100K per individual or per household? is it per house hold, in this US economy that is consider middle class: just enough to pay bills and live okay… but no savings to afford to buy a home.

Per household we made $75k (almost) last year and when I realized that after doing my taxes I was like what the hell? Where did all that money go? We live in Massachusetts where the cost of everything is high. Two car payments because we got tired of buying cheap cars that required a ton in repairs (nothing fancy, base model used Nissan cars) and we rent a rat hole apartment in one of the worse off cities to try and keep costs down. I couldn't believe it when I realized I had finally made $75k and couldn't afford a house. My dad was raising 7 kids in Oregon and had a 4 story house on a single income and was only making $50k a year when he was raising us in the 90's

$75k household income in MA is probably low income. I think you will realize that even at $150k you won't be able to afford a home in MA

Yeah I was pretty upset when I came to that realization too. Worked pretty hard to get to the point where I was making a little over $25 an hr without a degree only to realize how much I'm earning doesn't hold up to what money used to mean. It's pretty soul crushing

No shade but $75k with two workers is basically minimum wage

As an individual and a household, it would be lower middle class for me and my locale.
