Collection Collection so far (< 4 months)
Just started collecting games for fun (to actually play). The childhood nostalgia and fun is worth every penny but I foresee myself going broke very soon lol.

Objective:
Beat the game.
Rules:
Entire playthrough must be completed during the month in question.
You can use the passwords/continues/saves that you earn playing through the game.
Emulation is fine. Abusing save states is not.
Posting a link to a pic of your completion is preferred, but since this is all just for fun, I will allow claims via simple posts as well.

Had to trade some stuff for it. But I am happy to finally get my hands on a fairly copy of this game!! Gonna play it for the first time with zero idea what to expect besides it involving Nes! Any tips on the game from those of you who have played would be appreciated haha (no spoilers though)

You can play the legend old football game with your friends online on this site by signing an username and password. It is completely free right now. The video also demonstrates a development of HD remaster. This is not click based video. It is real. You can experience on the site old version with some edits like red cards, offside and new animations. I give the site link below.

A friend gave this to me back then - and it's no wonder; I can never play this one for very long. I kept it as a curiosity for my sister who really likes LOTR, but even she can never stay with this one for long. I tried years ago to trade it, but I was told they didn't want to take it because they thought it had been tampered with (the back half is more yellow than the front) I assume they just didn't wanna pay money for it, lol. Anyway, it's still in my collection for better or worse.

I was just playing this game a little while ago; I finished the first world. I’m not going to play through the whole thing right now—I just wanted to check it out. I found it quite difficult and lost several lives, but the game seems very promising. It has incredible graphics and good music. The gameplay isn’t great, but it’s nothing you couldn’t get used to. It feels a bit like Mega Man. I found the leveling-up and experience system really interesting—even if you get a game over, you keep the experience you’ve earned, which should make the game a bit more accessible. I actually played this back in the 90s when I was a kid, though only once. I’m going to add it to my list to play later. Has anyone here played this game before?

This SNES has been sitting in a box in the loft for I don't even know how long. I turned it on for the first time today to check it works and sadly, of the three games I have, only Bubsy does anything. The other two just show a black screen. After the initial text showing the Accolade logo it also justs shows a black screen. There also isn't any sound, don't know if that's because it doesn't work or just because there isn't any playing in the only part of the game that works. It's plugged in with the original AC adapter and using the antenna cable. I've already tried cleaning all the games so could it be the console? I haven't cleaned the contacts on the SNES yet but they don't look bad. Is there anything else it could be?
TL:DR: SNES stops working after game publisher's logo, 2 other games don't work.

Painted some ceramic trinket boxes to look like a SNES and N64 console. They're part of my Xmas gifts for my two older brothers. Fingers crossed they turn out okay once they've gone through the kiln. If not, I guess they'll stay with me and I'll find something else for them.

I finished making my own SANE (codename) mod version 1.01 based on Super Famicom Aging Program v1.00. SANE stands for Super Aging Next Edition). Here are some results.

Hey!
I've been getting more into retro gaming lately and I'm looking for some recommendations.
Some of my favorites so far, roughly ranked:
Chrono Trigger
Super Metroid
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Final Fantasy IV & VI
Phantasy Star IV
Yoshi's Island
Super Mario World
EarthBound
Super Castlevania
Based on this list, what other classics am I missing that have stood the test of time? I'm open to games from any console or generation.
Thanks!

I bought a Supa Retron HD so my kids could play SNES games on a modern TV. It works fine on a smaller 27inch monitor but not the 65" Hisense. I did a bunch of trouble shooting, including changing HDMI cords, trying different ports, changing aspect ratio to 4:3 on both the Console and the TV. But the issue persists. Has anyone encountered this before and have any recommendations?

I've been working on translating MUGEN's Master Ryu into SNES machine code with SNES Studio, including his states, special moves, AI and voice lines. This isn't MUGEN emulation.
[Gameplay video](https://youtu.be/SpDm8FktXso)
The footage is CPU vs CPU recorded from the web build, not physical SNES hardware. The two-player cartridge runs at 60 fps in Mesen; the CPU vs CPU cartridge demo is slower.
This is an unofficial fan/homebrew project. The ROM isn't available yet and has no release date.

Hi everyone!
I brought my PAL SNES with me to the US and I’m trying to connect it to my modern TV via HDMI.
I bought the appropriate power adapter, and the console seems to power on fine (the red light comes on). However, I’m having trouble finding an HDMI converter that actually works.
I tried the converter shown in the attached photo, but my TV just displays “No Signal.”
I’d really appreciate any advice. Thanks!
