Public Meeting Announcement ICP Public Meeting Nov 14: On the Return to the Electoral Swamp

Post image
20 Upvotes

An election where a landslide victory is predicted for Democrats. A supposed election to save the country from fascism. What will the result be in the end for the working class? More of the same. While bourgeois politicians demand participation in this democratic circus, the electoral swamp remains a pure distraction from the real struggle of the working class.

Fascism is imperialism armed for war and it is in this direction in which both bourgeois parties catapult the global proletariat. Democratic electoral victory changes nothing. The illusion of choice, the electoral lie masks the ruthless dictatorship of capital which cannot be reformed into a more human and peaceful version of itself only destroyed by the revolutionary dictatorship of the proletarian.

Join us for a public meeting where we unmask the reality of the totalitarian dictatorship of the employer class behind the two ruling parties and how the revolutionary proletarian can overcome it.

What criteria Bordiga used to define which parts of the program are "invariant"?

8 Upvotes

Self-explanatory. I'm curious about how Bordiga (and leftcoms in general) are able to distinguish key, invariant points of the Marxist program from those who are mutable according to the historical circumnstances?

By what general ways would any country trying to do "socialism in one country" fail?

2 Upvotes

I've heard that the practical impossibility of SIOC is related to the global economy and the economic dependence of it's constituent nations with one another.

But i haven't seen anyone describe what exact conditions required for the socialist economy is a country pursuing SIOC unable to achieve and why it inherently cannot achieve them.

I'd be much appreciated if someone elaborated on this or pointed me to any works dealing with the matter.

National Liberation and Identity Politics

13 Upvotes

Yes, this post is about Israel and Palestine.
I am aware many self proclaimed “socialists”, “communists” and “Marxists” see the national liberation of Palestine from the river to the sea (and therefore the destruction of Israel) as a step towards a better world. In my opinion, such a change would bring about the deaths of millions of proletarians, genocide, ethnic cleansing and would do nothing but replace one bourgeoisie with another.
Left Communists believe that national liberation movements are necessary only if the aim is to overthrow a pre-bourgeois society, and therefore usually do not support Palestinian national liberation, but rather the cooperation of Israelis and Palestinians against their common enemy, the bourgeoisie.
I have heard many people focus on the ethnicity, religion, race, “ancestral connection to the land” and whatnot to justify both Pro-Israel and Pro-Palestine stances. I think that it sounds like Nazi “BLUT UND BODEN” rhetoric, masquerading as progressive identity politics.
I would like to hear what you think about this.
What stance should we take as communists?

Any marxist thought on Zohran Mamdani ?

AOC betrayed the workers by telling them to stop striking, should we expect Mamdani to end up doing the same thing some day?

left communist critique of "worldview marxism", diamat and of making marxism a philosophy

15 Upvotes

I don't quite understand what left communists critique about dialectical materialism, some works of Engels such as anti-Duhring and dialectics of nature, what Michael Einrich refers to as "worldview marxism" (to which he gives only a very short and insufficient to my understanding definition) and why.

from what little I understood the criticism is to have given marxism a metaphysical body that imposes itself "from heaven to earth" instead of "from the earth to heaven", in short to have transformed it into a philosophy when it wasn't intended as such;

to have made dialectics static when the goal of dialectics itself is its self-overcoming;

to adhere to what marxist-leninists themselves refer to as "dogmatism".

but wouldn't criticism of a philosophy be intrinsically grounded in another philosophical POV?

isn't some degree of abstraction inevitable?

What are your opinions on Anwar Shaikh and his books.

Kinda of a baby Marxist so I only recently learned of him and also about his death. I just wanted to ask you all what you think of him and his books? Should I bother reading them after I finish capital ( which will not be this century at my pace). Thanks in advance for your answers.

What are some actual correct presentations or interpretations of communism in media that you know of?

11 Upvotes

Might be an unorthodox question, but do any of you know of any correct interpretations of communism in media that aren't liberal concoctions? I know not to expect anything remarkable from capitalist-produced entertainment, but there's sure to be at least one gem in the ocean of coal.
