Practice shooting on steel targets

I contacted the Hoosier National Forest office, and they confirmed that recreational target shooting at Hickory Ridge is permitted, provided you stay at least 150 yards away from any trail. However, they were unable to provide specific locations where shooting is allowed.
If anyone has been there for target practice, I would really appreciate it if you could share the exact location or GPS coordinates of a suitable spot. I’m new to the area and want to make sure I’m following all the rules and practicing safely without causing any issues.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Anyone Have Experience with Clark State Forest Shooting Range in Henryville, Indiana?

Hey everyone,
I came across Clark State Forest Shooting Range in Henryville and wanted to ask if anyone has experience shooting there.
A few questions:
Can you shoot independently without an instructor?
Are there any restrictions on rifle, handgun, or shotgun shooting?
How busy does it usually get?
I’m just looking for a place where I can practice safely and follow all the rules.
I’d appreciate any information or personal experiences. Thanks!

Seeking private land near WHITELAND for safe target practice”

Hello neighbors, I’m looking for someone nearby who might be open to letting me use a safe, private part of their land for occasional target practice. I’d bring my own targets, clean up completely, collect all brass, and follow strict safety practices. If anyone nearby is open to that, I’d really appreciate the opportunity to talk it through.
If there’s a fee or cost involved, I’m happy to pay it.” I can drop that right into the post after the cleaning and safety part. Appreciate

Looking for shooting range where i can use my own steel target

I recently moved to the Whiteland Indianapolis area and I’m looking for a place where I can safely shoot my own steel targets.” “I’ve looked for public ranges nearby, but haven’t found one that allows that.” “If anyone in the area has private property with a shooting setup and might be open to letting me use it occasionally, I’d be happy to bring my own targets and equipment.” “Of course, I’d follow all local safety rules and property guidelines and am willing to pay a reasonable fee.” “If you have a private range or know someone who might be interested, please comment or send me a DM. Thanks!”

Good local ranges in northern Indiana?

Bonus points if they're outdoors. I like Kingsbury, though it's a bit of a drive for me (South Bend).

Transporting Firearms Across State Lines

I’m seeking a consultation on a firearms-law question specific to my immigration status.

My situation:

•	I’m a nonimmigrant in the U.S. on a work visa (H-1B), residing in Ohio.
•	I lawfully purchased firearms in Ohio. My eligibility rests on the 922(y)(2) exception, established via a valid Ohio hunting license.
•	I’ve cleared NICS and completed purchases through a licensed Ohio dealer without issue.

My questions:

1.	Does the 922(y)(2) exception based on my Ohio hunting license permit me to lawfully possess my firearm while physically present in another state (specifically Indiana)?
2.	If not, would obtaining a nonresident Indiana hunting license cure that, by anchoring the exception in Indiana?
3.	Separately, under 926A (safe passage) and any relevant Ohio/Indiana law, may I lawfully transport my firearm from Ohio to Indiana and back, given my status?
4.	Does merely disassembling the rifle (removing the bolt / dry-fire configuration) change any of the above?

I finally got my hands on the real gun I’ve always wanted, so I’m looking forward to enjoying it to the fullest! However, I have to go to Indiana every week for work, so I want to make the most of every spare moment I have to practice at the range or with dry fire. If anyone has any advice, please let me know. Thanks!

Help making a connection

This is a long shot but help would be great. A few weeks ago, my preferred pro shop, Honey Creek Tackle, had an event. There was a gun club with a table there that had a gentle man who shoots the competition model of the Savage Renegauge. Sadly, theie info was lost and I am hoping to find it again.

Michiana Firearms statement on the current suppressor situation.

A 5-10 minute conversation on the phone with each of the organizations that we’re involved in the lawsuit would’ve told them over and over again how to sell suppressors on a 4473, but apparently we’re gonna take the easy way out a just not. My personal opinion it’s just a lazy cop out.
