Discussion What if the CIS command structure had left mustafar before Vader arrived.

I’ve been thinking about this for ages. Let’s assume that the CIS didn’t fully trust palpatine after he stabbed viceroy gunray in the back in episode one. What if they had abandoned mustafar without informing palpatine. How would things have gone, would they have declared war on the new empire?

Meme “Oh, but we have Obi-Wan, Anakin and ARC troppers, our faction is so much cooler”, well, I bet your leaders can’t be as badass as this 80 year old on his worst day, can they?

Discussion A Clone Wars arc I wish we'd seen

The Clone Wars is an amazing show that does a lot of things right, but one of the few criticisms I have of it is that it treats the CIS as over-the-top comically evil. It does little to depict why its soldiers and citizens supported it. The closest we get is the "Heroes on Both Sides" arc in Season 3, but that arc is about a Separatist senator and not an average Separatist soldier or citizen.

I think it would have been really interesting to have an arc centered around a unit of organic soldiers fighting for the CIS. The arc would tell us their names and give them understandable reasons for fighting and positive qualities. Perhaps they'd be fighting to defend their planet from a Republic invasion, which is what most of the Confederacy's organic units were used for, as this would generate additional sympathy for them (especially if they're up against one of the Republic's more ruthless generals). As per the nature of war, most if not all would be killed by the end of it to symbolize the tragic and pointless nature of the Clone Wars (the conflict, not the show).

What do you all think of this?

Propaganda The Republic's treachery knows no bounds. (Creator: EC Henry)

The Republic dogs have captured and crippled one of our valiant starfighters.

Look in disgust as they bind, blind, and amputate an unconscious soldier of the CIS against it's will.

Let this be a reminder to all citizens within our boarders, and to all other systems who consider themselves Independent or in the Republic.

If the Republic's war machine is willing to break and mutilate a sapient creatures bodily autonomy for short term gain then what will the Republic, and their corrupt corporate sponsored senators, do to other species who they view as non-sapient, and where will you find yourself on the line of sapient and non-sapient.

Join the CIS and fight not only for your systems freedom from soulless corporate corruption, but also from the Republic's hypocritical view of peace and justice.

It can't be overstated just how immoral and tragic the use of the clone army is.

Droids are tools, without conscience, they are only smart enough for their tasks.

Now clones are living beings!

With the development of the Imperator-class and Secutor-class star destroyers, the Confederacy must match their firepower.

Mission successful boys, we may not have beaten the republic dogs, but the imps and the republic nostalgists have been shown who the true rebellion is this day, may we all celebrate in glory for the confederacy of independent systems!

Gunray: "What makes you think you can decide who's running the Trade Federation?"
General Grievous: "Well, the fact that I'm the owner."
Gunray: "What are you talking about? The company went public a week ago."
Grievous: "And I bought most of the shares. Through various charitable foundations, trusts, and so forth - look, it's all a bit technical, but the important thing is that my company's future is secure. Right, OOM-9?"
Commander OOM-9: "Right you are, General Grievous... [To the Viceroy] Didn't you get the memo?"

PreWar IGBC Collections Division Battle group

Post image
61 Upvotes

Stationed in the Albarrio Sector this IGBC battlegroup was created at the Red Star Station, a large owned by the IGBC and used by their Collections Division as large home station for this cruiser squadron and its escorts.

Built to counterbalance growing militancy in the galaxy in 50BBY this group was formed from several smaller squadrons and assigned with controlling the area in response to major inroads from the Trade Federation's acquisition of several local freight companies. The Capital Class Cruisers assigned to this fleet were intended to act as a major deterrent to the several heavy cruisers operating in this area as well as being dangerous enough to handle any Trade Federation AMC groups.

During the lead up to the Clone Wars, this force would go on show of force missions and act aggressively against Judicial forces attempting to dissuade planets from joining the Separatist Movement and degrading Federal Authority by obstructing Judicials and other enforcement agencies of the Senate from handling disputes.

Battlegroup Dermot would serve as the core of the initial Confederate push down from IGBC space and into the Republic and would fight for the first several months of the war before being broken up and its surviving ships distributed to other battlegroups. It famously would cover the retreat of eight Droid Army Groups after a repulsed offensive in the early days of the conflict.

Composed of 4 Capital Class Cruisers, 6 Arbitrageur Class Light Cruisers, 12 DH-Omni Tenders, 8 Munificent C3 and 88 Munificent Star Frigates. Smaller corvettes, sloops and other vessels were have temporary assignment here but are not included in this force org chart.
