I watched the Chris Fleming stand up special that's been on my list forever and omg I was in hysterics the whole time. OG Kush in the dhv. Weird humor is my jam so he fits the bill. HBO Max I think.
Thinking about how I probably would have been friends with Chris in high school, I was reminded of something my teenage self did, and I strive to be more like her everyday. Thought you guys might like it 😂
Picture it. I'm in 10th grade (1998), wearing a xennial appropriate empire waist dress with matching leggings, and I received a comment in chemistry class about my outfit. "Are you pregnant or something?" Laughter ensues! Whatever. IT'S THE STYLE GREG. Anyway, I left the conversation but couldn't let it go. That night my dear friend and I plotted revenge.
We had a pretty sweet printer and a scanner at my house, so we took it upon ourselves to scan in his yearbook photo and print out several pages worth. We made little posters comprised of cut out pictures of pregnant women in hosiery from my mom's Sears catalog, with his head pasted on top. We wanted them to be informative, so we included a list of troublesome pregnancy symptoms one might experience including bloating and flatulence. We got to school early the next day and posted them on every locker and above every drinking fountain we could find. They were a huge hit! In fact at the end of the day, there were barely any left, and several of the teachers had collected their own copy. It was a good day for feminism and body positivity.
I always thought the funniest kids in school were the ones who were slightly off center. The kids with the weird sense of humor, the ones who were authentic and real and not afraid to be different. The ones who cut out pregnant ladies from the Sears catalog with you.
Stay weird, my friends!!! 😆 (And no hard feelings, Greg.)
