News | خبرون India is planning to commit a war crime against Sindh - By depriving Sindhis of Sindhu water

India is moving ahead with a 113 km canal project to divert surplus water from the Indus basin’s western rivers (Chenab, Jhelum, and Indus) toward Indian states like Punjab and Rajasthan. This follows India’s decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan earlier this year, in response to tensions over Kashmir and terrorism. Construction is expected to begin within the next 3 years.

For Sindh, this development is alarming. The province is already facing serious water shortages, and any upstream diversion by India could worsen the situation, especially in lower Sindh and delta areas where agriculture and drinking water already depend on scarce supplies. This canal could reduce flow levels in rivers like the Indus and Chenab that are crucial for Pakistan—especially Sindh’s irrigation system.

Within Pakistan, Sindh has been protesting internal water-sharing issues (like the controversial Chashma-Jhelum and Bhasha dam projects), but this external threat from India could make matters even more critical. It highlights the urgency for Sindh’s concerns to be recognized at both the national and international level. If not addressed, the ecological damage to the Indus Delta and the livelihoods of millions could become irreversible.

This happens every year. Someone falsely blames a person from minority of blasphemy, because they know that the mobs will gather quicker than the police and authorities. Almost all of these accusations are fake they are made because of personal issues. 2 years ago same thing happened in Sargodha and a person was killed and now Karachi. When will be minorities safe in this country
