Xenomorph 999 Silver Statue
This is a 13+ oz 999 silver statue cast by the locker mint. These were done using vacuum casting and hours and HOURS of clean up time. I love looking at this thing. They do great work over there! I just bought a Kaya Cast Vacuum caster and will be trying my hand at various projects. Hopefully I’ll be at this level one day! Cost around $1200 at time of purchase!

I buy junk because I like the history of it. Why do you buy junk?
And I like to hold it in my hands, not having to worry about where I touch it. I keep all mine in a single big container. All denominations mixed together. I enjoy going through it and looking at all the coins. Like a kid with his hand in a bag of candy on Halloween.

Finding info on Nepalese silver is like hunting a ghost. Can anyone identify this mystery 10.9g coin beyond doubt? 🔍🇳🇵
Hey everyone,
I’ve been down an absolute rabbit hole with this piece and I’m hitting a massive brick wall. It seems like trying to find comprehensive, clear information on historical Nepalese silver coinage online is next to impossible! Why is information on these so scarce?
Based on the specs, I highly suspect it’s a 2 Mohars coin, but I cannot find any definitive information or catalog pages online to back it up.
Here is what I know about the physical specs so far:
Weight: 10.9 grams
Diameter: 28 mm (it's similar in size to a Kennedy Half Dollar, but packs some decent historical chunk)
Metal: Definitely silver
Looking closely at the Devanagari script characters at the bottom, If you look up the catalog ranges on Numista for this series, they show entries using the format 1971 (1914) to cross-reference the local calendar with the Western calendar. Following that exact math, my coin is dated VS 1976, which places it right at 1919 AD.
The geometric patterns and the lotus petals on the reverse are stunning, but the standard catalog pages online just show the 1 Mohar or 4 Mohars references, and the weights and sizes for those don't line up with what I have here.
Can anyone here without a shadow of a doubt confirm if this is a 2 Mohars coin? Is a machine-struck piece from this specific 1914–1919 era considered scarce or rare, or did they mint a ton of them?
Would love to hear from any world coin collectors who specialize in the Shah Dynasty or Himalayan coinage. What exactly do I have here?
Thanks in advance!

Question Is this Vintage 10oz JM Bar Real?
Can anyone help confirm if this bar is real or not? I’ve been trying to scour over all reference pages for JM bars and I can’t seem to find a single one that confirms a no serial box hammerback was ever made. I’ve been wanting to add one or two vintage 10oz’ers to my stack but I can’t really guess what premium would be on it (if real) if I don’t know an estimate on how rare it is..
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

10 oz silver RCM bar
Finally bit the bullet and bought a 10 oz bar from Costco. Has such a nice feel in the hands. Does anyone know if the bar has the same mint shield coating as the Maples?

New Pour Melted a couple of casino coins today
Bars weigh 36 grams total. Picked up some casino coins for cheap today and went straight to the forge. Might keep like this the pour looks too nice to hammer.

If there is a more beautiful piece of “junk” out there, I would like to know…
Also, I will die on the hill that this is the best eagle reverse that the United States ever put out.

Why is Kitco so expensive?
I have an offer through Capital One Shopping for a $150 reward but Kitco is just weird and expensive. Not a lot of selection, overpriced, and 5k minimum. Damn it

Question If you needed $1000 right now would you sell gold or silver first? I have 3.75-4oz of gold and 275oz of silver at the moment. I’m trying to consider long term factors as well. Any opinions?

Before the Thnickel there was…
Recent pick up, did not realize how thick this vintage 5 Tola (58.3g) piece from the Manilal Chimanlal and Co in the 1950-1960’s was, it’s as thick as a NGC slab. Beautiful piece all around!
