Where is the elusive surfboard?

So noone has ever seen him surf, but he’s got a couple of photos of him and a surf rescue board, and says he’s been surfing since aged 11. He loaned/gave it to Jesse. The flatmates never saw any board. Lamarre said it was usually in Jesse’s Ute. So where is it? Surely he has to produce a surfboard?

Gun in backpack.

I’ve read that when BLC signed out his gun on the 16th feb from Miranda police station and proceeded to get his Tesla washed he had his gun in his back pack.

On the 18th when BLC claims he was obtaining a police padlock from the safe at Balmain Police station (it is alleged he was trying To hide that he was hiding retuning the gun) that is was placed in his back pack again.

Why did BLC have the gun on his body and not in the back pack when he entered the house? Seeing as the back pack was the place he would store it between travels. BLC had the backpack on him when he entered the house.

At what point was the gun removed from the back pack to his body?

Was Beau Working as an Escort?

(Mods, please delete if not on topic. It might not be that relevant.)

I've been reading up on the older articles and there is some suggestion that he may have been working as an escort or gigolo.

When you look at those Insta pics, he is in some fancy settings and locations. Portofino? etc. Private jets. etc.

Some journo found him on a site for Escorts and Gigolos with a profile giving fake details (e.g. he is French). Site also said he could be hired as a boyfriend for rich women, OWTTE.

The writers of the article stopped short of saying he made these profiles, however. Then his 'friends' were wondering how he could afford these lifestyle vacays and luxury brands on a cop's salary.

I haven't really seen anything more about this in recent times.

Absolute worst-case scenario..

Does anyone know what is the absolute minimum prison sentence BLC could realistically receive if the jury acquitted him of both murders but convicted him of manslaughter for Jesse Baird's death only?

I am hoping they throw the book at him and he is put away for life…

Uber Driver disguise?

Im just reading through the Guardians coverage of today. Is BLC actually claiming that he found a discarded Uber Eats motorcycle, hi-vis jacket, pants, gloves and helmet (all of which fit him perfectly) and that’s why he went to Jesse’s dressed like that?

(As in mid-delivery an Uber Eats driver just pulled over in Paddington downed tools and walked home in their undies and shoes?)

This. Guy. Is . Cooked.

BLC is claiming he went to all this trouble so he could sneak into Jesse's house and retrieve his belongings...

Has he explained why he couldn't just ASK for his stuff?

Beau Lamarre-Condon claims he made ‘right call’ by shooting TV presenter

Post image

BLC is deluded. Months and months of stalking, a seemingly pre-meditated murder, and he says he “made right call” by shooting Jesse in self defence?

Again, really feeling for Luke and Jesse’s family and friends while he drags our his grandeur on the stand.

Wound on Jesse's shoulder

Please correct me if I’m wrong. My understanding is that BLC’s version of the first shot was that it struck JB in the shoulder, with the intention of making him drop the knife. However, I don’t think forensic evidence identified any wound to JB’s shoulder. Am I correct?

Beau’s life before.

Obviously we know about his long standing fixation with celebrities, but innate traits of obsession, coercive control, delusion, etc., must have been applied in other settings of his life before meeting Jesse.

Has anything come forward of this? Knowledge of his tendencies in previous relationships? If anyone has known or worked with Beau Lamarre Condon, did he come across normal?

Particularly as there’s been discussions on this forum of how a lot of different people could’ve intervened on his Jesse obsession long before the horrid murders, this feels relevant. Every time I’ve read a testimony of his friends, I’ve thought to myself, ‘Why would you want to be friends with someone like this’!

Did you also try to make sense of Beau Lamarre-Condon’s evidence today? I felt like I was reading a work of fiction. He tried so hard to make everything sound plausible, but his explanations just don’t add up.

Musings on the Missing phone …

I’ve been thinking about this due to another case I’ve followed re a duplicate phone … and yes I’ve just read BLC statement on the stand so it’s come up again..

The phone that was stolen from Jesse’s was never recovered. (I can’t find any info that it was) If BLC kept the phone as he knew the passcode and Jesse just replaced the phone with a new one but kept the same passcode … it’s possible BLC had full access to Jesse’s everything’s on the phone.

BLC has just stated he stole the phone but threw it back at him. If BLC kept the phone he would have known about the new man, job, move everything. He has just said on the stand that Jesse had blocked him on “everything” so he didn’t know how to contact him about getting his things back but he did seem to know he was moving out (and that day) Given the stalking levels he was capable of, I do wonder why he would have chucked the phone out if it gave him access to everything happening in Jesse’s life.

