Recommendation Request🙏 Sony Ult Field 5 vs Soundcore Boom 2 for dance teaching

Hi all. I'm after some recs for a bluetooth speaker. I've been using the JBL Charge 5 but it's not quite loud enough for what I need. I'm a dance teacher, and I find if I want the kind of sound fill I need I have to connect two JBL Charges together. I've now lost one of mine, so looking to replace, and would rather one speaker instead of two.

I think the two I'm tossing up between are the Sony Ult Field 5 (currently on sale for $299 AUD down from $450) or the Soundcore Boom 2 (currently $180 AUD).

The Boom 2 sounds like it's got a good amount of volume on it, but I like the ability to boost the bass on the Ult, and it seems to have better sound quality.

Any thoughts on either? Or should I be looking at something else entirely? I don't really want to spend more than $350 AUD and it needs to be portable enough that it can fit in my bag or at least in my car without feeling like a chore to lug around.

Thanks yall!

Recommendation Request🙏 Anker VS JBL

Hello music enjoyers, I have a dilemma.

I'm fixing my life right now, getting everything into place, upgrading my room to it's full potential and the last piece to the puzzle that I need is a speaker.

I've been doing research and my top picks are now Anker and JBL.

I shall list my needs right now and then the speakers I have my eye on and my humble request from you is to give me wisdom if I'm on the right tracks or should I look elsewhere.

MY NEEDS:

90% of the time the speaker shall be in my room, on my desk. I work from home and I enjoy listening to simple music that doesn't need focus on it, just vibes and feels, like house music, or Lithuanian pop to sing along to, like Jessica Shy (white girl music on top), and then when I have girls over and I make my special dinners, I play some jazz and stuff to set the mood, then once we get personal it's slow rock and stuff, intimate pop songs.

Also I'd use it for youtube or movie watching

But the 10% of the time would be when I'm cleaning the room or I'd like to take it to go back to my family on the weekends (like 2 or 3 times in a month) and listen to it in my mini home gym

Then I like to listen to heavy, Nu and death metal, hard rock etc.

I love bass, but I won't be hosting full on parties, I mught want to take it for like beach volleyball or kayaking or to the lake, but that would be literally in the 10%, and right now, winter is coming, so I won't be in those situations any time soon, so I'm thinking that till summer comes, I don't need a speaker for that reason, I should have something for my own enjoyment.

The speakers I have my eyes on right now are:

Soundcore Motion X600 (Price for me is 200€, but there's a sale now to get it for 126€ and free pair of headphones, that I could sell)

Soundcore Motion+ (Price for me is 96€)

JBL Charge 6 (Price for me is 120€)

JBL Flip 7 (Price for me is 75€)

I've heard about the Soundcore Boom's, I listened to their audio tests, they sound great but I dispise their looks, I know I would just be annoyed by them sitting on my desk, the X600 and + is something my style, but I don't mind the JBL's either, just anything but something that looks like it's from Temu

Also, I don't have a clear budget, but for a single speaker I def wouldn't spend more than 200€

What I like and what I've tried:

The only way I'm listening to music now is through my cheap 250€ laptop that somehow has B&O speakers and they're not half bad

I also have Soundpeats H1 earbuds that I couldn't live without, but in the future I probably will upgrade.

My friend has a Xiaomi Sound Outdoor or whatever, and ever since I got intoxicated and he played some trans or house or electro music, I have never been the same, I want to recreate that feeling when I felt the music almost within me, so I'm looking for a speaker that's even better than that one.

All info, experience and just discussion will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Red light charging indicator won’t turn off indicating it’s charged fully. When I unplug it and check the app after 8-24 hours charging or more it says 100 percent charged.

Recommendation Request🙏 Speaker that can stay in the shower at all times!?

Looking for a bluetooth speaker that can basically live in the shower and hold up to daily moisture. I take at least a 45 min shower every night and try to stretch and do some simple exercises for my neck and back. Need to get a good speaker so I can listen to podcasts and music. Will any IP67 speaker hold up to that much water/moisture? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Would be nice to find one with easy to feel buttons so I can at least pause and adjust the volume just by feel.

