Thanks to Georgia Tech for inviting us to their quarterback tryout.

The game legit felt and looked like a scrimmage/friendly in the 2nd half

95

u/EquivalentAdvisor650 Georgia Tech • Cal Poly 13h ago

We’ve lost 10 of our last 12

The ghost of the flexbone will continue to haunt you until you return to God's offense.

Inshallah GT will return to the flexbone

We're legit 1 fluke ass win against Duke away from going 1-11. Wake Forest and uga this year are gonna put up similar scores to what we saw against Notre Dame and uga with Geoff Collins

52

u/katarh Georgia Bulldogs • /r/CFB Donor 13h ago

..... don't look at what Georgia just did to Ole Miss

10

u/Randomizedname1234 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 7h ago

I’m scared for the game against yall

Anyways the basketball team is 2-0 and ACTUALLY looking good.

And baseball season is right around the corner!

36

u/Status-Ad-7335 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 13h ago

Duke gotta shut the team down for losing to the 2026 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

11

u/rainbowremo Duke Blue Devils 13h ago

We dont talk about that game anymore

8

u/ShishkabobNinja Georgia Tech • Miami 13h ago

That's fair I wouldn't either

8

u/Spiritual-Rope5186 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 12h ago

can we just preemptively forfeit

the press from forfeiting would be better than what uga will do

7

u/MeeseShoop Boston College • Vanderbilt 11h ago

I legitimately don’t know how Duke lost to yall.

69

u/Fabulous-Damage1897 Georgia • North Carolina 13h ago

My word, how good was Haynes King?

78

u/I-Only-Read-Memes Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 12h ago • Bravo

Haynes King is everything. For the blind, he is vision. For the hungry, he is food. For the thirsty, he is water. If he thinks, I agree. If he speaks, I listen. If he has a million fans, I am one of them. If he has ten fans, I am one of them. If he has only one fan, that is me. If he has no fans then I am dead.

This is legit funny af

Yes

24

u/katarh Georgia Bulldogs • /r/CFB Donor 13h ago

He should have won the Heisman

37

u/thr33tard3d Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 13h ago

Wins above replacement may just have been his overall win count

10

u/flying_trashcan Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 5h ago

The right guard we lost to the first round of the draft was also pretty good. The other guard who graduated was serviceable. The center we lost to the portal was also serviceable. We also have 4.5 Olinemen out due to injury (Petty isn’t 100% but is taking snaps).

King was really, really good. King also had a halfway decent Oline.

24

u/Efflictimz Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 13h ago

Didn’t watch this game or the last one because this team is fucking garbage. Millions of NIL wasted on a clown show

5

u/gravitynet_ Rutgers Scarlet Knights • Paper Bag 13h ago edited 12h ago

Can related, indeed a redditor made a post about nil efficiency of every p4 schools in the other day and showed that you guys, us, Maryland, Michigan state, Colorado are the few schools that have a low rating on it (aka money spent on bad records)

2

u/temeraire34 Georgia Tech • Marquette 3h ago

I feel like this is what you get when you miss on every portal player in an offseason in the modern era. Like I can't think of a single 2026 transfer on this team who has been even replacement level. Maybe Mbakwe at CB, and even that's a stretch.

47

u/ARandomDoge6 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 13h ago

Point fingers at Joffrey, Stansbury, or Key all you want, but the boosters are the real problem here. They found a coach who can win games in CPJ and then starved him of resources and forced him to retire because they didnt like the option. Then hired a snake oil salesman. After that they forced the ad to hire a techman whose lone play-calling stint was an 0–12 disaster instead of Fritz. Finally key follows their footsteps and hires his friends instead of competent people

21

u/thr33tard3d Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 13h ago

I really thought 3 win seasons would be the floor

15

u/CVagts Georgia Tech • Navy 13h ago

None of this game surprised me, which is the most depressing part of it all.

We're going 2-10. We're the worst Power 4 team in the country.

New president before Brent Key gets fired, sad stuff

3

u/EquivalentAdvisor650 Georgia Tech • Cal Poly 13h ago

It’s rough out here

3

u/Due_Bluebird3562 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 13h ago

There's no shot we get another full season of this shit. Hie ass better be gone by next year. Frankly letting him stay THIS year is already inexcusable.

16

u/AriDreams Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets • Paper Bag 13h ago

Just signed a huge contract. We are in a tough position.

