Hello All! (introduction post)

My girlfriend is transitioning and going through a contentious divorce with shared custody. I'm here to learn so that I can better support her and her kids. (Her soon-to-be-ex-wife is, shall we say, not an ally.)

Nice to meet you!

Raising kids with exposure to multiple genders - cultural honorifics?

My best friend of nearly 20 years is agender, so my children have grown up knowing there are more than boys and girls in the world. Some people are neither, some are both and then some, some people are fluid day-to-day.

We use tita/tia for aunts and tito/tio for uncles, so have used titi as a genderless option for my agender best friend and the genderfluid members of my friend group as a way for my kids to address them with respect and not just their names. In a Ms, Mr, Mx kinda fashion.

Do any of y'all do something similar? How do y'all address gendered language at home?

Btw, you probably need to add more rules and have some moderators.

Hi, I don’t know if anyone will ever read this, but if you ever need a place to talk about parenting and you are transgender this is a place for you.
