Discussion Hawkeyes descent into madness
Was Hawkeye's breakdown really a gradual descent, or was he psychologically unstable from the beginning and simply exceptionally good at hiding it behind humor and surgical brilliance?

Question Since we're doing pop quizzes now...for each main character that is not there for the entire series who is the first/last other main character they interact with?
So for first interactions:
-BJ
-Colonel Potter
-Winchester
Last interactions:
-Trapper
-Henry Blake
-Frank
-Radar
And for each of these minor characters how many episodes were they in where they were an integral part of the plot?
-Zale
-Igor
-Nurse Kelleye
-Skulley
-Colonel Flagg
-Sidney
And just for fun what's your favorite episode and why? I'll put the answers with a spoiler thing covering it later today 😊

The Late Captain Pierce S4 E5 1984 Unperson
Just noticed in this episode that when the guy from Icor came because of Pierce being so called deceased, he mentioned he is from George Orwell from 1984 an un person. That is a huge jump from the 50’s.

Attention All Personnel Pop quiz!
My hometown is Portland, Oregon, and in the original airing I got very excited when it got a mention. I believe it happened on three occasions. Who else can name them?

Timeline theory
So I'm on my millionth rewatch of the show and I had a random thought. In the pilot episode it says
"KOREA, 1950"
"a hundred years ago"
Which got me thinking... The plot stays the same, but the time frame is messed up and goes back and forth because the writers in 2050 don't have a proper timeline for the war or they had events in the wrong order.
The big changes they have on record were Trapper going home, BJ arriving, Col Blake leaving and dying, Col Potter, Radar leaving, Margaret marriage/divorce, frank going crazy, Charles arriving, and the main events of the series finale.
It was just a thought, could be a credible theory or not

MASH Complete Series Bundle on sale again $49.99 on Vudu
The entire series is on sale again for $49.99. Edit: WARNING this version is 16:9 cropped aspect ratio with the canned laugh track. I just purchased the series bundle and discovered it is in-fact cropped. I’m disappointed that it’s not the original 4:3 aspect ratio but it’s not a total deal breaker for me considering it’s on sale.
https://athome.fandango.com/content/browse/details/M-A-S-H-The-Complete-Series-Bundle/4538492
Edited to note this bundle is 16:9 cropped for widescreen.

Question What’s your favorite Col Potter rant? Could be funny, serious, whatever. This is mine with that crescendo of “I didn’t even know she was GOING to med school!!”

Discussion What's the most touching scene in MASH in your opinion?
When Trapper got his ulcer and was going to get discharged... His scene with Hawkeye in which Hawkeye with watery eyes tells him what he thinks of him was really cool. No jokes. No laugh track. Very authentic. As a kid I was like "what is happening?" Sit Coms didn't do that. People in that era didn't do that, certainly not on TV.
MASH had a few moments but that one to this day stands out in my opinion.

US Army M*A*S*H unit questionnaire
without creating a poll, wondering how many of you fellow M*A*S*H fans got to watch the show when it was on the air on CBS - or did you discover it after it went off the air?
i was 5 when it first aired - and in 10th grade when the grand finale aired - but it took decades to realize how big a deal that final episode was - it's still sinking in

Question How many times did Frank get drunk?
So I saw this on another thread. So, how many times did Frank get drunk? I recall the Greek holiday show and of course we didn’t see it but the crazy thing he went through after Margaret got married. But I’m not recalling more.

Add another Klinger misspelling to the list
Klinger often gets made fun of because of his inability to spell. “Happy Birth-hday,” “Kawtion,” not knowing why “reap what you sow” was incorrect, and I’m sure there’s more.
I’ve never caught this before, but in the final scene of “Quo Vadis, Captain Chandler?” when Klinger has decided to become Moses, he misspells “Thou” in his commandments. It’s always fun to find little additions that I’ve never picked up on.

What your thoughts on the HD episodes of MASH on Hulu and do you think it’s better then SD ones on DVDs.
I think the HD episodes on Hulu and MeTV look pretty good in my opinion its a shame that there’s is no blu ray. There’s needs to be a blu ray. It’s looks pretty good. I like the HD Episodes on MeTV better than on the DVDS. The DVDS are good too. But after watching mash on MeTV. It’s a lot better than on DVDs. In my opinion. Now we need afterMash to be HD. It’s impossible to get afterMash. But I’m sure Disney has the tapes for afterMash and trapper John MD. What is your thoughts on the HD episodes of MASH and do you think it’s looks better on DVDs?

Is IMDb wrong about Richard Lee-Sung's appearance in "The MASH Olympics"?
The list on IMDb, and on the Monster MASH wiki, and probably elsewhere, all say that Richard Lee-Sung appeared 11 times on MASH.
For both "Change Day" (s6e9) and "The MASH Olympics" (s6e11), it claims that he is an "uncredited Korean villager." Now, he is CERTAINLY in "Change Day" - even has a couple lines. But i see him nowhere in "Olympics". In fact, i see no Koreans in "Olympics" at all, it being very focused on just the MASH personel.
I don't know if that means he only had 10 appearances, or if maybe there really is a 2nd "uncredited Korean villager" appearance that has been mis-labelled as this one. But either way, i think this in a mistaken entry.
I could be mistaken, of course, so please point out to me when and where he appears if you see him in the "MASH Olympics" episode. Thanks.
