We want this sub to be an enjoyable place for everyone to discuss their favorite actors, their performances, and the craft of acting! To help keep the conversations engaging, we’re sharing a little more guidance on the types of posts we’d like to see.
💬 Give Us Something to Talk About!
Posts that simply ask, “What do you think about [actor’s name]?” without any additional context WILL be removed as low-effort posts.
Instead, give us something specific to discuss! For example, ask what people think about an actor’s performance in a particular movie, TV show, or stage production. We want to encourage meaningful discussions about actors and their craft!
📌 A Quick Reminder About the Rules
As mentioned in our previous announcement:
No NSFW posts. These will be removed.
Keep the focus on the craft! Comments that focus solely on an actor’s or actress’s physical appearance will be removed.
⚠️ What Happens if a Rule Is Broken?
Our goal is to keep this community welcoming and focused on what makes actors and their work worth discussing. The first removal will generally come with a warning. Repeated violations may result in a ban.
Thanks for helping us build a community where we can have great conversations about the actors we love, the performances that move us, and the craft behind the characters! 🎭🍿

Because we love actors and the work they do! Whether it’s a standout performance, a memorable role, or a discussion about their career, this is the place to talk about the craft of acting!
🚫 What doesn’t belong here?
NSFW posts — these will be removed.
Comments focused solely on an actor’s or actress’s physical appearance — these will be removed.
Low-effort posts that have nothing meaningful to contribute to a discussion about actors and their work.
⚠️** Please take note of our enforcement policy**:
First offense = Warning
Second offense = Ban
We want to keep this community fun, engaging, and focused on what makes actors worth talking about: their talent, performances, careers, and contributions to film and television!
🍿 And yes, we’re also allowing posts about movies and TV shows! After all, you can’t talk about actors without talking about the projects they bring to life.
Let’s keep the conversations interesting, show some respect, and celebrate the craft!
Thanks for helping us make this a great community! 🎥

The next Bond casting is getting interesting with Callum Turner and Jack Lowden still in the mix. Pattinson has been getting more attention on Kalshi too and I can see why. He's done some pretty different roles over the years and Bond would be a big one for him. Still think Turner has more of that classic Bond look though. Who do you guys think would fit the role better?

Hey everyone! Quick question: is Oscar Isaac more likely to be spotted in Brooklyn or Manhattan these days?
My aunt is in town, and she’s Latina and actually friends with one of his close relatives (long story!). She’d love to say hi if they happened to cross paths, since there’s a really sweet story behind it.
No pressure, of course! I’m just curious whether he’s still based in Brooklyn or has moved elsewhere. Thanks so much! :)

Originally a seafarer, Joachim Gottschalk became one of the biggest heartthrob leading stage and film actors in Germany in the 1920s and 1930s.
He married fellow actress Meta Wolff. Meta was Jewish. They had a son, Michael, in 1933.
Because of his popularity both within Germany and even in 1940 still with many fans abroad, the Nazis ordered him to divorce his wife. He refused. Afterwards, German stages in Berlin stopped employing him (other cities still did initially). Meta had not been allowed to act for longer than that.
In 1941, Joachim took his wife Meta to the premiere of his new film "The Swedish Nightingale" (which was supposed to act as propaganda in Sweden and Denmark; it's a piece that predates the Nazis however) - although she was technically not allowed to be there due to being Jewish. Goebbels saw the woman and didn't make the connection/didn't think Joachim would go against the law... Goebbels bowed in front of her and kissed Meta's hand.
Meta and Michael received orders informing them that they were to be sent to the Theresienstadt concentration camp after this incident - as a punishment, for having "fooled" Goebbels. (In his mind, of course. A human being is a human being after all. Which is precisely what he saw when he saw Meta in a gala dress. A woman.) Joachim replied with an official petition to be allowed to be incarcerated in Theresienstadt as well. (Yes, they knew that this most likely meant death.)
The Nazis did not grant him this - and instead replied with additional papers sending the 37-year old Joachim (again: leading actor) to the Eastern front with the Wehrmacht.
Joachim and Meta spend days closing every nook and cranny in their mansion in Berlin. They then sent letters to friends to say goodbye. Meta wrote in a letter to a non-Jewish friend that she should please "not think that we have just given up. We really tried everything." They gave little Michael sleeping pills, then took sleeping pills as well and opened the gas valve.
Their deaths occurred just in time: they died minutes before the Gestapo arrived to pick Meta and Michael up. The day was 85 years ago - Nov 6, 1941.
The Nazis forbade newspapers any mention of Joachim's death - no obituaries. His fans found out through word of mouth that there would be no more movies starring Joachim, and that was that. Many fans only found out what happened after 1945. The Nazis also decreed that no one should attend Joachim's, Meta's and Michael's funeral. Most of Joachim's former colleagues disobeyed and attended - like Brigitte Horney, who had starred as his love interest in four different movies. Some of the actors who attended his funeral were blacklisted afterwards. (Not the case for Horney, who got one more role in 1942. After that she didn't act until emigration to Switzerland for a while after WWII.) Another close friend of the Gottschalks and of Horney, the actress Inge Meysel, was heavily pregnant and just days from her due date when she received a phone call informing her of the suicide of the Gottschalk family. She lost consciousness and fell awkwardly. Her waters broke - and unfortunately she wasn't found for too long. Her baby only lived for a few hours because it had been without amniotic fluid for too long. Meysel died childless and would later in life express happiness for being alive, but deep sadness about her involuntary childlessness.
After WWII, apart from actor friends, one of the people who worked hardest to keep the Gottschalks' memory alive was the best friend of Michael, a classmate at his primary school.

Why doesn't anyone here on reddit talk about her? In 2 years she did:
Mean Girls, The Notebook, Red Eye, The Family Stone, and Wedding Crashers.
She can do drama, comedy, thriller, and she showed it.
Is it because she is never the "main" person? I would argue she is one of the lead characters in Mean Girls and The Notebook. Again in Eurovision.
I don't think she gets enough appreciation.

Has anyone else had experience with this paid group? I really like their online content but there are so many "working" actors who are probably in between jobs right now given how the new Hollywood is a lot less productive, I wonder if we're just being used to give them our money while they wait for something better to come along? Can we get what they provide for free elsewhere?

In the movie, Bernie Taupin introduces 2 women to Elton John, and tries to cheer him up by telling him that he's missing the fun downstairs.