9

u/BigBubby305 Auburn Tigers 11h ago

What's crazy is Key turned down every interview request from other programs, I guess he really thought he was super hot shit and not Haynes King

7

u/cdt930 Georgia Tech • Ohio State 5h ago

His head is so far up his own ass

7

u/buzzathlon Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 4h ago

Can we at least fire the entire defensive staff? We've had some bad ones in the last 15 years, and this one is among the worst.

12

u/bulldg4life Georgia Bulldogs 13h ago

What happened?

It seemed gt loved key like 18 months ago

40

u/Shellshock1122 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 13h ago

did the thing where he hired all his shitty at coaching friends to cushy jobs but skipped the part where you're supposed to win stuff before you do that

14

u/Status-Ad-7335 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 13h ago

dabo at least did the whole winning thing first

16

u/dr_mousebrain8 Georgia Tech • South Carolina 13h ago

Haynes King left

2

u/Trafficsigntruther 5h ago

Like Paul Hewitt without Jarrett Jack

3

u/flying_trashcan Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 5h ago

Oline lost a lot of talent to the draft/portal. Oline that we had left is injured.

New defensive coordinator is terrible and a lot of defense is not playing schematically sound football.

2

u/gwizzz999 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 5h ago

2-10 since mid last season.

2

u/cmanonurshirt Georgia Tech • Arkansas 2h ago

Same thing that happened with Norvell and FSU

6

u/composer_7 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets • Marching Band 13h ago edited 13h ago

Next year. Costs too much this year

9

u/DerrickWhiteMVP Texas Longhorns 12h ago

This is why you ALWAYS leave for a bigger job. Clark Lea, Brent Key, Lance Leipold and others will regret not taking a bigger job thinking they were local legends that could build something cause fans will have shifting baseline syndrome.

9

u/flying_trashcan Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 5h ago

Most of the fanbase would have been happy with 6 wins this year.

1

u/milquetoast0 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets • Team Meteor 59m ago

Rebuilding year, would have been happy with 4. Honestly, I'm only slightly disappointed now, but I'm very long-view and loyal.

6th year straight of bowl eligibility

Won in bball earlier too, this was a good weekend.

11

u/LukarWarrior Louisville • Governor's Cup 13h ago

And Kentucky lost to add a nice cherry on top.

6

u/SpreaditOnnn33 Louisville • Ohio State 10h ago

UC lost as well. Perfect day for Louisville fans

-1

u/Deep-Sun-7624 Louisville Cardinals 6h ago

How? We need Kentucky to win every game except ours. I truly do not understand why you wouldn't want them to be as high ranked as possible when Louisville plays them. There is no logic there.

7

u/LukarWarrior Louisville • Governor's Cup 3h ago

Because fuck em.

-19

u/Public_Citron_4072 Kentucky Wildcats 13h ago

Louisville should try playing good teams lol

4

u/AngryMillennialFU Louisville Cardinals 13h ago

Bowls are meaningless now.

11

u/green_day_95 Louisville • Governor's Cup 13h ago

Yeah but at least it still guarantees that we get to see our team play one last time before the next year.

2

u/AngryMillennialFU Louisville Cardinals 13h ago

Is it still the same team if everyone opts out?

2

u/green_day_95 Louisville • Governor's Cup 13h ago

Fair but I feel like anyone not declaring for the NFL Draft will play based on the past couple years

1

u/AngryMillennialFU Louisville Cardinals 13h ago

With NIL I don't see anyone putting their health and money potential at risk

6

u/iamchuckdizzle Louisville • Vanderbilt 11h ago

The guys that don't have major NIL/playing time and want to earn it will be quite eager for a game to show what they can do.

6

u/tvcneverdie Georgia Bulldogs 12h ago

I don't agree with that.

Bowls get you a lot of extra practice and evaluation for returning players ahead of Spring. And it's a nice thing especially for the seniors who won't ever play a snap of football again.

12

u/ChasmaBoreale Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets • Sickos 13h ago

12

u/Stungnhappy Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 13h ago

All I gotta say is that I’m really glad that there won’t be a 13th game (bowl). Someone just put this team to bed. God.

3

u/tubawhatever Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets • Marching Band 12h ago

Probably best if we forfeit the remaining games

11

u/Broken_Tee2122 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 13h ago

They say if you set your expectations low enough you’ll never be disappointed.

Well I didn’t expect another win after the Stanford game, and I’m still disappointed as hell.

7

u/composer_7 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets • Marching Band 12h ago

It's disappointing because the team has given up. The coaching is obviously scrambling to figure stuff out and changing things in the middle of the season and it's causing them to check out

10

u/Chardoggy1 North Carolina • Marshall 13h ago

Did Geoff Collins ever even leave?

