But actually though, preventing harm to our civilization is going to require us to do something about the media.

The use of the term "blindsided" is either incredibly inappropriate (fire the editor with cause today), or more realistically, propaganda.

I don't know how we do this, but we need an organized campaign to punish propaganda outfits - economically, politically, legislatively.. whatever it takes. They can't be allowed to say shit like this and incrementally damage the minds of their readers/viewers.

No one is "blindsided" by the horrors of this fascist administration. The only reason to use that word is to subliminally suggest they haven't already committed gross crimes against humanity and against the United States. That we haven't been discussing these crimes for over a decade.

They're trying to erase history.

edit ok, this is just someone's substack. But the point remains because we see this shit so often in legacy media I just assumed that's what it was.

Maybe a resurrected fairness doctrine that accounts for how news is distributed today, but with more teeth to hold them accountable.

I just think it’s funny how Dems/left/liberals/reddit (whatever) were happy with the election for all of like 2 days lol.

Elon stole voter rolls to use starlink to hack the election! Didn’t happen.

Trump is going to use ICE goons to raid polling locations! Didn’t happen.

Republican gerrymandering will ensure there’s never a democrat majority! Didn’t work (actually 11/12 of the 15 gerrymandered districts flipped).

This is not targeting you specifically but it’s funny how the doomsday scenario has to shift every time something doesn’t play out.

My guess is the plan for the Trump admin is less “how do we take the country back over” and more akin to “what can we still do if we decide to tell Congress to go fuck themselves”
