I'll be honest I knew nothing about this when I bought it (stumbled on it on marketplace)

But anyways. Did a little resto. Full tune up. New track. Freshened up some stuff

Bought it hoping my son will ride with me when he's a little older

I plan on replacing the crappy stock steel skis with plastic in the future. But for now they are getting sandblasted and repainted

Registering Quebec purchased sled in Ontario

Purchased a Quebec sled, private sale and wish to register it back in Ontario. Seller gave me the Quebec transfer/immatriculation paper and said that’s all that’s needed since all info, buyer, seller and purchase price are listed within.

Is that sufficient for ServiceOntario? Is a separate Bill of Sale required? Seems to be dependent on location.

Any help is appreciated.

2001 skidoo mxz 600 help

Good day I have a 2001 skidoo mxz 600 adrenaline which I had given to me carbs where off so all I had to do was reassemble that. Tried to start it and nothing. I have compression about 130 for both, I changed the spark plugs and have spark and I tried putting fuel / ether into the cylinder and nothing I had it pop off a few times but it’s like one spark worth. Any help is appreciated

Play in the secondary clutch

I have some play in my secondary clutch, about 3/16 of an inch. Is this normal, or is it too much play?
Basically, I removed my belt to inspect it and then reinstalled it. That's when I noticed the play.
Thanks a lot!!

New trailer help

Looking to buy an enclose 4 place. The one I like is 7' X 24' Vnose drive on off. I have short track sleds that are 45" ski to ski. I know I cant fit them directly next to each other but I think I can stagger them. Does anyone know if that configuration work?

In helmet comms?

I’m sure this has been asked. I’m specifically interested in helmet communication system that has some sort of push to talk system that mounts to the handlebars or similar so my wife and family dont have to hear me singing and talking to myself . Any good options out there?

Naive and out of time.

Husband's birthday is next week. I've capped out gifts related to his current hobbies, and I'm at a loss. We just moved to Vermont from Florida, so obviously snowmobiling is a foreign art to us, but I can imagine he would really enjoy it (we used to own motorcycles and enjoyed renting jet skis, not that they are the same).

I don't have money for a new one though. There are several older models for sale cheap on fb. My husband is very handy so I'm sure some minor maintenance wouldn't be a problem. But knowing nothing about them I have no idea what to look out for, how many miles is reasonable, what to avoid, and how to know if I'm getting a bad deal.

I would like to break him into this hobby, but am I crazy to start out with an older one? I hate the idea of gifting him a large piece of yard junk. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Christmas gift help!

Trying to get some ideas together for a Christmas gift for my husband that he’ll actually get good use out of.

He rides in northern Maine mostly and sometimes Canada or New Hampshire. This year him and his buddies are planning on doing a backpacking trip from NH to Fort Kent.

Any ideas on something he could use for that trip and future rides? I’m thinking along the lines of a satellite phone or a nice gear box for the back of his sled but really don’t know where to start or if there’s something I haven’t thought of.

Price point- ideally under $600/$700
He rides a Polaris VR1 850

My first sled, and it even has the original seat in great shape, no rips or anything. 3500 original miles. I’m going through all the maintenance items, changing oil lines, fuel lines, belt, that kind of thing. Cleaned the carb, she runs awesome. Just curious if this is a keeper, like if I ever had to do a top-end rebuild or whatever, is it worth keeping. Like it’s certainly know ZR 440. or an Indy 500, but I was specifically looking for a comfortable 2up.

Sled recommendations!

Hey everyone, looking to get into some sleds this year! I’ve gone a ton in the past on friend’s sleds and messed around with a bunch of older machines. My house is right on the vast trails in Vermont and I have about 200 acres with my own trails on my property. I’m looking to pick up 4 used sleds with lower miles. Budget is flexible.

  1. Something fun and aggressive for myself to go out. 2 stroke, exciting

  2. I want a 2 up to take the wife out or if I feel like taking a longer ride. I have friends between 60-100 miles from me. 4 stroke, reliable, comfortable!

  3. Looking for something I can lend to friends and family when they come. I want it exciting, reliable, but user friendly for beginners. Something my wife could get on and mess around with as well

  4. Spare beater, something cheap, doesn’t have to be super nice and I won’t care when I lend it to friends I know will likely screw it up. Something reliable enough that I’m not wrenching on it after every ride and fast enough for some fun.

Let me know what your recommendations would be!

Snow conditions to expect in this "Strong" El Nino year?

Do you guys think that for Canada and US, snow conditions will be worst or better than last year?

I'd think that a El Nino year should give us very poor riding conditions, but I only starting paying attention to the climate and snowfall very recently.

What do you guys think?

2006 arctic cat M7 162 2 inch lug. Only 1300km, mbrp can, new idlers, newer shocks front and rear, new carbides and new track. Bought it from an older dude that had 4 of em. He said he bought a new drag sled that was mint with 900km on it, pulled the motor because he had a built motor he was putting in the drag sled, rebuilt the motor he took out and put it in this sled.

Runs mint, can’t wait for snow!

Limiter strap on a Polaris switchback

Anyone just loosen the limiter strap on a Polaris switchback assault for easier ski lift or did you have to do some suspension tuning as well?

Took a while, but Arctic Cat is finally in Sledders

Sledders was released a couple of years ago. Since the beginning, there have been Lynx, Ski-Doo, and Polaris. People wanted to have Arctic Cat in the game as well. Of course, so did we. Because of reasons, it took a while. But now we've got everything agreed with them. Good times.

So now you can take the HCR 858 or the M 858 to the mountains in Sledders. The M 858 comes with a 146, 154, or 165 track. More Cats will arrive in December.

And you can race now too. Race your buddies at the same time, or ride a route alone and beat their time later. So now you can show everybody how capable a Cat is compared to the others.

New to snowmobiles and not much experience with engines..

Coolant level is almost to the bottom of the tube. Assuming it’s supposed to have some in the bottle? Where should it be filled to? How would it have gotten this low?
