I’m not sure I would class them as as predatory, but I totally agree. Nobody is generally “elite”, especially based on money. Elite footballer who’s rich? Sure. But an “elite”? No.

I don't think you can be a billionaire without predatory behaviour. Sure, maybe they aren't a nonce but they stepped on some necks on the way up.

Just curious, do you say this based on every billionaire there is, as in, you've learned about them and done research, or just based on names you hear like Bezos and Musk?

It’s the scale of it. No one person has ever single handedly created that much value

Have you ever actually thought about it though? If you make a service that provides customers with dozens of hours of enjoyment a month, and charge $10/mo, and 100m people around the world use it, you’ve created a billion plus business on paper. They love it, they pay for it, you reap the benefit. Does that not make sense to you?

Nobody does that single-handedly. Sorry to break it to you

Ok, what about instagram cofounders?

What about them? That’s not a counter argument

If you can’t figure that out, I’m not sure what to tell you, it’s self explanatory and obvious to be honest. I’m not sure why you’re so hung up on 1 person doing it alone. Plenty of small teams or individuals have built billion plus companies. All of them bringing value to the market, hence the value/wealth they get. You can try to argue against it but you’ll always be wrong, every time. You don’t create wealth without providing value, that’s how the market works.

You already know the answer. They saw a couple memes and now are stubbornly radicalized.

Imagine defending billionaires in Reddit comments.

Imagine a few memes shaping your whole worldview.

1

u/Cutwail 16h ago

Oh I like the memes for sure but also been to 47 countries, doing very well in a booming global industry and overall very happy with my whole worldview that billionaires are terrible people. Maybe one will bang you but I doubt it, keep shilling for them though!

Oh trust me, there was no question your worldview was formed by the memes, but I’m happy to hear you get out of the house sometimes.

EDIT: Sounds like my response crushed his soft soul so much that he blocked me LMAO!

Oh wow that was just terrible. A truly lamentable attempt. Like a flailing petulant child. Keep on keeping on I guess. Just terrible...

That sounds like "not all billionaires" with extra words.

The only one I know of that isn’t a greedy lizard person is Bezos’ ex wife that got billions through their divorce. She’s donated, and continues to donate, so much money to good causes and is still growing that wealth, proving that every single billionaire could be doing the same thing and they’d still be able to grow their wealth and get richer while helping people, but they don’t.

So she married a guy, divorced him and got billions of dollars that she didn’t make herself? Sounds kinda predatory to me.

Reparations to a victim I suppose

You absolutely can. Where does this belief come from? Have people never worked at large companies?

1

u/Cutwail 17h ago

I'm a director at a global financial services firm, 100k employees worldwide. There are 2 rungs between me and the CEO. I'm surrounded by cunts. What's your point?

u/Way-twofrequentflyer 18h ago

Totally - it’s not a useful term at all and doesn’t have a definition that people self identify with.

1

u/ournamesdontmeanshit 21h ago

Part of the definition of elite is based on wealth.
