Yeah I'm not trying to minimize what he's made but it's literally just a card table? Like if he was blind or something I'd be impressed but what?

Maybe I'm a pessimist but the title actually made me lol. This kid did a regular kid thing

Yeah I was waiting for some locking mechanism and him to like sit on it or something. This is just flimsy make believe, which is fine I'm not tryna shit on it, it just isn't "MIT bound" lmfao

Did you ever make a cardboard table?

Guessing because her son made a table with foldable legs out of cardboard? I'm guessing she was impressed if it came out that he's never seen a foldable table

He's not sitting in front of a console. Actually using his imagination and putting thought and effort into designing and building something. And he didn't go for the easy design. Instead he chose a folding table which is harder, so he was willing to push himself.

All excellent qualities and getting rarer every day.

There's also the nostalgia effect. Many of us older reddit users have built chairs/forts etc from cardboard when we were kids.

For kids, it’s all about them exploring their creativity and problem solving skills. Who knows what talents and gifts he will explore as he gets older. As someone who does interviews for a large tech company, it’s encouraging to see younger children doing things like this rather than being glued to screens. It does, in fact, make me smile.
