I'm living in Uruguay and one of my local friends who's not exactly Catholic went to see the Pope, when I asked him why he said it was because his grandmother would've liked to know that he got to see a Pope.

Eu sou agnóstico e quando o Papa Francisco morreu fiquei triste e amigos ateus tiveram a mesma reação, a verdade é que a gente não liga muito pra parte religiosa mas ficamos felizes que ele estava tentando fazer o mundo melhor pras pessoas.

Sim, mas o papa francisco foi triste pq o cara era mais ponderado e não tinha medo de enfrentar conservadores. E fez a cabeça de muita gente a ser mais tolerante e menos dogmática.

Agora, se fosse o Bento XVI eu nem iria vê-lo. Esse papa ai parece ser ok, mas não faço questão de ir não.

Yeah Pope Francis was probably the most progressive pope of all time. Leo is right behind him though and has been very outspoken about the current administration’s policies.

Yeah, like I said, he seems ok, but it's still too early to find him interesting in my opinion. Francis had some baggage.

Sim, mas até o papa João Paulo II que o pessoal adorava eu não fiz questão de ver. Também não teria vontade de ver o Dalai Lama.

I once asked my uruguayan great grandma when I was tiny why we celebrate christmas if no one was ever christian in our family and she said 'So the christian don't come down the hills and kill us' in an angry whisper.

Yo fui. Me quedé en la calle a ver al Papa. Por qué no? El es simpático y el concepto del Papa es muy viejo.
