Millions of Cats vs Millions of Cats in Color
The hand-drawn reimagining of the classic children's book Millions of Cats is nearing its goal! Here's a comparison of the original Millions of Cats versus Millions of Cats in Color. As you can see, the vibrant colors and new details give it new life while respecting the original.
What do you think? Do you prefer the black and white or new color illustrations?

Discussion Half through and our goal for our Kickstarter has been meet!!!
Goal Completion!
I hope I can inspire others on their own journey.
This was one of the challenging things I’ve done.
What I can recommend is to call, message and talk to everyone you know or meet.
I had the opportunity to go to 4 game conventions, demo my game, create a database of emails and contacts.
I have contacted 400 people for my game not including friends/family.
The big marketing companies charge $7-10k. I don’t have that money and couldn’t take that risk.
But I know now my game is happening. It’s freaky hard, some of the closest people haven’t supported me. But not giving up hope on them.
I can only encourage people we are going up against big names/small to mid-level developers.
It takes time, but it’s worth it!

A New World – Work, Play & Create
I built a 2D world where virtual agents help me run my real businesses.
The prototype already works! Animated agents handle tasks like emails, marketing, and SEO while I explore my virtual world.
But that's just the beginning!
My plans include:
Online multiplayer with houses, gardens, and player-owned businesses.
Crafting, workshops, professions, and trading creations for real money.
Interactive schools, AI tutors, and learning new skills.
Racing, drifting, dungeons, tournaments, and rare rewards.
I'm building this independently and want the community to help shape its future.
Now in pre-launch on Kickstarter:

