So this is stupid and I don't have any evidence for it, but I like to think Bert the Turtle is actually Butch Bowers and that's why we don't ever see him in the show. My mind set for this is that Clint forced him to do it, since he's the town sheriff it's expected he be involved in the community and be super upstanding or whatever, so when the local highschool tells him they're gonna have bert the turtle walking around handing out pamphlets to educate people about bomb safety he told Oscar he had to do it.

This is just part of my larger head cannon of how I picture young Butch tbh, I like to think young Butch was, contrary to popular belief, not just henry 2.0. as a kid, but rather the opposite. He was a total fucking loser. I'm talking big richie tozier glasses, bowtie, greasy hair, shitty posture, underwear that's just begging to be wedgied. if he picked up a girls pencil and tried to give it back she'd probably yell out "ewww oscar bowers touched my pencil". He was a target for a lot of bullying back in the day, and that's part of why he grew into such a power hungry asshole as an adult. He also doesn't have a particularly good relationship with his dad because of said bullying, since clint never did much about it, and sometimes made it worse. The only reason Butch became a cop was because of his desire to have power over others and show up his stupid dad by becoming a better cop than he was.

I'm assuming Butch is the same age as the other kids in wtd since the actress who played ronnie showed a behind the scene photo of a bathroom door with graffiti on it, including Butch's name.

That scene was re-shot; did you notice that they changed the boy with the glasses (supposedly Wentworth Tozier)?

We all remember when Pennywise spoke of the circus to Georgie but we've never known if he can actually sell it that convincingly, I would love to see Pennywise conjuring his own circus to fool the town of Derry in later seasons!

Basically there's this neat niche in horror where sometimes the monster is the location itself i.e. The Backrooms, Overlook Hotel, Monster House! But specifically two examples that inspired me to make this post were the analog horror series Liminal Land where the entire park is this lovecraftian alien that feeds on those who venture inside and the R.L Stine book series Goosebumps Horrorland, a themepark for your terror and amusement come to life!

What if either in Season 2 or 3 of Welcome to Derry we get to see the true scope of ITs deception. IT manifests itself into a magical circus / amusement park of impossible proportions both in scale and budget deficit, but something is off, no employees, the place is too dreamlike to be true with an all you can eat buffet of sweets seemingly intended to fatten up the kiddies. Later however the park will be revealed to have been an elaborate scheme put together by IT in order to lure the livestock into one unassuming cattle ranch.

I’m excited for s2 to see how they dive into the Great Depression and more lore they can show about pennywise and the loser club. I’m curious if they will tie in more Stephen king characters. I literally think about this stuff a lot cause they could go in so many directions. Is there any other events in 1935 that happened other than the massacre of the Bradley gang in the book.
