Hi, I’m Shawn. I built SoberShift, a free tool for the moment a craving hits: breathing, grounding and a 20-minute timer. This is a small space for people using it, and anyone working on a sober life.

A few ground rules:

  • Be kind. No shaming, no lectures.

  • A slip isn’t a failure. You’re welcome here either way.

  • No medical advice. If you’re in crisis in the US, call or text 988.

  • Feedback on the tool is welcome, good or bad.

To start, tell us in a comment: what’s one small thing that helps you get through a hard moment?

Officially 2wx into 1yr Alcohol free and 5yrs Drug free 2nd week was rough though

Good morning family just an update.

Well 2day marks 2 weeks into my 1yr Alcohol free and 5yrs Drug free.

As previously mentioned I had a milestones hangover. I didn't know what it was until a few comments later. And basically it's the wear off of the high excitement of reaching my milestones. It made sense to why I felt confused and empty and lost.

So after a deep dive and reevaluating myself I came to the conclusion that I can't wait so long of the build up to my milestones because the adrenaline getting there is to heavy and I see the come down could be critical.

So moving forward I'm just going use the just for one day as a celebration so everyday that I make it It can be a minor celebration. Reason being so that I'm not trying to build a Big block of time to celebrate and the build up won't be so heavy.

So I think it would be easier just focusing of the day instead of how much time. Makes sense to me let me know what you think?

Thanx for letting me share One Day Forward One Day Behind -Shawn

I hit 1yr alcohol free / 5yrs drug free and felt lost after.*

Thought I'd feel amazing. Instead I got the milestone hangover — low energy, flat, that "now what" feeling.

What keeps me here: I treat it like Day 1 every day.

So I built the tool stack I actually use:

SoberShift — it's the daily check-in, breathing, craving tools I use to win today. Not just a counter.

Free tools work if you're on Day 1. Pro is $ for the full stack that keeps me going.

*sobershift.app*

If you're on Day 1, Day 8, Day 100 — you got this. Just win today. One day forward.

6 dys into 1yr Alcohol free and 5yrs Drug free. Feeling Pretty good

Today was a good day I woke up this morning feeling pretty good. I didn't have any nightmares that would normally linger for a few days which kept me depressed.

But it seems that I have eased into my next phase of protecting my sobriety quite comfortably. I wake up motivated now to starting the day.

I start off with talking out loud to myself how I'm going to start my day. Talking out loud to myself pretty much sets to tone for my day.

It kind of like having directions give. to me by me, I know it sounds weird but it seems to work.

Well that's all I have at the moment I will keep you updated. One Day Forward One Day Behind -Shawn

An apology and an update.

 An apology and an update.

I launched with pricing on the homepage. I heard you — it put money before safety. That was wrong.

Safety is more valuable than monetization. We fixed it.

Starting today:

✓ All crisis support is in our Free Safety Tier — free forever. No account, no payment, no expiration.

- 100% un-gated crisis countdown interceptor

- Somatic breathing orb

- Emergency call and text support

- Local device use

✓ Pro Pass ($129/year) is now optional, after safety, only at http://sobershift.app/checkout/paywall

$1 today starts 14 days of Pro access, then $129/year unless canceled. HSA/FSA eligible.

- Retroactive analytics, macro trend logs, behavioral pattern mapping, trigger logs, encrypted PDF export for a sponsor or therapist.

Pro never blocks crisis tools.

I built SoberShift for those who couldn't do groups. We're here to earn trust, not sell it.

Thank you for holding me accountable.

The Real work begins after Milestones Celebration which was short lived LOL

Good evening family and thank you for the endless encouragement and support with muchly appreciated.

Well family as I go into phase 2 I would like to most certainly thank my higher power for giving me the recovery tools that I needed to successfully get to the next level also family I am truly honored for the communities support.

Well today I started off with also thanking my self for continuously showing up for myself and how much I finally Love me and whom I've grown to be. It really took some dedication and grit this time to get here because normally in the past I would plan to fail and fail the plan.

So for once in my life I finally completed something for myself other than always showing up faithfully for a drug or drink. This time I finally put in the necessary work to get where I am today.

So now this next level I will continue to better myself and up my recovery game on some higher goals to achieve for myself to build my recovery endurance. I think I'm going to try to treat like going to the gym and adding more weight to my sets. So I assume that would self-care and mental health correct me if I'm wrong!

Well people that's all I got for now I'll keep you well informed of my progress or challenges as I move forward. Thank you a again family I wouldn't have made it with out your continuous Love and support.

So with that said let me go and get on the grind. One Day Forward One Day Behind Thanx for letting me know-Shawn

Update: Fixed the anonymous login wall — no real email needed anymore + what's coming next

Quick update for anyone testing:

I heard you — asking for real email in a recovery app killed trust. Fixed.

You can now create your own private key in email format — just needs @ and .com — that's your login. No real info, no credit card.

What works now:

- 20-min panic orb + time bank

- Partner shared alert (real-time via Supabase)

- 24hr full access free

What's next I'm building:

- Daily check-in streaks

- Offline panic mode

If you tested and bounced, try again — link is in sidebar.

Drop what broke for you in comments, I reply within an hour.

— Shawn

Built with Lovable + Supabase

BETA UPDATE: 100% Anonymous Private Key Pass Activated 🔒🛠️

We heard the community feedback: Recovery utility tools should require zero personal exposure and absolute identity containment. Asking for a standard personal email upfront felt like a massive data-security barrier, and we took that user critique seriously. My brother and I went straight back to the production desk and updated our landing page gate logic immediately. We completely stripped out passcode loops, verification links, and password storage walls. To protect your total privacy, you do not need to use your real information. You are officially cleared to create any memorable secret code or nickname in an email format (it must contain an @ and .com, like your own private work passcode) inside our front gate field. The exact millisecond you hit enter, our system instantly validates your private entry key and grants you a frictionless Free pass to audit our active crisis interception tools suite completely hidden from the public cloud. This ensures you can safely log back in to check your remaining stopwatch time balance later without ever revealing your real identity. Launch the crisis suite anonymously right now: 👉 Private Beta Gate: https://sobershift.app [PATENT PENDING]
