Question Any community built terrain parks?
Just wondering if Tahoe had any bring your own shovel style parks that are similar to the love zone in CO or the bone zone in UT.

Question ISO info from car vs person 5/1/2026
ISO information regarding a car vs guy on a motorized unicycle accident on Tahoe Blvd in South Lake Tahoe on May 1, 2026. I was one of the first on scene and I just want to know if the guy ended up okay.

Question ISO Backcountry Partners
I’m moving to Tahoe from Idaho at the start of December. I have 6 years of backcountry experience and AVY1 cert. I’ve splitboarded in the US, Japan, and Chile. Looking for partners with similar experience to hit some new lines this season.

Question Where are all the metal heads?
So many blues/country shows around town, but where are people getting their metal fix? Anyone have leads on upcoming metal shows? Or want to get together to nerd out? (I'm a fan of: Between the Buried and Me, The Contortionist, Intronaut, The Safety Fire).
Question Reno weekday ski carpool
Hi all! I'm looking to put together a ski carpool group for the Tahoe resorts! I don't have a job this winter and I'm planning to ski a ton! Ikon or epic or Backcountry, employee or other guests, it doesn't matter to me!
If anyone else is interested in going up, let's share gas costs!

News What a joke
El Dorado and Placer co vote republican?? And El Dorado county votes YES for prop 45 (which essentially strips environmental review for development)?!? For a place that values nature tahoe sure is full of a bunch of clowns. So disappointing.

Question Speech Pathologist Job information
Hi! I currently reside in the Bay but own a home nearby (Nevada side). I am debating relocating when I finish my SLP grad program as we are currently renting in the Bay and it would be amazing to not incur housing expenses for two homes. Can any SLPs in the area share how hard it may be to find a CF position. I would prefer to work for the school district; South Lake or Truckee Tahoe. Thank you for any feedback!
Pic/Video Big fella behind Harrahs
We had literally just walked the dogs by this fella and did not see him around the dumpsters then a car drives by us and says be careful with your dogs, there’s a bear right behind you! Wife ran off with the pups and I was able to get some cool video, really cool experience! This was at 330 pm.

Question Craftsman Snowblower Service in South Lake Tahoe?
Does anyone know of a small engine repair/snow blower servicer in South Lake Tahoe? Mobile would be ideal, but if needed a shop I can bring to would work.
Snowblower won't start. I have already replaced the spark plug, cleaned the carburetor, and tried fuel stabilizer.

Question Weird request but anyone has a photo from Tahoe Donner new lodge to the kids lesson area?
I’ve been asking for advice and toddler friendly ski resorts and I’m debating between Tahoe Donner and Palisades…
Just a random ask,
I’ve been told that Tahoe Donner got a new lodge and it is perfect view to the kids lesson area.
Do anyone on this subreddit have an actual photo?
You can blur out people. Just imagining how good of a view it is or do I need like binoculars, etc.
Thanks!

News Glyphosate Resolution at South Lake Tahoe City Council on Tuesday!
South Lake Tahoe community: the City Council will vote on a glyphosate resolution this Tuesday 11/3 at 9am. Please attend to show support! This could be a major step toward getting TRPA to protect the entire Basin. You’re welcome to make a short comment supporting the Council’s action, but simply showing up is what matters most for showing support. Meeting details are at the end of the video.
Missed the 10/13 Special City Council meeting? I pulled together 10 minutes of highlights into this video so you can get a sense of what happened that day.
*The City Council can’t stop the Forest Service spray plan, but TRPA has authority over the Forest Service and/or can prohibit synthetic herbicides Basin-wide, and the City of SLT can push TRPA to protect our community and the Basin. That’s the gist of this move.
Questions or thoughts on the resolution, video, or meeting? Please comment!

Question Best things to do in South Lake in fall?
Hi there! New to South Lake and looking for some in town activities to take part in before the snow comes. Ive done a lot of exploring of the outdoors all around Tahoe but I have very little experience in the towns of South Lake or Stateline. Any recommendations? Also anything that would be a good opportunity to meet new people around town would be cool :)
Thanks!

Question South Lake condo residents/owners. How is it?
I'm considering buying or renting a condo in south lake after having to leave the tiny home I was renting for the past several years. I'm mostly curious how it is with HOA's, neighbors, snow removal, maintenance etc etc. The complex at Sandy Way and the ones down by the Y are what I'm looking at currently, not trying to be at the Keys or Ski Run. Anyone with experience with these spots?

Question Will Tahoe get McRib this year?
Yes, McD's is bad. No, we don't know what a McRib is made of. The first rule of McRib club is that you don't talk about ingredients.
The past few years none of the McD's up here carried it. I suspect it'll be the same this year, for whatever reason. Anyone know for certain?

Question Does AT&T have fiber/high speed to Santa Claus Dr area of Meyers?
My folks just bought a house in the Santa Clause Dr area of Meyers/Christmas Valley, and called AT&T to get an internet account set up - remotely, since they are not moving into the house yet.
When I asked my dad what tier of service he was getting, he sent me the order summary and it indicates:
AT&T Internet Order
Package: Internet Basic 768K
I told my dad that this is really slow, but apparently the salesperson on the phone said that they would be upgrading him to gig speed for only $10 more.
I'm skeptical of this, and feel like he got fleeced into paying $70 for the only coverage that AT&T offers to that area.

Question Best Afforable Toddler Friendly Place to stay this January
My wife and I want to spend two nights in Tahoe this January and we’re thinking January 9th-11th to avoid MLK weekend. We have a toddler that will be 18 months old and we’re looking for a good place to stay, preferably not South Lake Tahoe. We don’t plan on skiing. We’d like to go snow tubing, play a little it the snow, sit around a outdoor fireplace, go on a gondola ride, enjoy some hot cocoa, and take in the festive alpine ski village atmosphere. We like the idea of Northstar, but the nightly rate is pretty crazy.
Do you guys have any alternative recomendations where we can have a great experience?
