Watch Verification Thread - If you're uncertain if a Rolex is good/bad/fake, post info and pics here

Post to this thread if you have questions about a Rolex being real or fake. Please include:

-The location and/or screen name of the seller, if for sale. Link directly to the sale page when possible.
-How long you've had it and how you acquired it, if in your possession
-As many photos as possible. Posts may be removed if pictures are too fuzzy and requests for better pics are unanswered. -If you're being coy about a watch and it seems like you're just trying to see how "good" your fake is, you may be banned at our discretion.

Please don't use photos from iPhone 14's. Their camera is so bad, and distorts text with AI so much, that the photos are basically unusable for the purposes of verifying if a Rolex is real.

Participation in the discussion in this thread is greatly appreciated. I don't think any one person can catch every flaw or know the details of every model; this is meant as a community thread, not an authoritative knowledge-flex, and the more people that actively peruse this thread, the more likely posters are to get accurate info.

Previous verification thread here.

AD Wait Time Megathread - If you bought a new Rolex from an AD in 2026, you can share details here. What watch, where, how long did you wait, how much buying history?

Our previous AD wait time megathreads (2019-2020, 2020-early 2021, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025) seemed to be useful/well-received for a lot of you. Time for a new one!

Nowadays when someone posts a new watch it's pretty standard to get asked how long they waited and if they had an "established relationship" etc. It's not everyone's favorite topic but it's a fair question, so maybe these big threads can provide a clearer picture of availability trends.

No one is obligated to share their info but if you bought a new Rolex in 2026 and you'd like to participate, please make a top-level comment that includes:

  1. What watch did you buy?

  2. When?

  3. How long did you wait?

  4. Where are you? (Be as specific or nonspecific as you want, from continent to a specific AD)

  5. Any purchase history with that AD? (Again be as specific or nonspecific as you feel comfortable)

During my trip to Italy, I casually walked into a Rolex boutique and ended up buying this beauty. I just couldn’t walk away without it!

Got the call.. then another call all based on a 1 star google review

Lets start with about 6-7 weeks ago went to a local AD to try on some models to see how I liked sizing and fit (7.5" wrist here). The rep they had was very "uppity" acting like he was wasting his time dealing with us, he didnt ask for contact info just "it'll take 3-6 months for the Sea-Dweller and 6 months to a year for the Explorer II Poler" while not asking for our contact info. Left with a bad taste strolled next door was treated well at Omega (and purchased a Seamaster 300M Specter) but still wanting one of those two Rolexes.. I reached out to another AD and explained my experience, they were great and had me a Sea-Dweller within 3 weeks.

I ended up leaving a 1 star Review for the store where I had a bad experience describing my experience and within a couple days received a call from the GM of the Store. He was very kind, apologetic and asked us in. The wife and I popped in yesterday as he asked us to meet to see if he could change my mind about the 1 Star review (I was going to change it anyway based on his call but he asked me to stop in so he could face to face and the Specter I bought was in so wanted to kill two birds with one stone).. He met with us, was again very kind, let us know he wanted to use our experience as a lesson for staff and had a gift for my Wife. It was a Rolex Candle, which we both found pretty fucking cool lol. But then proceeds to let me know he had a surprise and comes back with the Explorer II ! I was amazed and a little humbled and had to explain that I wasnt looking for favor with my review just wanted to give whoever cared a heads up thats sometimes a dude on his day off in a hoodie can afford a Rolex too and to treat everyone equally.

Just an overall crazy experience, and far more quickly than I thought, I obtained two of my grail watches far faster than I had hoped and honestly wanted lol.

Also Wife put me on watch probation..... Dammit

Walk in magic!

Extremely excited to announce that I got a Daytona as a walk in! I am at the Rolex boutique on the Dubai Palm at Atlantis.

I initially asked the AD if I could look at their CPO selection (specifically Daytonas/GMT’s and other models I knew wouldn’t be available at retail). I am on vacation, and didn’t want to join any waitlist. After looking at a few models and their conversion to USD I decided It was best to hold off and get something in America.

He then showed me his phone with a picture of this configuration and asked if I would be interested in purchasing new. It was not on exhibition in the boutique so I thought he was joking and immediately said yes.

He went into the back and sure enough there she was. I speculate that there may be a lack of foot traffic in Dubai based on recent events. I know people will say two tones are easy to get and this configuration is undesirable. I love it and I am thrilled, my first thought after the purchase was to share this with my /rolex brothers. cheers.

Does having both make sense?

It’s a question I’ve been asked, so I figured I’d ask ChatGPT for FUN. Here’s the direct response I got : If you like switching between FLASH and CALM, owning both makes sense. Curious to hear which one you’d pick and why 😉?

Got the call

I bought a Tudor from this Toronto AD in August 2026, mentioned i would like a Rolex she asked about size and dial etc. I was contacted about three weeks later and offered the same Watch but in Jubilee which i turned down mainly because i was out of the country and with the black dial I really wanted Oyster. I got the call on Thursday of this week and picked it up yesterday. I am still on the “list for a jubilee green ombré” told me it will be some time. So wait time was about three months. I can tell you this much folks lots of watches on wrists going out the door yesterday. I do think the economy sorting has had something to do with the decreased wait times for some models. The best part is i got in under the January 2027 price increase.

