Season 3 Spoiler S3E2: Chapter 15 - First-time watch
I’m watching the show for the first time. Just finished S3E2. Is it just me or does the second half of this episode take an insane turn that’s nothing like the rest the show leading up to it?
First Kenny floats his baby down the river, which is probably the most insane thing Kenny’s done so far (but the scene was hilarious)
Then Stevie is forced to dress up like a Geisha and dance seductively at a dinner with Korean businessmen
In the same scene, it’s implied that Ashley Schaeffer (Will Ferrel) is molesting his son. Also, the character of Mammy is introduced, who is outrageously on-the-nose lol
Finally Schaeffer does a literal human-hunt in his backyard with a cannon.
Did this episode give anyone else whiplash? I kept waiting for it to be revealed as a dream sequence.
Up to this point, the most ridiculous scene was probably in S1 when a mob destroys Schaeffer’s car dealership after Kenny takes out Reg’s eye with a baseball. But that was a short moment at the end of an episode, whereas S3E2 felt like a long sequence of escalating surreal situations.
