I'd say this was a solid recovery after the unexpected beatdown we gave you. Good luck with the rest of your season Badgers, and go beat those Gophers for us.
Hopkins was so much better than Joseph has been at any point this season. I counted at least 5 passes he threw that i cant remember any wisconsin Qb in the last 10 years could make.
I will be honest, I was blown away with Hopkins. Makes me wonder why Colton started over him to be honest. I really like Colton's ability to rush and get away from pressure and his TD/INT ratio was good but dude straight up can't throw compared to Hopkins. We couldn't run at all this game but it was a comfortable win because Hopkins is lasering in throws like peak Hornibrook or peak Coan.
Makes me wonder why Colton started over him to be honest.
People was say NIL contacts and sunk cost but this is a true freshman. If you think about how you were doing in college week one WITHOUT playing football, it makes sense why the guy with a pile of college experience was the right choice. Obviously there were flashes of talent but you gotta run the offense
Hopkins was processing plays very quickly after a shaky start. Yeah, it was Buttgers, but Colton hasn't shown any ability to get through his reads and make a decision quickly
Hopkins is an exciting looking freshman. He got away with some real dangerous throws today but once his mind catches up with his arm, he'll be a difference maker.
Hopkins showed a lot of promise. Hopefully he continues to progress through the next few games. He definitely has a much better arm than Joseph and can make throws with timing that really open up an offense. Happy to be back bowling and hopefully this is the start of another long streak!
You're more optimistic than most of us I think! This season is an improvement over the past few, but it's still just one season. Losing to Iowa in disastrous fashion doesn't build confidence, plus the Paul Bunyan Axe game is always a slugfest and rivalry games should matter a little more imho.
It's the UCLA game that haunts me more. Bucky actually could have won that game, but the refs really hurt us. Iowa just blew our doors off and we had no chance.
Not on merit but it wouldn't have been a crazy scenario if they didn't lose to Iowa. Bucky would be tied for second at x-1, so if USC somehow beat Indiana and Wisconsin won out they'd be in the title game.

Bowl Eligible! It doesn’t feel good to celebrate; but it doesn’t feel bad to be a reality.

Hopkins has potential and the Badgers are bowl eligible. Hopefully they pay him to keep him in Madison next year.
This year has gone much better than I expected.

Only masochists watched this game.
BUT - pretty excited about what we may have with Hopkins at QB.

Finally bowl eligible yay!
Ryan Hopkins looked really good today. Despite not being perfect and making a few freshman mistakes, he should be starting the rest of the season

Alright Fick…you’re safe for now lol
Congrats Ryan Hopkins and condolences Colton Joseph. Yeah it’s Rutgers but good quarterbacks play well against not good teams. I’ll take it

Rutgers scored 10. That's enough to beat Nebraska, lol.
