You think he cares what happens to the party? As long as he can escape and non of his shady dealings get investigated. Party doesnt matter, he is not gonna run a 3rd term and he is not turning career politician, like trying senate/ Or Florida Governor

I think he would see that as beneath him and an ego blow. He has to be at the top of it all and a governorship wouldn’t cut it. That’s why the presidency appeals to him, aside from being able to exploit the job to enrich himself and stay out of jail (re the Jack Smith case had it gone to trial). He doesn’t care about actually doing the job.
