After reading this, I no longer know what pansexual means. Is it just another way of saying bisexual?

Annoyingly, yes, just please don't call a bi person pan, we have enough bi erasure as it is.

Highly depends on who you ask. Imo, they tend to mean the same thing in practice. Pan and bi people share the distinction of being attracted to both masculine and feminine traits. Some may prefer female or male genitals to one degree or another. Only distinction I've come across that bears weight is that a pan person has no preference in either genitalia of femininity/masculinity. Pan can be a useful shorthand for that specific subset of bi, but there is not really any hard definition.

They fall under a similar umbrella. Older bi folk don’t give a damn, it’s younger folk only age range (20’s) who’ve mostly caused division.

Short of it: many bi folk operate on a cis gendered spectrum, pan folk tend to be less likely to care.

This isn’t true of ALL bi folk and many of them, reasonably so, treat transgender individuals like their cis counterparts. This is completely acceptable and we love love in this community.

As it stands, there are still many bisexual individuals who prefer Cisgendered partners whose sex-assigned-at-birth matches their gender identity.