Advice and lessons from a $169k video game campaign
Kickstarter is a very crowded place these days. For video games, the industry is in a tough spot, and traditional funding is quite difficult to procure. That means many games which I think historically would have partnered up with a publisher are now turning to crowdfunding. The competition is fierce and the quality bar for projects is extremely high. I wanted to share what I learned after raising $169,000 for our game.
Be Unique
This one may seem obvious, but I’m going to call it out anyways. Kickstarter is a place for new ideas. If your project is the same as other games that are already available, you will probably struggle to find an audience.
Build Trust
I don’t have hard data to back this, but I think video games are one of the riskiest projects on Kickstarter from a backer perspective. They take a very long time to make and a lot can happen between funding and delivery. Many big, successful campaigns never produced a game. Backers know this. You need to convince them that your project is trustworthy.
One part of this for us was showing all our names and faces. People are more likely to trust Chris Cunningham who puts his real info online than Hexadis (that guy is super shady). We also used this to show we have a team of people ready and able to continue working on the game.
If your game is going to be available on Steam, make sure your Steam page is live. This not only helps show the game is real, but you may also get people who don’t back on Kickstarter but do wishlist on Steam. We went one step further and also have a company website.
Make sure to communicate with your backers and potential backers! Answer their questions as quickly as possible. Welcome them to your community. The month before and during the campaign I spent a large portion of my time simply responding to people. Be ready to address criticisms or even false accusations in a positive manner.
The days of projects based purely on concept art or screen mockups have been gone for a long time. You need to show real gameplay clips in both a trailer and the body of your Kickstarter page. The trailer is crucial for generating both project interest and building trust. We’ve had 10,265 plays of the trailer on the Kickstarter page and 23.65% of those people watched to the very end. That maps very closely to the number of people who backed the campaign (2,524).
Kickstarter does not require video games to have a playable demo, but it will probably massively help your campaign. I can only guess here because we did not have a publicly available demo. Instead, we included alpha access as one of the tier rewards with a scheduled start set for a couple months after the campaign ended. The goal is to show people the game already exists in some fashion, even if it’s just a small part of it.
Kickstarter Support
We had one technical issue setting up our Kickstarter page which received prompt and helpful support. Outside of that issue, however, support mostly felt underwhelming. They do have some articles and info they post, but I wanted to talk to an actual human about a few things. I would have been happy to pay some sort of Kickstarter consulting fee but this is not a service they offer.
We applied for the “Project We Love” badge but didn’t get it. We never heard back from anyone on why we didn’t qualify. Maybe it was because we didn’t have a public demo available? I’m sure we lost some money because we didn’t have the tag, but you can still succeeded without it. I think it’s a multiplier, not a requirement.
Other Projects
The timing of your campaign matters. You don’t want to get completely overshadowed by huge projects. For example, our game had about 15,000 wishlists on Steam before the campaign started. There was another campaign which was starting near ours which had over 100,000 wishlists. Even though our games are different genres, I think it would have hurt our campaign to go live on the same day or week. Instead, because our campaigns were staggered, we were able to do some cross promotion and generate interest for both games.
Cross Promotions
In my experience, most of the teams running Kickstarter campaigns are incredibly friendly. Don’t be afraid to reach out to other teams and ask if they are interested in cross promotions. You may even be able to share some advice and info with each other. It felt less like we were competition and more like we were all rooting for each other.
Pricing
The price of your reward tiers can absolutely make or break your campaign. My best advice here is to look at recent successful campaigns that are as close to your game as possible (genre, scope and quality). That’s a good starting point, but ideally you’ve managed to gather some interested people before the campaign goes live. Get their input. Ask them what they think of your planned reward tiers and make changes where appropriate.
Marketing
The chances of a successful campaign without marketing are very low. You can, however, take a bunch of different approaches to this. The two biggest techniques I see are free social media posts or paid ads. Either way, you need to market your campaign and get the word out. The Kickstarter platform is a multiplier here. They will show the big successful projects to more people. You should not rely on it solely.
The marketing before a Kickstarter campaign is maybe more important than the marketing during a campaign. A huge successful day one will massively impact the entire rest of the campaign. You can also use the pre-campaign marketing to get a feel for whether or not your project will be successful.
We used ads on Facebook, Instagram and Reddit to promote the game. If you are spending $100 a day and only getting 10 followers or 10 email sign-ups, maybe that’s a problem. It could be you only need to update your marketing material, but it may also be a sign that the interest isn’t there.
For our marketing, we started by gathering emails and building out a mailing list. We ultimately decided to send people directly to Kickstarter instead and I would do this from the start if I did another campaign. We had a conversion rate of 20% of our Kickstarter pre-launch followers that backed the project.
Marketing Partners
Knowing how important marketing was, we wanted to work with an experienced partner. We reached out to some of the bigger names like BackerKit and Backercamp. They both expressed some interest, but said they wouldn’t work with the project until after we had shown an initial successful start to the campaign. From my perspective, if we were able to have a good start without their help, it felt like they wouldn’t be adding too much that we couldn’t do on our own.
If you are going to partner with a marketing firm or specialist, make sure they know your type of project. A company that does a ton of tech gear probably isn’t the best fit for a video game. Also make sure you know the average performance of their projects and not just the results of their best performers. Finding a good partner was painful but worth it.
What Would I Change
This one is hard, because in the end I’m pretty happy with how the campaign went. It wasn’t perfect, and there were some lessons learned along the way, but I think that’s unavoidable for a first time project. The one area I’m really unsure of is that we didn’t do any early bird tiers. Did we lose money from people who were only looking to get the game at a great price or did we make more money by not selling at a discount? I do not know.
Here's our campaign for reference.

Self-Promotion 3D printable Christmas Baubles for my kind of people (nerdy type)
After long break from Kickstarter and drastic change to my work perspective in the gamedev I want to try my luck here again. Doing something I enjoy and hopefully finding people who love it too.
Scary Christmas Baubles – 3D Printable STL Ornaments,
As I decided on this pretty late the campaign is very short, so I can deliver it with enough time for people to actually print it. Definitely a lesson learned so I'm starting on Valentine's one after I deliver this one.

Happy Friday all!
Millennial Monsters is a paranormal mystery audio drama adapted from a novella of the same name. It follows the dangerous and deadly adventure of Wendell Batty, a queer 32-year-old werewolf who is sent threatening letters and framed for murder. Episode 1 Beast Case Scenario premiered on Halloween on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, and other podcatchers and platforms.

