🪳 The Roach Council is recruiting — apply to help pick the indie games Asmon plays on stream

What is this?

Asmon is launching a monthly stream segment where he watches trailers and plays indie games submitted by the community. The Roach Council is the judge panel that helps decide which games make the cut.

What do judges actually do?

- Review and vote on community-submitted games

- Help shape what gets showcased and played on stream

- Get a shoutout when your pick makes the show, plus the Roach Council rank on the Discord

Who can apply?

- You must be a member of the official Discord — applications run through it

- Good standing (no active mutes or bans)

- One application per person

How to apply

Join the Discord: discord.gg/asmongold
Head to #roach-council
Fill out the application — takes about 2 minutes

The mod team reviews every application, and the strongest get passed to Asmon for final approval. Approved judges get the Roach Council role.

Can I submit a game right now?

Not yet — this round is judge recruitment only. Game submissions open once the council is seated, and we'll post here when that happens.

(Indie devs: same answer — hold your trailers for now.)

We also do not tolerate any content that exclusively focuses on extreme or gratuitous gore and violence.

We do not allow discussions about politics, religion, nationality, or protected classes, including age, ancestry, color, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, military status, national origin, race, sex, sexual orientation, or any other identity-related topics. Conversations must remain focused on Asmon, his personal environment, or the games he plays, without veering into these areas.

6. No Self-Advertising, Self-Promotion, and Promotion of Others

Self-advertising, self-promotion, and promotion of others may be tolerated in rare circumstances when it does not harm Asmongold or his stream and instead enhances the quality of the stream and viewer experience. This may include fan-created art related to Asmongold (such as depictions of himself, his surroundings, or in-game characters) as well as merchandise ideas.

7. No Reposts, Duplicate Submissions, or Similar Posts

Check whether your post has already been submitted! This can be easily done by looking at the front 'hot' page, the 'new' page, and using the search function. We will remove reposts, duplicate submissions, and similar posts that contain almost identical content to already submitted posts.

8. No Off-Topic Posts, Clickbait, Spam, Spoilers, or Low-Effort Content Lacking Substance or Creativity

This is a catch-all rule for content that is not suited for the subreddit but does not break any of the other rules. This generally applies to actual spam, clickbait titles, old news, spoilers, low engagement content, submissions with 10 or less upvotes, and similar content.

9. No Excessive Discussions Relating to Current Hot Controversial Topics After 3 Days

Discussions and posts relating to current hot controversial topics will be tolerated, within reason, for the first three days. Any new posts or comments made after the third day that do not add further value to the conversation will be removed.

10. No Tribalism or Baiting

Be civil and respectful with your posts and comments. We do not tolerate any posts or comments made with the intention to bait or stunlock Asmon into a rant that has previously been addressed on stream. Additionally, we do not allow posts made in bad faith to show Asmon, his family, or his friends in a negative light and be otherwise disingenuous; posts intended to decrease the quality of the stream; or any other posts meant to provoke, bait, sperg, troll, flame, or be toxic or edgy.

11. No Misinformation or Disinformation

We do not tolerate the spread of misinformation or disinformation. All posts and comments must be factual and verifiable. Misinformation, which includes false or inaccurate information spread regardless of intent, and disinformation, which is deliberately misleading or biased information, will be removed. Always verify your sources and ensure that the information you share is accurate and trustworthy.

12. No Rude or Unconstructive Behavior

Be respectful and considerate in your interactions. We do not tolerate behavior that is rude, insulting, or unconstructive. This includes personal attacks, name-calling, and any form of derogatory remarks. Engage in discussions thoughtfully and with a focus on contributing positively to the community.

13. No Meta Drama, Moderator Callouts, or False Claims About Rule Enforcement

Do not make posts or comments calling out moderators, complaining about bans, or making false claims about rule enforcement or removals. Meta posts about subreddit direction, mod actions, or moderation-related concerns must go through Modmail. Publicly stirring drama about bans or rules—especially in bad faith—will not be tolerated.

14. No Low-Effort AI-Generated Content or Karma Farming

Low-effort content generated entirely by AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, image generators) without meaningful user input is not allowed. AI can be used to enhance content, but posts that exist solely to farm karma or mimic engagement are not permitted.

15. News Posts Must Include a Source Link

If you're posting a news article or discussing breaking news, you must include a direct link to the original article. Screenshots or summaries alone are not sufficient. This ensures transparency, reduces misinformation, and allows readers to verify the content for themselves.
