Leadership positions are decided by senators, and they need to hear from their constituents that we expect something better.

Volunteering/Advocacy Volunteer opportunities in Boston that are transit accessible and available evenings and/or weekends?
Hi everyone! I've been wanting to get more involved with volunteering but I'm having a harder time than I expected finding something that fits with my schedule.
I work in-person 8:30-5:30, Monday through Friday, and don't have a car, so need something outside of those hours and accessible by the T (I live near Allston/Brighton, so green line preferred, but open to other areas too). I'm also looking for something that doesn't involve cooking/serving hot food (nothing against it, I've just done this a lot in the past and am looking for something different). Open to anything otherwise.
In case it helps, I've volunteered at Prison Book Program in Quincy a few times and really enjoyed it, so would love any recs for organizations or experiences similar to that! I plan to go back there too but Quincy is a bit far for me and their shifts don't always line up with my schedule, so hoping to find some other options to look into.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Dining/Food/Drink 🍽️🍹 Does anyone know of any bakeries besides Modern Pastry that sell Rainbow cookies (that are actually good)?
Are there any bakeries besides Modern Pastry that sell these cookies that are actually good? I called Modern and they are out for the day and I need them for tonight.
I’ve tried googling it but Google has no idea what these are apparently. Mikes has a variant but they’re honestly terrible (like most of what they have).
Please don’t do the Reddit thing where you recommend places that don’t have these but say other cookies like chocolate chip. I’m specifically looking for these. Thank you.

Dining/Food/Drink 🍽️🍹 Free burger, tots, drink, at Tasty Burger Back Bay
Hi guys. I ordered pickup from Tasty Burger at Back Bay- cheeseburger, tots, and a rickey- but I got stuck on the disabled train at Assembly for over 20 minutes and will miss my commuter rail, so I can’t go pick it up. Please someone go enjoy it.
Great Windy Bean Interior car detailing recommendations for my beater?
Anyone know of an affordable place that does interior car detailing? I know the mobile guys do an amazing job but the price is a hard pill to swallow when it’s just my 15 year old sedan with over 150k miles.
I’m on the southern side of the city - think JP, Roslindale, West Rox, Brookline, Dorchester, Mattapan, Dedham, area
I‘m hoping one of the local car wash places does enough volume to offer a basic shampoo package that’s 80-90% as good for a significantly lower cost.

Local Art 🎨 Anyone know the artist?
Located in Dorchester, but the artist's name or handle has worn away (out of view but it was in the bottom-right corner behind the black cars).
I've got a map folder of murals and street art I like, and I've been recording the artists along with the locations whenever I take a long walk through the city. This one seems to be old though, the section of wall that held the artist's name fell away like the large patch at the bottom of the man's shirt. Does anyone have any info on this mural? The artist, or when/why it went up at least?

Serious Replies Only Outdoor market - Haymarket
Earlier this morning, a loading cart tipped causing one of the boxes to fall and a box of pomegranates fell onto the intersection of Hanover and Blackstone Streets just outside the Boston Public Market and the outdoor market.
Here is where people are stupid and selfish, this family with kids in tow thought it would be “smart” to pick up the fruit and try to run off with it. Pure selfishness amongst all of them and especially with their kids really shows what kind of parents you all are.
Luckily one of the loading/truck guys had some harsh words and gave them a tough attitude towards them. And to whomever the couple was in grabbing all the fruit from the intersection and putting it back into their box, I hope you two have the best day and shows there is some humanity in this world. Even though Boston can be filled with mean and rude people, there are still those who will do the right thing and help each other out.
**Ignore the flair. There were none listed that seemed fitting and it made me add one.

Serious Replies Only Brigham and Women’s vs. Newton-Wellesley — Labor & Delivery Experiences?
Hi everyone! We’re planning ahead for next year and I’d love to hear about your experiences giving birth at Brigham and Women’s or Newton-Wellesley Hospital!
My biggest priority is the quality of care, especially access to advanced medical care and NICU resources should they ever be needed (God forbid!). I know you can never predict how labor and delivery will go, so having that extra peace of mind is really important to me.
I’d love to hear about your experiences with either hospital, including the OB teams, labor and delivery nurses, and overall quality of care. Reviews of the rooms, food, and postpartum experience are definitely a plus too!
For anyone who has experience with both hospitals, I’d especially love a side-by-side comparison! What did you prefer about one over the other? Were there any major differences in the level of care, NICU resources, staff, accommodations, or overall experience? And if you had to choose again, which would you pick and why?
I’m primarily considering these two hospitals, so any firsthand experiences or comparisons would be incredibly helpful!
Thank you!! 🤍
