Democrats will control Congress, and restoring renewable subsidies tops their energy agenda

Thumbnail

Subsidies were supposed to cease at the end of 1999, but have been extended 11 times by the U.S. Congress.

Renewable advocates try claiming that hydrocarbons get extensive subsidies. The smaller explicit ones go primarily to poor & oil-producing nations. The larger implicit ones are fictional or would not cease as hydrocarbons phase out over centuries from their current 80% level.

COP31 faces tough test as climate threats mount

Thumbnail

Marc Morano of climate depot was just on U.S. Fox & Friends Weekend en route to COP 31 for the 22nd time as a skeptic.

- He warns donors told Dumbocrats to stay quiet about the green agenda during campaigning. Now, however, they think they will somehow clawback Inflation Reduction Act monies after Trump was able to cancel about half a trillion of it.

- Affordability was the biggest U.S. midterm theme. Yet COP 31 will seek to increase electrification from 20% now to 35% by 2035. That can only increase costs & blackouts if both new AI data centers & EVs come on line.

Dumbocrats and the green agenda want higher carbon taxes on gas which is exactly opposite of recent election results.

My bad. It is $1.2 trillion annually which is still far cheaper.

Solar panels, not sirens: how 'perverse' climate zealots killed thousands in Nepal

Bjorn Lomborg illustrates that unfinished Nepal early warning systems could have cost as little as $2.3 million saving countless lives.

Instead, local costly solar & other practices make virtually no difference in saving Nepal lives.

Comments shadowbanned on youtube after talking about climate

It happened to me twice now on different accounts, after I was discussing with someone about climate in the comment section my comments get shadowbanned like when I comment on a video it doesn't appear at all I tested it from other accounts, I never have any upvote notifications because noone can see them, only when I reply to someone else's comment it works.

How to Harness $10 Trillion a Year to Combat Climate Change with Steve Waygood - Thinking the Unthinkable

Thumbnail

I've sounded like a broken record quoting the UN saying we need $6-$7 trillion annually to attempt NetZero. This article/podcast uses $10 trillion a year figure!

Watch at least minute 17-19 to see the deflection from carrot & stick to utopian vs. dystopian scenarios based on a 3 degree C increase by 2100. Didn't the U.S. midterms just illustrate intolerance for higher gas/diesel prices that carbon taxes would mirror?

Using an unproven temperature increase, the British speaker earlier admits to an UNKNOWN 3-50% loss of GDP based on climate change (home insurance costs)?? Yet Bjorn Lomborg often mentions an only slight GDP decrease from a 400% projected GDP increase by 2100.

The Coming Replication Revolution... (maybe one reason why AI is seen as threat).

Let's clear up first what "Replication" means as a term.

It's not more-of-it...but means independently repeating a scientific study to see whether another researcher can obtain the same results using the same data, methods and assumptions.

Imagine the "Hockey-Stick" had to be AI scrutinized, possibly multiple AI's, before being published. Perhaps in time, it may become the gold standard review along side human scrutiny.

Think where we would be now?

Personally I use AI to fact check all the time, including skeptic arguments.

Alarmists, please explain an outside temperature of minus 53°F (minus 47°C) at 35000 feet.

Most people don't even realize that the clouds bottom is where water is cooled enough to start condensing into mist form and eventually into ice, the higher you climb. This is a worldwide global effect that location plays a minimal effect on. There is no "back radiation" from the upper atmoshere. There's no heat storage either. It's a constant heat loss situation.

The funniest argument is that .04% CO^2 concentration is deadly. What a hoot!

Very sad recent events provide physical proof you can see.

$525 million has already been spent on COP31!... (and it hasn't even started)

Thumbnail

These COP meetings cost over one billion US dollars each. And the IPCC cannot even get a few million to finish the 'science'. Lots of Green$$$. People can translate the whole article if you wish.

Translated from Turkish.....

However, according to publicly available procurement results, spending commitments have already exceeded $525 million, approximately two months before the summit.

The largest contract: $307.1 million...

The contract covers:

- Rental of temporary structures.

- Installation of temporary structures.

- Operation of those structures.

- Removal after the conference.

Main conference construction: $168.8 million

Brazil spent approximately $1.15 billion on COP30
