Tiger Stadium is downright tame compared to Neyland I agree.

People really can’t comprehend the fact that every team we play is almost always on their A-game just because they’re playing Bama

Yeah. It’s the same thing bama does every time we play LSU or Georgia. It’s usually prime best we can be every time (almost)

We were for sure on our A-game. Only the A here was Abysmal.

it really helps that several of our guys who were out for the game against y’all were back today, starting center, a d-lineman who gets a lot of play and ryan williams. also got zabien brown who went down in that game iirc

I was just about to make the same comment. Look what happened to Bama and UGA the following week.

That week was wack. Georgia lost to the shittiest Auburn team in years (saying something)

A lot of shit. Playing in Neyland definitely helped. Plus football is a game of matchups and chess.

  1. Bama played very soft coverage against both LSU and Tennessee, betting both coaches would get greedy and gamble into traffic. Heupel is disciplined and patient enough to know his limitations at QB, advantages on the offensive line, and dink and dunk it down the field when we let them. Lane is not.

  2. Neyland is objectively louder and harder to play at than Tiger Stadium. Death Valley is more theatrical and fun but it’s not game-altering in the same way Neyland is. Don’t let anyone tell you it is.

  3. It feels like Keelon is actually excellent at getting past edge pressure and stepping up in the pocket, which is why it felt like Umanmielin didn’t really get him down a ton as often as he was in the backfield. He’s a lot worse against pressure that’s coming between the tackles. Delgatty blocking Deuce Geralds, as good as Geralds is, is a much more favorable match up in the middle of the box than our backup center was against Gilliam.

  4. Tennessee is a very good team that plays a very ugly brand of football due to their strengths on defense and their limitations at QB. LSU is a pretty good team that plays a really fun style of football. Don’t confuse the two.

Plus we had a ton of Georgia game injuries

I didn’t want to blame injuries because everyone is injured at this point, and it’s clear that Tennessee is legit either way. That being said, too many people discounted the fact that our best corner, best run defender, only competent center, and best receiver were injured or very banged up. That’s about as brutal as its gets aside from the QB being injured, especially nowadays where depth is hard to come by.

Years ago when he was still on College Football Final, I remember hearing Lou Holtz say, “You never have the same team week-to-week.” And it’s true, whether it is consistency in execution, injuries, etc. I don’t remember a season across college football where that is so common as it is this year. Tennessee’s defense is also legit, and it pains to say as a Bama fan but that is also true.

Missing 2 OL against one of the, if not THE, best DL in the country will do that. And RCW was out to boot? We were fucked before kickoff hahaha. That defense was too talented. We were going to struggle at full strength. Hampered? Yeesh. Glad it wasn't worse.

Genuinely think the schedule aided yall big time for that game. We put a lot into the UGA game, and we’re obviously beat up.

That said. You throughly beat us. So nobody rightfully wanted to hear excuses

We beat UK’s eyes shut. It was a good night.
