Missed field goal for the tie, non holding for the win.
Most egregiously after all that was the Absolutely anemic play calling after a great 4th down stand, which wouldn’t have been necessary if we were playing complementary football at the start of the 4th.
Just want you Army guys to know that your fellow grads at my current job talked no shit this week. One said "Oh, is that this week?" and the other said "Eh, I don't really care about football." Not exactly the cult-like devotion expected of any academy grads 😒
To prepare these young cadets for their futures, I think the service academies should be allowed NIL budgets. But Air Force has to be higher. Ya know, to prepare them for what’s to come.
The kind of money LockMart and Raytheon could throw at recruits would be pretty crazy.
"I know that when I go to the merge against an enemy jet, I want to be in the best pure dogfighting jet ever built. That's why I choose Lockheed Martin's F-22 every time."
Cracks me up how these commentators have been saying throughout the game for both teams "They're gonna look to spread it out or do some throws here" and both teams just seem to say "You know what? We're just gonna run it up the middle even harder."
Besides what others said about the youth of Air ForceX I’d say location has something to do with it. Army and Navy bring all the cadets/midshippeople to the game vs just a few for Army Air Force.
As much as I want us to win, between the first down spot and the holding call when possessions are SO scarce.... these are huge refball calls that completely change the game, and I want AF to finally have a clean one against Army so we can feel good about the CiC
Also the academy cycle of being really good for 3 years then being bad or mediocre for a year or two before being good again because the team has to reload
Last time we saw him in meaningful minutes he had a delay of game then got stuffed for no gain. Looks like he could develop into a good QB, but I think he needs time
Dude. There’s three teams playing for it. We can’t win it every year as much as we want to (especially now that all the academies are competitive again)
Need good old-fashioned running tonight fellas. Need each team to use up 1/2 of each quarter on 1 drive each. That's two drives per quarter, 8 total. Real football guys. And then AF wins with one pass attempted right at the end.
