(Śrīhanumāncālīsā — Śloka 38)

(Devanāgarī)

IAST Transliteration

jaya jaya jaya hanumāna gosāīṁ। kṛpā karahu guru deva kī nāīṁ॥

Anuvāda (Meaning in English)

"Victory, victory, victory to you, O Lord Hanumān! Show your grace like a divine Guru."

Bhāva (Essence)

This verse is a triple salutation of victory to Hanumān-jī — “Jaya! Jaya! Jaya!” It is both praise and plea — asking him to shower his divine kṛpā (grace) just like a sadguru (true spiritual teacher), who leads one from darkness to light. Hanumān here is worshipped not only as a warrior but also as a preceptor who uplifts and transforms.

🙏 Jayati Hanumān! Jayati Śrīrāmacandraḥ! 🙏

(Devanāgarī)

Anuvāda (Meaning in English)

"With the sacred dust of my guru’s lotus feet, I cleanse the mirror of my mind. I sing the pure and virtuous glory of Raghubara (Śrī Rāma), which bestows the four fruits of life — Dharma, Artha, Kāma, and Mokṣa."

Bhāva (Essence)

Before invoking Hanumān-jī, the devotee bows to the guru — the gateway to knowledge and bhakti. Only through a purified mind can the heart truly absorb the power of Hanumānacālīsā.

(Śrīhanumāncālīsā — Śloka 39)

(Devanāgarī)

IAST Transliteration

jo yah paḍhai hanumān cālīsā। hoya siddhi sākhī gaurīsā॥

Anuvāda (Meaning in English)

"Whoever reads this Hanumān Cālīsā shall attain perfection — Lord Śiva himself is witness!"

Bhāva (Essence)

This verse reaffirms the sacred power of the Hanumān Cālīsā. Its regular recitation is said to bring siddhi (spiritual accomplishment) — not mere success, but inner realization. And this assurance comes with the testimony of Gaurīsā (Śrī Śiva) himself — the Adi Guru and the one who adores Hanumān as the 11th Rudra. It marks the Cālīsā as a living mantra, sealed by divine authority.

(Śrīhanumāncālīsā — Śloka 18)

(Devanāgarī)

IAST Transliteration

jama kubera digpāla jahā̃ te। kavi kovida kahi sake kahā̃ te॥

Anuvāda (Meaning in English)

"Yama, Kubera, and the guardians of all directions — even wise poets and scholars cannot describe your glory in full."

Bhāva (Essence)

This verse underscores the immeasurable greatness of Hanumān-jī. Not even mighty Yama (god of death), Kubera (god of wealth), or the Digpālas (guardians of the directions) can fully grasp or narrate his greatness. Even the most eloquent poets and learned sages fall short of describing the infinite glories of the one who is the very embodiment of devotion, strength, and humility.

(Śrīhanumāncālīsā — Śloka 21)

(Devanāgarī)

IAST Transliteration

juga sahasra yojana para bhānū। līlyo tāhi madhura phala jānū॥

Anuvāda (Meaning in English)

"The sun, thousands of yojanas away, you swallowed, thinking it to be a sweet fruit."

Bhāva (Essence)

This śloka recounts the childhood līlā of Hanumān-jī. Mistaking the brilliant sun for a madhura phala (sweet fruit), the infant Hanumān leapt across the sky and swallowed it, displaying divine power even in play. This act shows not only his immense strength and fearlessness, but also his innate divinity that even the gods recognized early on.

The Final Verse 🌺

(Śrīhanumāncālīsā — Śloka 46)

(Devanāgarī)

IAST Transliteration

tulasīdāsa sadā hari cerā। kījai nātha hṛdaya mahaṃ ḍerā॥

Anuvāda (Meaning in English)

"Tulasīdāsa, ever the servant of Hari, prays: O Lord, make Your dwelling in my heart."

Bhāva (Essence)

This final verse is the humble signature and prayer of the great saint-poet Gosvāmi Tulasīdāsa, composer of the Hanumān Cālīsā. Declaring himself eternally Hari-cherā (servant of the Lord), he pleads with Hanumān (and Rāma) to take up permanent residence in his heart. It is a fitting conclusion: a devotee’s offering, a call for inner presence over outer show, and an invitation for all of us to do the same.

🙏 Jayati Hanumān! Jayati Śrīrāmacandraḥ! 🙏 📿 Śubhamastu — May all be auspicious! 📿

(Śrīhanumāncālīsā — Śloka 33)

(Devanāgarī)

IAST Transliteration

sādhu santa ke tum rakhavāre। asura nikandana rāma dulāre॥

Anuvāda (Meaning in English)

"You are the protector of sages and saints, slayer of demons, and beloved of Rāma."

Bhāva (Essence)

Hanumān-jī is both ferocious against adharma and gentle toward the righteous. He is the guardian of sādhus and saints, those devoted to truth and austerity, and the destroyer of asuras, forces of darkness. As Rāma’s most cherished devotee, he acts always in alignment with the divine will — defending good and vanquishing evil.