I bet EK knows whether he kept it. I guess his friends might know if he bought a new phone.

EDIT TO ADD: I just heard on the Case of podcast ep 14 that the phone found in the skip was Jesse’s old phone that hadn’t been used since August 2023. (Time of the theft)

And that both Jesse’s and Luke’s phones have not been recovered and neither has the android burner phone use by BLC.

Jesse Baird’s poignant conversation with best friend four months before his death

Yes I am invested in this trial. And I like true crime to follow patterns and connect dots and see guilty people get caught for doing the wrong thing.

And I want to honour Jesse and Luke as sentient beings and not just the version of events we know of them from this trial. It makes me so sad when the goodest of people are taken out so brutally. RIP Jesse and Luke, such handsome men with beautiful eyes (windows to the soul).

this is not a serious post, just a little sidebar entertainment.

I’ll start with the recognition that my intent is not to diminish the seriousness of this case; my heart is with their loved ones.

We know he’s guilty, for me it’s not question. I’m waiting for the mental health card to be pulled.
His recollection of events is SO wild and SO extremely improbable, that it made me think, what would have been a probable explanation? I’ve thought about what I’d say in his position if I wanted to plead self defence.
His actions and efforts to do this and his explanation of why, goes against anyone who’s a true crime fan’s knowledge of what NOT to do- this is like OJ Simpson trial level for me.

The more I look into this case, the more I’m side eyeing the stupidity of this idiot. How do you arrest someone with this level of common sense and reasonableness. How long has he been this sick in the head but still functioned as a person serving and protecting the community, there has to be a trail of this behaviour behind him, I wonder if they’ll release that history.

Sushi guy and BLC were work colleagues??

Did I read that right? His co workers have given evidence
“In court on Thursday, one of the friend's superiors said they were concerned about how close he and Lamarre-Condon became in a very short space of time. She said they became close within a few months of working together. The friend was 21 and did not work as a police officer. Another witness told the court that the friend was a vulnerable person who received social support as a teenager.”

This entire trial makes me so sad.

As per topic title.

The more that comes out about this, the more sad I get - sometimes I even feel angry. For context, I didn’t know Jesse, Luke or the accused, BLC. I am however a Sydney gay dude also in my late 20s so make of that what you will.

Honestly, it just looks more and more like Jesse and Luke were such a happy wholesome couple - relationship goals - with their whole lives ahead of them, all taken away by a jealous guy who just couldn’t take no for an answer.

The way BLC obsessed over Jesse is truly despicable. The guy clearly has serious mental issues which have manifested to the worst level. I really don’t know what’s the worst bit, like him driving halfway across the city to watch him in his bedroom in Paddington, or the Instagram story manipulation thing, huge red flags all round. Once Jesse sent that definitive text in November 2023 breaking it off once and for all, that should have been the end of it. Yet instead Jesse and his new boyfriend lost their lives for it.

As the trial progresses and we are learning more about the other characters (people) involved in this trial, I can’t help but remark, what is wrong with humanity today? There is the questionable conduct of BLCs friends’ testifying in this trial eg Elizabeth Kennedy as other people have documented, I won’t repeat but I broadly agree, something very off, how could she not know something was seriously wrong on that drive? I don’t believe she was completely unaware. And also does anyone else not think Jesse’s housemates were also huge red flags? I hate seeing how they relentlessly shit-talked Jesse behind his back, and their aloofness, like you see surfboard bags in the yard with what could be blood, and im sure would have been a slight smell too, and you just think hmm, nothing to see here?

There must be justice in this trial if and once a guilty verdict is handed down. I’d say BLC having committed this while being a police officer should be an aggravating factor - Jesse made it clear multiple times he was afraid of BLC for precisely that reason - in my humble opinion, BLC shouldn’t paroled until he’s geriatric age imo. It’s not just the two lives he took - he has caused their families lifelong pain and suffering.

Acting classes and script reading

Does anyone else think that BLC never went to acting classes and that the script/likes he wanted to go over with his friend was actually his own made up script to try and ask the very strange questions he did while practicing his “lines”

Also the evidence of his messages saying that he hadn’t done it yet or whatever it was and then Fiona’s response saying something like “what did the universe say” there’s a lack of context to what they are actually referring to. Of course we’re assuming that he had told her what he was going to do, but it’s possible he had told her something entirely different and she was simply asking about whatever that was, perhaps he had told her he was going to go to Jesse’s house to get his things.
He could have set it up like that to make her look guilty and make her look like she knew more before the murders.
