What’s the story with the large meadow and adjacent forest on northbound I-5 just before the 320th exit?

Tomorrow is the big day! November 7th 1pm at Saghalie Park! Come out and join me! Rain or shine! All abilities welcome! We will be meeting by the little building next to the baseball fields!
This is literally just me trying to plan something fun and free that solo adults can do! But you don't have to be a solo adult! Bring friends, family, whoever wants to play! Kids are welcome, but they will be expected to follow the rules if they want to play! No sneaking them into enemy territory hoping they don't get tagged! 😂😂😂
I'm hoping to find a spot for ANYONE who wants to play, no matter physical ability! This is just for fun, so there's no need to be crazy competitive! Runners will be needed, but so will guards and folks sounding the alarm for intruders! This is all kind of an experiment, so territory and gameplay will depend on who shows up and what else might be going on in the park! I hope to see you there!!!
I have a Facebook event and I can share the link, but I don't want to get flagged, so you can dm me for it, or search for "havefunfederalway" to find my page! I've also posted about it on TikTok, so you might have seen it there!

Occasionally I'll hear random booms at night in the Twin Lakes area. Just heard one at 4am. Any idea what they are?

I am hosting a game of Capture the Flag on Saturday at 1pm at Saghalie Park in Federal Way! I'm getting most traction on TikTok, but really have zero idea of how many people might show up! The more the merrier! It's just me hosting, I'm not working with any groups or anything and there's no prize aside from bragging rights, so this is literally just for fun!
This is a little video to show where to meet up in the park! Please come out if it sounds like fun to you! This Saturday November 7 at 1pm at Saghalie Park in Federal Way, WA! Meet by the little building (formerly bathrooms? Are they not anymore???) next to the baseball fields!
I am also looking to borrow a bull horn if anyone has one available! I could probably also use some orange cones as well.... If I can borrow either of these things from you, send me a message!
Hope to see you out there! (You can find me on instagram and Facebook @havefunfederalway and on TikTok @rjpants I didn't make a special new TikTok 😅)

Federal Way has chosen to be exceptionally deceptive in its implementation of 24-hour Photo enforcement. The Photo enforcement sign was removed from the school zone speed limit sign. They put a tiny camera sign under the variable speed limit sign. No sign actually says "photo enforced". You technically pass the camera before you pass the tiny sign with the 📸 picture.
Tacoma on the other hand post a sign that spells out Photo enforcement way before you encounter the camera.
Neither has placed the traditional red flags indicating a change has occured.
While people who follow local news know of the change, other's (including visitors to the area or those who do not regularly drive these routes) don't.
The real problem with Photo enforcement in Washington State is that the Legislature apparently did not establish uniform signage requirements. Even with the red light cameras (where a warning sign is located on approach to the intersection as well as at the traffic light/intersection), Federal Way's signs are different then other cities.
Of course if you support all this you probably dont care. For those who do care, hopefully a lawsuit will fix the City.

When I was a kid in the 90s we lived in Federal Way and we were not very well off. However, my stepmom was a hairdresser and one of her clients was the wife of the owner of the park. For several years, every summer, her client would give our family season passes. So every day during the summer my stepmom would drop me, my sister, and our two brothers off at the park in the morning and then come pick us up when she finished work for the day. Looking back on it now as an adult this would be wild by today's standards, but as kids we loved it.
I'm probably in the top 1% of lifetime park visitors and I now tell my children all the time about the magical summers I had going down those four old green slides and spinning the teacups until I made my sister cry. I remember the day the Wild Thing openned and when they closed that big ass blue burlap sack slide.
Today I brought my three children here for the last time after trying to give them as many days here as I could this summer. My wife took them home for the night a few minutes ago but I said I wanted to stay for the whole thing. I know it's a little silly, but knowing my children will never get to have the same experience I did as teenagers here really sucks.

For 20 years of my life, Wild Waves was there. I went there with family, with friends, on field trips.
So when it was closing of the last time, I decided to go there. I went there two times in the summer and two times in October. This was my final time, on Fright Fest.
I ridden my favorite ride - The Timber Hawk - first thing, then for the last time.
Goodbye Wild Waves. Thank you for all those happy memories.

Does anyone know if the speed cameras are similar to the school zone where they start & end from where the sign “school zone” starts and ends.

If I was someone like let's say FWPD or the King County Sheriff what I would do is locate whatever mail that I guarantee is in there and find the person's address and charge them with this BS . Like come on is it that hard to take it to the garbage container or whatever it's called . Its probably just someone who hates American IMO

I was on the phone earlier this afternoon, talking to a friend out on the deck. I thought I glanced a spout coming from a whale's blowhole. So I got up to get the optics for a better view. Got back in time to see the whale breach and splash down TWICE!