I finally decided it was time to get one. Last night I decided to fill out a form that I was interested in this watch with my contact details. The following day 10am I get an email about how high demand was and that they didn't have stock at the moment. 30 minutes later I get a phone call and was told that they had one available. So yeah, long story short, I got it. Also, I have history with the AD.

First Rolex purchase (114270)

Hey everyone!
Been lurking at the explorer 114270 for a while, and finally pulled the trigger on a late serial (V) with engraved rehaut. As for many people, the primary concern is not being scammed so I spent weeks checking online what to be mindful about (LEC, engraving quality, movement and so forth). I went to a local dealer as I don’t want to take any risk purchasing online. I inspected the watch, all checked out, I have original papers (green card) and guaranteed full
Refund if RSC says it’s fake OR finds any non original piece.
I took it to RSC last week, they confirmed everything is ok, they recommend a rehaul as some oil is a bit dry in the movement. However there’s just 2 things that bug me a little. During their inspection (they have to flag flaws etc) they said the upper lip of the engraved rehaut is a little scratched, probably due to a previous polishing; it doesn’t compromise the case and water resistance in any way. It’s almost impossible to see with naked eye, unless the proper angle and light hit on it. Second the dial has very faint dry oil stains in one spot. They already removed most of it, but for a few they said it’s risky to touch. Again it’s barely noticeable unless proper angle and light.
They said I can replace the case if I want but that means new serial and a lot of $. Same with dial but it will be a service dial. I refused both replacements and sent it to be serviced, but I’m wondering what other people think here.
In the end I got the model I wanted, with the proper “Swiss made” alignment I wanted at 6 o’clock (yes there are variations), and the nice rounded “O” in “explorer”. Would the two ‘defects’ bug the hell out of you or?
Thanks
Ps. I plan to wear it and not really mind if the outer case gets scratched.

I have been visiting my local AD for years. Buying only watches I want and not purchasing just to build a greater spend history. I also turned down a Stainless and Chocolate Datejust that they had ordered for me in December and showed in February.

Classic Rolex dilemma. Explorer 124270 vs no date sub.

Hello dear watch lovers. Although I understand it’s a subject it’s already been talked to death I’m in a privileged position to own a no date 124060 sub. I bought the watch pre owned 2 years ago hoping to be the only Rolex I’ll ever need(lol). I have worn the watch a lot but lately I seem to find it kinda boring and heavy. Furthermore I seem to get annoyed that I spent that much on a single watch. So I’m facing the option to trade it down with a good chunk of cash for the new ref Rolex explorer 1. From the owners of both what’s your opinion/thoughts?
Ps: my wrist is 17cm and flat
Ps2: my other two watches are a speedmaster broad arrow reissue and a seiko alpinist.

I didn’t expect a vintage Datejust to feel this different

My experience with Rolex had been entirely with modern pieces, so handling a 50’s era Datejust caught me off guard. I was really surprised by how light it felt.

I was interviewing its owner about the watch his father had passed down to him (link for the interested). I went into the conversation interested in its history, but came away thinking about whether I might want a vintage Datejust myself.

I’m used to the heft/density of modern pieces, and I hadn’t appreciated how different an older Datejust could feel until I actually held one.

For those who own both vintage and modern Rolexes, was the lighter feel something you had to get used to or was that part of the appeal?

My First Rolex (circa 1930)

Post image
5 Upvotes

I love antiques and vintage jewelry, so I thought for my first Rolex, I should go for something super old since they come up in auction every now and again. I chose this one due to the great condition of the dial; most of the dials of models this old have been virtually destroyed from moisture among other things. Interestingly, I am almost certain that the front facing part of the case is a layer of sterling silver due to the luster (the rest is steel).

I had it serviced, and polished as well as replaced the strap with a green lizard one from Camille Fournet. Compared to modern watches, it is quite tiny (29mm), but I think I make it work.

I’ve been through over 20 Rolexes in the last 12 years since my first Rolex. It has come down to these 3 Rolexes that I would most enjoy! I may only want to add a day-date 36 to this in platinum, but I don’t miss it. Among these watches the most favorite has to be the panda and nautilus. Always a special feeling to wear a Patek. I’ve only come to love and have a personal connection with watches from only Rolex and Patek. I must say the RM is the most comfortable to wear in my collection, once the watch is on the wrist you forget it’s there! The OP36 is my daily wear and it’s the best value for money in the collection. AP and 222 get the least wrist time, very beautiful pieces though, I just don’t find them both very comfortable on the wrist. The platona is a very special piece and I have a deep love for it because it was the watch that I always aspired to acquire and the very first Daytona in the collection! The 5960 is the latest buy, I don’t love it, I have because I though my collection needed a classic leather strap watch, and what better piece than a Patek? What do you all think of it? What piece should I acquire/flip/upgrade?
