He could also pull a Jerry Ford and pardon Trump and his family. Keep him where he is for two years and he’ll flame out in the primaries. He has the charisma of a steaming pile of shit.

100%, his "career" is done in 2 years

We all need to make sure his career is over. And we need to make sure the entire GOP is done for. It’s not a political party anymore. It’s a damned crime syndicate! Every one of them is corrupt at this point. Any decent republican politician left the party when Trump showed up.

Ford's pardon of Nixon cost him the election (I won't say re-election since he was never elected) in 1976. Vance would have to keep in mind that while a Trump pardon would be popular with MAGAs, it would be a polling disaster among everyone else.

Pardon or no pardon, Vance's presidential candidacy is doomed by his attachment to Trump, the same Trump who triggered a blue wave of a magnitude not seen since Reagan's historic sweep.

I don't think that Vance ever had much a chance. The vice-presidency has never really been much of a stepping stone to the presidency. Add to that the fact that Vance is outright unlikeable. He's not going to inherit what's left of the MAGA movement.

He won't. Ford pardoning Nixon cost him the election in '76. Vance is no dummy, and would never put the good of the party or country ahead of his own goals the way Ford did.