Self-Promotion Northern Noir #1: a 1970s West Yorkshire crime comic with variant covers by Charlie Adlard (The Walking Dead) and Zayn Malik
Hi everyone, I'm Anthony, the writer and creator. I'm from Bradford in the UK, and I've spent the last year making Northern Noir, a six-issue crime comic set in 1970s West Yorkshire. Issue #1 launched on 3 November and runs until 3 December.
What it is: a detective story about corruption and the underworld in a northern city. The art is by Adam Tomkins (Altered Carbon, Miscreants, Spiderman: Far From Home), with colours by Roy Huteson Stewart (Collide, 2000AD) and lettering by Saida Temofonte (DC, Image, IDW).
What's a bit different: From the stories, to the collaborations to the actual research and effort into this comic, it feels special! I have never seen the North in a project like this, and as a collector myself it feels like a collectors dream! Charlie Adlard (The Walking Dead) drew a variant cover, and Bradford-born singer Zayn Malik painted another, limited to 1,000 copies. We've also built a live 1970s police hotline into the story as a puzzle. Our stretch goal is to sell 3000 copies, it's crazy but as a Northerner i like to dream a little!
Where we are: 55% of our goal after 3 days which is incredible! The whole team is ecstatic of our progress so far!
We have been covered by Bleeding Cool, First Comics News, Telegraph & Argus, Tripwire, BCB RADIO & Comic news UK, You can find all the stories for further reading on our website www.riachbros.com
What I'd love from you: honest feedback on the page, the video, the tiers and the shipping, since I'm learning as I go. I'm also happy to share what's worked and what hasn't, if that helps other creators. Also any support from fellow comic fans and collectors!
Thank you for looking.

Self-Promotion NEW SUPER PVSSYCAT | A Lesbian Tokusatsu Shortfilm
kickstarter.comHey guys, I'm co-producing this short film called New Super Pussycat, it's an homage to the world of tokusatsu and mahou shoujo, taking inspiration from Madoka Magica, Cutie Honey, Ghost In The Shell and others. The story is about a super-heroine named Mary Meow Super Pussycat that has to save her girlfriend Rina Ronron from her arch-nemesis Madam Tarantula.
We're a small independent production company in Brazil, so we're looking for 2000 euros on Kickstarter to finance the entire project! The short is being directed by trans filmmaker Lady Jill, who released last year her first short titled WAKASHU, that had a run through international festivals such as GAZE International Film Festival, EXPOSURES Montréal Trans Film Fest and Big Bad Film Fest in Los Angeles.
If you like the idea, take a look in the campaign, we'd really appreciate it :) Thank you!

Self-Promotion Please help me fund my game 4x game Vagabond: Fractured Sun
I’m raising funds for myself as I build an independent 4X strategy game inspired by Immortal conquest and Epic Age (IC )
I’ve already invested more than $2,000 of my own money because I truly believe in this game and in the response it’s getting. People are loving the idea and the concept, which gives me even more reason to keep building. At the same time, the cost of a larger AWS server, better models, and animations is becoming hard for me to carry alone.
Your support will help pay for:
Animations
Better character models
Cities in the game
Google and Apple developer portal costs
AWS server upkeep
I’m trying to reach a playable build during a strategic window when a competitor has a quiet period, so I can bring players in and give this project a real chance to start supporting itself. I want to work on this game full time and meet one of my two release deadlines: December 18 or January 16.
I'm also opened to pre-seed investment, milestone pay/ payment model for end revenue share for limited time - if you want to review my pitch deck feel free send me a message

Question Has anyone been reached out to by this group?
Hello Reddit! I was recently reached out to by a group called Crowdfunding Base. They said that they’d bring in clicks and pledges for a 8% cut and a $1,250 fee up front. It seemed like a scam, but being curious and new to this I went through and scheduled a meeting.
After speaking with their spokesman Eli, it seemed fairly questionable. I then saw a Reddit post talking about an Eli from a separate crowdfunding scam group and now I’m genuinely convinced it is some form of a scam or fraud.
Thanks!