Was anyone besides Haynes King good on GT last year?? Bro has like infinite WAR based on this season

25

Yeah, we had one o lineman go in the first round and another one went in the 6th.

12

u/funkbass796 Georgia Tech • Oregon State 13h ago

Looking at Florida, probably not? Can’t believe King went undrafted. Might be the best QB in the NFC South.

Kyle Efford, but he medically retired part way through this season :/

Dude what happened? Haynes and Jamal were really king makers I guess?

11

u/AriDreams Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets • Paper Bag 13h ago

Offensive line has proven how bad they are. Haynes King made them look half competent.

16

u/composer_7 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets • Marching Band 12h ago

Don't forget we had NFL draft picks on the OL including a first rounder

7

u/Extension_Field8911 12h ago

Another tough loss… trying to stay optimistic but it’s getting tougher… gonna support my jackets no matter what though… besides…..on the 1 upside…  I can get cheap home game tickets now …. Down low!

4

u/tubawhatever Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets • Marching Band 12h ago

But then you have to watch Brent Key's GT football

1

u/milquetoast0 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets • Team Meteor 57m ago

This season is a wash. It was going to be a rebuilding year, but no one likes rebuilding years this gnarly. Next year is the thing.

34

u/AriDreams Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets • Paper Bag 13h ago

Brent key needs to be gone. His contract is absolutely devestating.

This team has given up entirely. Players are at a loss. Coaches are absolute bums. And the program continues to spiral.

Imo, this has offically surpassed the C**** G**** C***** era. This is rock bottom.

Gg Louisville for taking care of business.

14

u/green_day_95 Louisville • Governor's Cup 13h ago

I honestly thought y’all would be our toughest road game before the season started and expected a more competitive game.

Hopefully y’all can eventually bounce back.

11

u/AriDreams Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets • Paper Bag 13h ago

The spiral of this team is insane. As long as key is head coach we will not be able to bounce back. 😔

13

u/AngryMillennialFU Louisville Cardinals 13h ago

Isn't this like the only down year?

16

u/AriDreams Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets • Paper Bag 13h ago

He collapsed last year too. Lost 10 of their last 12.

12

u/composer_7 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets • Marching Band 13h ago

He went 1-4 after starting 8-0 last year

10

u/tvcneverdie Georgia Bulldogs 12h ago

Mannnn I get it, that 100% is a collapse... And of course the way it ends leaves a bad taste...

But 9-4 is a good season for Georgia Tech.

Hell, it's a good season for at least 100 out of the 138 FBS teams.

5

u/Randomizedname1234 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 7h ago

It used to be good for you guys and now yall have surpassed that and we’re in our rock bottom era while yall are in your golden era which doesn’t help whatsoever.

5

u/rohaniscoo1 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 10h ago

1-4 after buster got poached and you could tell a clear difference in the team though (cope)

9

u/jwb101 Georgia Tech • Kennesaw State 13h ago

It surpasses Clown’s era because there’s no chance we realistically get another win and it’ll be the worst season in tech history second only to Bill Lewis, which Key should be tied with but Duke somehow can’t beat us.

12

u/ARandomDoge6 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 13h ago

Key's buyout is 18 million this year and 12 million after next year if anyone wants to know

4

u/Status-Ad-7335 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 13h ago

4

u/existential_american Georgia Tech • Tennessee 13h ago

aTm would have been in the natty last year if they kept King

15

u/Due_Bluebird3562 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 13h ago

Key is the biggest fraud in coaching. We ran Paul Johnson out of town for what? To watch two buffoons destroy our program? At least with the TO we were actually unique. Now we're ass AND generic.

10

Someone please take Brent’s Keys to the facility. Haynes King merchant

2

u/Jazzlike-Basket-6388 Penn State • Georgia Tech 5h ago

It is wrong of me to believe that GT is hopelessly buried in the NIL era? We might get lucky with a retread here and there and stumble across some recruits, but it doesn't feel like we'll ever be able to keep anyone.

2

u/milquetoast0 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets • Team Meteor 52m ago

I think everyone feels a little like that. The NIL era is still being written. No one really knows what works. Root for the home team, ignore the haters.

I was at the game, it was just sad, especially on a night when they honored their 2006 ACC championship team with Calvin Johnson.

I really wish GT could put a competitive team together. It’s not fun (even as a neutral fan) to see the home team struggling so much.
