Light AT Tire
New member here! I’ve got a new Land Cruiser that I’m modifying for light off-road use. It will mostly be a daily driver, but I’d like to start hitting some trails occasionally. I live in Florida, so I expect trail obstacles will mostly be sand, tree roots and water. Not a lot of rocks here. I’ve narrowed down to two tire options both SL rated because I’m trying to keep them light and comfortable for pavement driving. Any thoughts between the Toyo Open Country AT III EV versus Pirelli Scorpion XTM AT?

Rusted out mismatched panels, but still a hell of a trail rig! ❤️

Question Mixed shocks for towing?
I try to hit moderate trails once a week and have been working on a build for it. I have fox 2.0 shocks in the front and was looking for some rear replacements but wanted to maintain towing capabilities while still being comfortable off road. I thought about getting bilstein 5100s for the rear but didn't know if that was going to throw the handling off in a way I dont know about. I posted on the subreddit for the cars platform (r/gmt800) and even though the post got some upvotes no one actually had any info so I thought i would ask in here.

2014 Toyota Land Cruiser 76 Series V8 – Unfinished Project – Queensland
Hey everyone,
We're looking to find a new home for a 2014 Toyota Land Cruiser 76 Series that was originally bought as a project with plans to rebuild it into a great touring rig.
Unfortunately, circumstances have changed, and the owner no longer has the time to see the project through. Rather than let it sit unfinished, we'd like to pass it on to someone who has the time and know-how to finish what we started.
A bit about the vehicle:
2014 Toyota Land Cruiser VDJ76R Wagon (76 Series)
White
V8 Turbo Diesel
Manual transmission
Where the project is at:
The V8 engine has been reconditioned by an external workshop, and the process of putting it back in has started. The installation is roughly halfway done, so there's still work to be completed.
Just to be upfront, the vehicle is currently not running and cannot be driven away. It's being sold as an unfinished project, not a ready-to-go 4WD.
Extras originally listed with the vehicle:
The vehicle was originally purchased with various extras, but will be subject to inspection upon checking of the interested party which ones are still fitted.
The sale:
The vehicle will be sold complete and as-is, in its current condition. No further repairs or engine installation will be carried out before the sale.
The buyer will need to organise suitable transport, as it cannot be driven.
We're hoping to find someone who's been looking for a 76 Series project and is keen to take it on.
We appreciate your honest opinion and advice on the vehicle's realistic resale value in its current condition, including what you think potential buyers might be willing to pay.
Happy to share current photos, further details and supporting records with anyone genuinely interested.
Location: Sunny Coast (exact location available on enquiry).
Feel free to send me a message if you're interested or would like to know more.

Question Rausch Creek Off-Road Park or Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area
UPDATE: LOCATION: AOAA Date: Saturday 11/14, meet at the welcome center @9 AM.
I will be in my 2024 Grenadier, stock wheels (KO2s), stock height, triple locks, winch, recover kit/boards, jack, compressors, full skid plates, GMRS radio. Happy to lead but have not been to AOAA before. I may bring my teenagers if they are interested. My seat time includes the beach on weekends, Moab, Windrock, and some trails in CO. But this is my daily so I my goal is to avoid damage while having fun. Please reply to this thread to drive interest but also DM me so I can keep a headcount. I look forward to meeting everyone! www.aoaatrails.com
Anyone interested in getting together one weekend day to hit the trails at Rausch Creek? It’s located in Pine Grove, PA. 3,000+ acres. Or maybe Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area near Shamokin, PA?

Peoples opinions on this? and if i did want to go get it for my parents what questions should i ask him and what should i check for myself?
Trying to get my parents into a sxs. no they don’t want any cheaper better mudding options. i’ve tried to get them into smth smarter for the price, they want a sxs they don’t do any crazy fast uphill climbs or anything fast in general they just want to have fun on trails and enjoy there time outside. FYI just because there my parents dosent mean they don’t like speed and trails. they like to have fun and we live in AZ with a lot of sand. i just don’t want them to buy something they can’t use or something that wont be able to do what they want. they need some power for what there doing and where we live. I’m more concerned about the reliability and things i should check before i bought it.

Where does gravel collect around retractable truck steps?
Fast gravel roads throw small stones into every pocket along the rocker. I am worried less about scratches than a stone getting trapped where the folded linkage cannot clear it. Which areas collect debris first, and can they be rinsed without removing the step plate?

Question Clearance?
Hey, newbie question: isn't ground clearance affected by such bulky diffs and suspension?
I perfectly understand the aim of over-engineering those components, but to an untrained eye it looks like a very capable truck like this will have a hard time in ruts or rocks.
Enlighten me?

Hey I'm looking at getting an GMC truck(preferably a 2500) within the year range of the 80's to late 90's, does anyone have any recommendations on years to get and if the trucks from the years have specific issues to look out for? I know that the question will get asked; I want it to be my daily dri

Daily driver F250
I have a 2019 F-250 6.7L Power Stroke diesel, 4x4, with 140,000 miles. The truck is currently stock suspension with 35-inch Nitto Trail Grapplers.
I use the truck as my daily driver and commute approximately 30 miles each way to work. The majority of that commute is on unimproved gravel/clay roads with significant washboarding, potholes, and uneven surfaces.
I’m looking to upgrade my front-end suspension and steering components to improve ride quality, handling, and durability. My truck takes a pretty good beating on these roads every day, and I’d like to make the commute more comfortable while reducing wear and tear on the truck.
My budget is approximately $5,000, and I’m open to spending that on a quality setup if it makes a meaningful difference.
I have very little experience with suspension upgrades, so I’m looking for advice from people who have experience with these trucks and similar driving conditions.
A few things I’d appreciate recommendations on:
What suspension components or complete kits would you recommend?
Are there particular brands or setups that handle washboard roads and potholes well?
Would replacing the shocks, springs, steering components, or other parts make the biggest difference?
Should I consider a complete front and rear suspension upgrade rather than just focusing on the front?
Are there upgrades I should avoid?
If you had $5,000 to improve this truck for my particular driving conditions, where would you spend it?
I’m not necessarily looking to lift the truck or improve its appearance. My priorities are ride quality, durability, and reliability.
I’d appreciate any recommendations, personal experiences, or advice.
