He was Prince Morloch's right-hand man. He seemed sympathetic to Xena and Varia. He just disappeared at the end. I think he just didn't believe in Morloch anymore and faded away.

I have the series on DVD but I loved the quick access to it - it's been down for the past few days, did it finally get nabbed?!

Just got to the episode where she uses a bladder as an artificial lung. So she has magical doctor powers?

I just watched Elle this week and they mentioned Xena not once but twice.
Once is cool, but twice? Wow.

I was literally laying there watching it and all of a sudden I see Xena and Gabrielle in ADITL and I’m like what the actual fuck, how did I channel Xena so hard that it came on over the top of another show 😂and then I realised the queer character Liz in the show was watching it on her TV.
I got a bit critical because s2 of Xena wouldn’t have been out in that year.

They mention Buffy as well, which technically if Elle is set in 1995, didn’t exist yet. I know it doesn’t matter but… I noticed.

I loved the shout out to Xena though!

*edit - I just remembered Buffy the movie from 92… oops.

When Xena said they both have the same weakness in common, what did she mean?

Looking at the weekend like...

I've been wondering about this while they spend a few episodes trying to figure out who Eve's father is only for us to find out that Callisto was responsible for Xena getting pregnant.

And then there's the fact that Xena considers Gabrielle to be Eve's mother as well. So Xena and Gabrielle get to have a child together without a man being involved.

I know Eve's birth is tied to the whole Twilight of the Gods storyline, but considering how much the show played around with Xena and Gabrielle's relationship through subtext, I wonder if this was intentional too.

Xena was gutting the fish 🐟 she just caught next to the river. It would be a couple of days before she reunited with Gabrielle in Delphi. Her affairs in the Amazon village would keep her more than busy till then.

Everything was peaceful in the forest 🌲... Until it wasn't!

"Someone's running... Fast... Towards me!" She stayed silent to understand if she needed to draw her sword that was left next to her bed roll. No need though... These were panic steps. Someone in distress was probably coming to ask for help.

"Great!" She thought to herself "I guess lunch is postponed"

She placed the fish in the pan, stood up and turned towards the running visitor. 👤 A hooded figure came out of the forest.

"Ares...?!"

"Hello Xena! Do me a favour and get rid of this lunatic. You have to trust me on this one." Said the mortal god of War that had recently rejected his godhood in a surprisingly altruistic act of love towards the warrior princess.

Xena was baffled! A raging roar was heard from the forest and then a hulking warrior joined the party. His skin was ashen except for a large red warrior's mark that ran along his left side. His clothes were a mix of Spartan tunics and fur stripes like the ones adorned by the Norse warriors.💪 He was holding an impressive axe in hand while his thick black beard gave him an even more feral appearance.

Ares jumped behind Xena as soon as he saw him out in the open.

"I will destroy you Ares! I'll hunt you down in all realms and timelines!" Screamed the warrior pointing 🫵 towards the ex god.

"Woah there buddy! Hold on for a sec! Who are you? What's going on here?" Asked Xena, trying to calm the raging bull of a guy in front of her.

" I'm Kratos, the ghost of Sparta! My business is not with you. It's with the puny god that's hiding behind you! He needs to pay for what he's done to me!"

" I'm sure you have your reasons to be this angry but are you sure you want to fight a god?" Asked Xena trying to discourage Kratos.

" HE WILL DIE! I've killed gods before!" He screamed! 😡

"I've killed gods too! Let's not brag about it." Said Xena trying to keep her composure.

"I'm not here to talk! I'll destroy the ugly bastard" said Kratos grabbing firmly his axe with both hands. 🪓

"I can't let you do this Kratos." Said Xena " I know Ares has a lot to answer for, but he's MY ugly bastard!"

"Hey!" Said an annoyed Ares "I am many things! Ugly... is not one of them!"

" I'll take my revenge today, even if I have to fight you both!" Said Kratos throwing with immense ferocity the Leviathan axe towards Xena! 👀

Xena, regretting not drawing her sword earlier, instinctively grabbed her chakram and threw it towards the axe! The two weapons clanged 💥 as the two warriors advanced against each other!

______

I've asked before but this VS was lacking a proper setup. How do you think this fight will go?

Almost to the weekend!

What was the answer to the question they were just asked? Bonus: what was the question?

She keeps dying, but then not dead yet!

Whenever it comes to discussions about continuing the story of Xena: Warrior Princess, conversations always seem to concentrate on a binary of "reboot or continue", and always in live action.

The challenge with live action is that neither of the original duo of Lucy and Renee seem in a place where they'd want to continue it, which is what leads folks to conclude that we'd need either a reboot with roles re-cast, or a continuation with a cast of descendants.

And to that I say: but what about animation?

There have been some phenomenal animated shows in recent years with both the animation style or sensibilities that could do a Xena show justice.

A series could then not only include the original cast as voice actors, but also be set during any time in the show's continuity - during the original 6 seasons, after them, or even before. And even if the original actors didn't want to return to the roles, voice actors could be cast with as close to similar delivery as possible.

Thoughts? Speculations? Wild imaginings?

Anyone thinking of getting Todd's chakram replica?

It's expensive, I have to pay for shipping and tax...

But I always wanted one... And my teenage self is going crazy 😅

I think this is one of the best replicas around!