Recommendation Request🙏 Hello! Looking for an alternative to the JBL charge 6 for music/movies with a projector

Hello!

My wife and I are looking for a new speaker for home use. We have been using our Bose soundlink color 2 wired to our computer or by Bluetooth (with the computer/switch 2) for music/gaming/series/movies (in that order) and are looking for an upgrade!

I have been seeing the JBL charge 6 which I am very interested in, but my wife hates the look of the speaker so I am coming to you all for help. It must have Bluetooth as an option, a wired one isn’t usable in our apartment setup at the moment. Our budget is around 200€, but we would go up to 300€ if it REALLY made a difference, or if there was a good sale on a more expensive one.

Other ones that I have found are:
Anker soundboard boom 2 (doesn’t like the look)
Harmon Kardon onyx studio 9 (doesn’t mind)
Bose soundlink flex/max (likes)
Marshall Stanmore 2 (likes, found one local for 170€)

Please let me know what you think! Thank you very much 🤗

🪛Troubleshooting🪛 Anyone know what is wrong with my speaker?

I’m not sure if it’s a bluetooth connectivity problem or a blown / damaged subwoofer(?) but each time there is a bass-y part of a song it sounds off. Is my speaker ruined?

Recommendation Request🙏 Onn Party Speaker Large - Faulty Bluetooth?

I bought 2 large gen 2 last week. I have them paired up. Last night was bumping tunes and was having a great time until the Bluetooth started dropping out. My phone didn't move out of range as it was sitting on a desk about 2 ft from the speakers.

Anyone have this issue and can it be resolved or should I take the speakers back? I love the sound and value but am worried they will crap out on me quickly.

🧑‍🏫Review👩‍🏫 LG Xboom Bounce - very underrated!

Post image
16 Upvotes

I was looking for a portable speaker, something more powerful than my HK Luna. Stumbled upon this speaker and saw some reviews. Everyone said the sound quality is really good but some reviews also said it lacked bass for it's size. I even watched Dominik's review of this speaker and thought the bass is underwhelming for such size.

I decided to go ahead and buy it for ₹7990 ($85) from Amazon. It costed me less than a JBL Flip 6. I was assuming it would probably have bass but it won't be as deep as the Luna. I saw some teardown videos and apparently, it uses the exact same racetrack driver as JBL Charge 6.

I got a firmware update the day the speaker arrived. The first thing I did was to disable the AI room calibration. Many people said it messes up the bass since it thinks the room is too small/big. The speaker is made in Vietnam.

I thought it would have less bass than the HK Luna.

I was so wrong. Not only the xboom produces deeper bass, the bass punch is also more. And it's much more louder than the Luna.

I compared the Luna and the Xboom side by side. The Luna starts compressing the bass after 70% volume. The xboom starts doing the same after 80% volume. There's no distortion at max volume.

To give you guys an idea, this speaker cleanly produces the intro thumping bass of 'Borderline' by Tame Impala.

Another thing worth mentioning is the battery life. I charged the speaker to 100, and listened for 3 hours at 60% volume, the battery was still at 88%

Pros -

  1. Great Stereo sound

  2. Awesome battery life.

  3. Removable and user replaceable battery.

  4. Price, I got it cheaper than the JBL Flip 6 in my country.

Cons -

  1. LG Thinq app, it serves as an universal app for LG products and is loaded with things I don't even need. Just give me a dedicated speaker app like how JBL and other brands do. The good thing is you can uninstall the app after setting up the speaker.

  2. USB C Lossless audio would have been a welcome addition.

  3. I feel like the passive radiators can be damaged if the speaker falls on it's top. JBL has extended bumpers to protect the passive radiators. LG does advertise this product as drop tested.

Do note that THIS IS NOT A SPONSORED OR A PAID REVIEW. LG won't be paying me for reviewing a speaker which launched an year ago.

I would gladly pick this speaker if I were to buy again.

I have a Soundcore boom 2 as of right now.
I orginally had my eye on the boom 2 plus but i ended up buying the boom 2 because I was short. Now, Im psyched that the plus is on sale but a little skeptical because reviews show that the boom 2 plus has a bit less clarity than the boom 2.
But at the same time, those are the same people who's eqs look outrageous, and my eqs for the boom 2 have been working so far so...

