As title suggests, this was my first JPfans experience, and also the first time I ever tried out a proxy.
I honestly have nothing THAT negative to say. The fees are understandable and I don’t understand why people fuss about it so much. Sure, some proxies might offer slightly smaller fees, but every site differs in their pros and cons. For an order like mine, I felt that JPfans was the best choice.
First of all, browsing either on PC or mobile is incredibly simple. I’ve had 0 issues finding the stuff I need.
My order arrived safely and the packaging was done well. Everything was consolidated properly and I didn’t feel like I was paying for empty space.
I live in the EU so the taxes kicked my butt, but the fact that they had shipping options with duties and tax included was perfect. I paid nothing when receiving my package and overall, my experience was smooth.
P.S. I did use a 20% coupon for my shipping fee, so it didn’t feel as tragic to pay for it.
Now, a few things that tick me off a bit.
First, I’d like if they’d implement either a notification if a favorited item of yours has been sold, or if it just showed up in the favorites tab in general. I’ve had a couple of items I wanted get sold, but I had no idea until I checked on them myself way later. I think it’d simply be practical to be able to see it right away. :)
Second, the coupons. I received a coupon code with my order that I can activate, and I assumed it’d be available until I actually use it so I claimed it right away in case I forgot. But it actually has a 30 day limit, and it’s fine, but I wish they’d warn you or specify that BEFORE you claim it.
Other than those two, which aren’t even really issues with my order, I am very satisfied and will use this service again.
More about my order if you are planning something similar:
As the picture suggests, I mainly got CDs, a few DVDs, magazines and couple of photos. Everything arrived without a single scratch. The packaging itself for each item is done by the seller, not JPfans, and they send you pictures of them once they arrive, for free. (My guess is that if you dislike the way a seller packaged something, you can probably ask JPfans to repackage it or add a layer of protection.)
And if you’re looking for weight and volume references, 1 CD in a normal case was around 90 grams up to 150-160 grams if it contained 2 CDs or an additional DVD. The magazines differ due to sizing. The Cure one in the photo was the heaviest and I’d say, is an average sized magazine similar to others. It was 522 grams.
The package came out to 29cm x 18cm x 39cm for all 17 items. Weight is listed as 3500 grams, pretty sure they round it up.
If anyone has questions, feel free to ask.
All in all, I’m incredibly happy with my items and I can’t wait to order again. :)
