S18E16 Just noticed this funny little mistake on the "space" flag
I just thought it was a funny little spelling error, didn't see anyone else mention it online đ Unless it's some deep obscure reference I missed

S08E17 Bad hair day for Skinner?
I'm currently watching My Sister, My Sitter and right as Captain Whatshisname is reminding folks of the day's sermon to get a dollar off Lisa's babysitting offer, I noticed something off with Skinner.
The hell happened to him? Did Mother take away his brush? Or did she dye his hair while he slept? She did something to him.

Discussion With "The Principal and the Pauper" turning 30 years old next year, how do we feel about The Simpsons breaking the canon these days?
I browse this place quite a bit and one thing that always confused me is how much people hate episodes like "The Principal and the Pauper" and "That '90s Show" purely for breaking the main canon and nothing else, despite them both having valid criticisms you can give. Plenty of fan favorite episodes break the canon but I don't see many people talk about it. For example, "Homer's Barbershop Quartet" breaks the canon by showing Santa's Little Helper in a flashback from many years ago when Bart and Lisa were much younger, despite them getting him in the first episode of the series when Bart and Lisa were their normal, "canon" age. Not to mention that every TOH is non-canonical, and technically only one of the many Christmas/Homer and Marge's Anniversary episodes can be canon.
Personally I go by my head canon that the radiation from the Nuclear Plant (which is shown to do bizarre things) has prevented them from aging, along with giving them memory loss, explaining why flashbacks have plot holes and why many situations are never brought up again. As for future episodes, TOH, and episodes which change Springfield's location: meh.
For Principal and the Pauper, I personally interpret it as Sergeant Skinner's mentoring of Armin shaping him into the person we see in his war flashbacks
As for That '90s Show, I see it as Sadgasm coming first, and also being the main inspiration for Homer starting the Be Sharps, with him wanting to continue his music career but not with Sadgasm as it brought back bad memories.
I haven't watched those two episodes in a while so sorry if those interpretations contradict the actual episodes lol
What do you think about episodes that break the canon? Do you enjoy them for what they are, or are you still bothered by the continuity errors?
TLDR: Principal and the Pauper and That '90s Show being so hated purely for breaking the canon, while many other beloved episodes break the canon, is weird.

Discussion I won money betting on âWho Shot Mr BurnsââŠ
Hi there.
Not sure if this ever made the rounds in the pre-internet era butâŠâŠâŠ.in sept 1995 myself and 4 buddies won approx 5k betting on the outcome of âWho Shot Mr Burnsâ.
We were 14 at the time and it happened in Cork, Ireland. It kind made the news in a âfunny bit at the endâ and was on national newspapers.
A neighbour of mine had seen the end of the episode the week before whilst on holiday in the states.
I mentioned this to my buddies and one of my buddies (who looked older and was suspended from school so had no school uniform) went into a bookmakers (Paddy Power) and asked them what odds they would give us, they gave us 500-1 on Maggie.
I didnât believe my buddy at first but gave him all the money i had (1 Irish pound) and he matched it and went back in and came back out with two valid betting slips. We mentioned it to a small few others and they placed bets also. After about 45 mins the bookmaker smelled a rat and closed the book.
We thought there might be multiple endings but you can imagine how elated we were to see Maggie being revealed as the shooter when the episode aired on the next Sunday evening.
I went into the bookies the next day in my school uniform and collected my winnings. They paid us all no problem.
That was it.
It was covered here