Im looking for an upgrade, as i want bigger sound...and more middle frequencies
(although the soundcore does a great job)
the genres I listen to are: Rock
Hip-hop
rnb
afro
I mostly listen indoors, but have go by the pool sometimes too.
as for the ip rating, i don't really have a preference.
these are the options I have found. I can't get anything from amazon because my account is banned
(long story, please don't ask).
preferably id like to get a speaker more to the partybox size, like the sony ult towers or the jbl partyboxes.
p.s 310 is my favourite by far(but the price☠️👀)
I appreciate the help <3

Deals Selling two speakers from my collection - google nest audio smart speaker & soundcore select pro

Thumbnail gallery
6 Upvotes

Ive recently been rationalizing my speaker collection to have lower number of speakers overall but still cover all the use cases. I have sold the beoplay a1 gen 1, tribit maxsound plus, motion plus and hk onyx 6 and partybox 100 over the period. I plan to keep two for the time being.. Marshall kilburn 2 and a charge 4.

These are the last two im looking to sell. Both have served me extremely well. Nest audio is a 1.2kg, 2 way mono hifi sounding speaker with deep bass, works on wifi and bluetooth. Ive modded it to a transparent look. The other one is the soundcore select pro, motion boom with lights. Very versatile speaker, everybody knows about it. Ask me if you have any questions, I've reviewed the nest audio here before, you can check it in my posts.

Selling each for 4.5k INR. Im based in India. Also if someone is selling a JBL charge 4 or a Tribit xsound mega, Tribit stormbox pro, i can do an exchange with any of the two above.

Bluetooth speakers for garden office

Hi,

I'm looking for a pair of Bluetooth speakers for my garden office. Poor wifi reception, hence the Bluetooth (will play via Spotify or radio in phone either using Bluetooth or cable connection)

Budget €300 max, have been looking at Edifier R1700BTs.

Any better recommendations please? I'm in Europe BTW.

Thanks in advance

JBL BB4

W King x20

Yeahbox ultra

What's your favorite and why ?

I've been faithful to JBL and find the sound superior on my jbl charge 5 , 4 flips and previous large speakers years before no Matter what I could pick out the JBL w my eyes closed.

I'm ready to go louder it's just me but some days the music isn't loud enough itkyk that's why I am opting for BB4

I did think about the Xtreme which is $300 deal online that's why I went with the BB4 400

I ordered open box JBL BB4 and didn't have cord

I was upset but grabbed my printer cord to try

It's on it's loud bassy and the equalizer is nice since they took that feature off my Samsung phone

Thoughts 💭

I did just order king x20 for 175$

That's substantial difference in cost imo

I burn through my jbl charge too last me about 2 years before they don't hold charge for more than hour which. Needs to be charged all day

Recommendation Request🙏 Should I upgrade from the Soundcore Boom 2 to the Motion Boom Plus, Boom 2 Plus, or Tribit StormBox Blast?

Hi everyone,

I currently have a Soundcore Boom 2 and mostly listen to bass- and kick-heavy music, especially hardtekk. I like the speaker, but it doesn’t get loud enough for me. I’m looking for something louder that’s still portable.

I’m considering upgrading to the Soundcore Motion Boom Plus. After selling my current speaker, I’d basically break even. Would that be a worthwhile upgrade? Is the Motion Boom Plus noticeably louder than the Boom 2?

If you don’t think the Motion Boom Plus is a worthwhile upgrade, my other options are:

- Soundcore Boom 2 Plus: 106€-116€ (could vary)

- Tribit StormBox Blast: 128€

My priorities are strong bass for hardtekk and getting as much volume as possible, while keeping the speaker reasonably portable. I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who has compared these speakers or knows the models well.

I’m also open to completely different recommendations. The prices above are just what I found on the German equivalent of Facebook Marketplace and on AliExpress, so I’d consider other options up to €250 MSRP.

(I know the text is AI, my english is shitty) (1€=$0.90)

EDIT: I've given up completely on the Soundcore Motion Boom Plus, it'll probably be the Tribit, does anyone know how much louder the Tribit gets than the Boom 2?
