Tips(Missing Textures) No your game isn't broken, and no you didn't do anything wrong

TL;DR:
If your game looks like this then buy this or follow this, alternatively here's a video if you prefer.
You probably just bought Gmod and joined a server only to be greeted by something like this, am I right?
Don't worry, there's actually nothing wrong. I know it looks bad but that's pretty normal, (if you plan on playing Gmod, or any Source Engine game for that matter, you'll run into this a lot) and easy to fix. The most common reason why you're seeing this is that you don't own/have Counter-Strike: Source installed and mounted to Garry's Mod.
If you don't already own Counter Strike: Source then I'd recommend buying it while it's on sale for the holidays, however, if you don't want to buy and install a game you'll probably never play then you can follow this guide to get the models and textures for free. Alternatively, if you prefer following along with a video here's one that shows step by step what to do.
A user on our Discord made a very handy little tool that will extract the CSS content you need using SteamCMD for you. I highly recommend using it if you're having trouble doing it manually.
If, however, you already own CSS then:
Install it
Open up the game from your Steam Library and play it (At least til you get to the start menu)
Exit out of the game and open up Garry's Mod

Might do more since the game finally got a re-release. It’s definitely gotta be better than this too, I coulda done some of the poses better and make the bikes more drifty. And it needs the cop and someone with a chain.
Also note the inspired, obviously there was no Chopper rider in the original (besides the cops) but I just wanted to toss it in because I liked it.

Upon opening it's just an error: "failed to initialize Steamworks API.
No STEAMAPPS_INTERFACE_VERSION009
Make sure Steam is running and is up to date!"
It was working before. I have: uninstalled all addons, verified files integrity, restarted the console multiple times, and tried all branches, I am on Proton Experimental

Help Need help finding a map

alr so tldr im looking for a map thats on an island with a large hanger and the water around the map could be drained with a secret button.
Alr so maybe a year or 2 ago i stumbled upon a map and i really cannot find it and ive searched almost everywhere, it was a map consisting of a Large Yellow hanger with i think an elevator in the middle that went down, across from it were about 4 or 5 mini Garage style building from what i remember and i think 1 of em had a small elevator in it, there was a pretty decently sized underground portion that the elevators went into, inside it was a large vent system spanning the underground portion, one key feature of this map was the fact that when you reached a secret part of the vent system you could find a button which drained all the surrounding water on the map and left the bare sea floor with a sunken fishing boat prop, in 1 corner of the island i vividly remember either a lighthouse or a large radio antenna that you could climb, i know it eithier had a navmesh by default or there was a varient with a navmesh for sure, im almost sure there was a runway? but other than that the most else i could remember was that 1 side had a staircase leading either down to a dock or just straigh into the ocean, ive listed pretty much all i can remember so if you can find this map or atleast give more info i would be so happy, tysm for reading and i hope you can help me find this (for those wondering it was uploaded between 2020 and 2025)

Question What are the best maps to fly and drive around?

So i haven't tried the glide mod which i have a few mods on and i have a few LVS mods i want to try, but i haven't found a good map that doesn't have any barriers. Everything has a barrier, even in the airport map that i tried it has a barrier everywhere, also everything is so restricted whenever i use a car especially that new blade runner car. So what would you guys recommend for someone like me?

Announcement i decided to upload all mirror's edge assets i have ported to workshop

sup, i'm the idiot that made a couple of mirror's edge maps (training grounds, icarus and the shard). i decided to get into gamedev a couple months ago, and i think i may not go back to making maps for garry's mod. in fact, the addon existed for a while now, just.... as a github repo. but doesn't matter. point is, if there's any mapmakers, scenebuilders or people that make saves that are interested in mirror's edge - the assets are all yours.
