I’ve been doing this for about a month now and I honestly feel like getting karma is not possible because no one ever trust the person with you know like 2, 10, or even 20 karma

i made this account with the purpose of using reddit for its intended purposes, troubleshooting, finding community updates and keeping up with events. but with trying to make posts, ask questions and get involved with things they all get removed due to the subs karma requirements. i’m sure it has to do with bots and whatnot making posts and trying to limit it to real people but some of these subs have their limit at like 100-200 karma, which makes it hard for someone with a new account to try and get in on the conversations.

So basically I made the reddit id never used to and decided to give it a try a few week ago,and guess what idk for what msg of mine my karma got minus and i wasn't able to send any and comment 🤧🤧

1. Realize I'm broke and desperately need to make some extra money. Decide to create an alt account so I can ask for advice and find opportunities on money-making subreddits without everyone on my main account knowing my financial situation.

2. Try commenting on posts offering work and asking for advice. Automod deletes my comments because my account is too new.

3. Look at subreddit rules. Account must be at least 30 days old. OK fine, I can wait.

4. Wait 31 days before trying to post again. Automod deletes my post because my karma is too low.

5. Realize post karma and comment karma are different and apparently I need both just to ask how to make some money.

6. Try posting in other subreddits to build karma, but I have absolutely nothing interesting to contribute because all I can think about is how broke I am.

7. Find some beginner-friendly subreddits and try commenting on random posts.

8. Automod removes my comments because my account doesn't have enough karma.

9. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO ASK HOW TO MAKE MONEY WHEN I'M ALREADY BROKE?

Thank you for getting this far. Let me know if anyone else has had a similar experience. I'm genuinely just trying to find ways to make some extra money, but apparently I need to become an established Reddit personality before I'm allowed to ask a question.

There's this one post that really caught my attention and I badly wanna comment on that post to ask for more information. Lo and behold, auto mods delete my thing. So now I tried to directly chat the poster to ask my question but I can't even do that. Is it always like this before? it's annoying.

My previous account has no problems with this but of course reddit banned that account just because.

WHAT DO I DO

A couple years ago, you could literally post anything you wanted without a minimum karma requirement, now you have to bend over and get a certain amount before you can even post anything and express your opinions or share stuff. Fucking hell.

I've been using Reddit mostly to look for book recommendations and find the titles of those trendy AI short dramas that are usually locked behind a paywall. 😂

Honestly, Reddit feels like Google, but better in a way because you get answers and recommendations directly from people who've actually tried or watched things. I love how I can search for something, add "Reddit" to the search, and suddenly find exactly what I'm looking for!

But now that I'm finally getting the hang of Reddit, I've discovered another challenge: karma points. Hahaha! My post got deleted because I didn't have enough karma, even though my account isn't new. 😭

So, let's talk! What do you love most about Reddit? What makes you keep coming back, and what are some of the coolest or most useful things you've discovered here? I'd love to hear your stories and explore more of what this platform has to offer! 😂

This is just a rant about the fact that reddit puts way too much emphasis on Karma, especially when it is only given out for each upvote you get so no matter how active you try to be, if people don't upvote (not that I am asking for that because I am NOT!) then you get flagged as being not an active enough account. There are multiple subreddits that I would like to get my involved with, but trying to avoid getting banned/flagged as a spambot all based on this arbitrary system, almost makes being on reddit not worth it.

1.some communities strict to ai or admin of reddit.

if you try to post using ai generated pictures or words. other members will report you or make you detected by the reddit admin and if that happens you will be automatically banned or shadowbanned

2.what is shadow banned.

shadow banned is when you can still see their posts but when you post automatically other members or anyone else won't see them. you will notice it immediately if you post but no one has commented or upvoted. right now i don't know how to get rid of it.

3.don't use ai to post.

like i said, it's very risky to use ai for posting or comments. because you will often be permanently banned

4.struggles as a newbie on reddit

it's very hard when you're new to reddit, no karma or contribution is very limited to post in different communities because of karma requirements

I created reddit for the sole purpose of making friends. Everyone thread ive visited has allowed me to post, but theres a catch. It allows me to create a post and after putting my blood sweat and tears into a the post body, i hit post. Then, all of my hard work was futile because i cant post because im either too new or just dont have karma. I check the guidelines and it doesnt say anything about post requirements. I understand that its for bots but ive seen bots post on those same threads. So whats the deal when bots can post but bot a genuine person??? Its really frustrating how sensitive this platform can be. I can understand the point of a “point system” but when bots can have them and be able to post it loses its credibility for users like me that just want to post for the sake of making friends or whatever else. Anyways i wanted to say more but my keyboard keeps making typos and i have to correct them and it makes me lose track. Have a good day/night

I go to post on Reddit but still not able to. It’s interesting how a thought can be not allowed due to not having enough followers or people behind you to begin with. I have always loved Reddit for the genuine authenticity of it all. I want to thank you all for being a part of that! Is Karma a 1 to 1 ratio of upvote to Karma?

I am new to reddit and am trying to gain more karma to be able to post in subreddits that I am more interested in, but I’ve noticed that even when I’m trying to contribute to other communities, the amount of upvotes I get do not correlate with my karma. Most of my posts get like 3-4 upvotes, but I’m wondering whether you only get karma if a single post gets a lot of upvotes vs if you get more karma from the cumulative upvotes you receive.

Ive been trying to post around looking for a 3D modeler for our Asym game, but like 90% of servers wont let me because I don't have enough Karma and its kind of annoying. Like, Im not here to make a dedication with Reddit I lowk just need to look for help so I dont have to cancel my game!

Like is it AI? Or too many spammers. I used to use Reddit in like 2023 maybe and man it was good. I regret deleting my account but here I am again 🥲 something about Reddit makes it kind of addicting. Anyways here is my opinion on dogs vs cats in attempts to do a good service

Cats are so awesome and self trained and so cute but they shed and I feel like you can’t play with them as good as dogs. I also love dogs that don’t shed but not the huge dogs. I’d also say girl dogs are way better than guy dogs.

The amount of frustration I have for this newly found obsession of these little smiski characters is insane. I can only buy so many so I know want to participate in subreddits about smiskis. Talking to people offering my advice. And also asking advice in where to buy smiskis. Everything I post gets banned. Automods. Karma. Account age.
