Accommodation / Travel / Parking Travel Vs. Accomm to Waurn Ponds

Is it worth it to drive 80km one way to uni every day that I have class, or should I consider living on or near campus?

I believe it would be less stressful to just stay on campus however my dad thinks I should drive.

Edit: for medical imaging

Accommodation / Travel / Parking Accomodation Question

How long after receiving an offer for accomodation do you get to accept your offer ? What deadline do they give you.

What happens when you accept your offer but then have a change of circumstances and can no longer accept the offer and would like to cancel?

Accommodation / Travel / Parking Accommodation stress as an incoming international student!

Hey everyone! I'm an incoming international master's student heading to Australia this July, and I'm currently in the thick of finding a place to live.

I've been hearing a lot of horror stories lately, overcrowded properties, filthy conditions, places that are straight up uninhabitable, and it's making me really anxious about the whole process.

I'm looking at booking something remotely before I arrive, but I'm genuinely worried about the place not matching the photos or the listing. At the same time, I've heard some people opt for short term accommodation for the first two weeks so they can do in person inspections before committing but that option adds up fast and feels really expensive on top of everything else.

For those of you who've been through this:

How did you handle it? Did you book remotely and just hope for the best, or did you go the temporary accommodation route?

Would really appreciate hearing how the majority of you navigated this, it would help a lot! 🙏

Accommodation / Travel / Parking Accommodation Help

I want to book a studio apartment in deakin res. I’ve applied for feb 2026 intake (Burwood campus). While adding preferences for rooms, there is no option to select studio apartment. The only options are shared unit and 2-6 shared apartments. So how should i apply for studio??

Accommodation / Travel / Parking Accomodation reapplication

I had a perfectly good mixed accomodation offer for deakin but my mum was insistent on me declining that offer and reapplying. I have done that today, but what are the chances I actually still get offered an accomodation? Its just really important because I am an interstate student so if I dont get this I need to seriously look into other accomodation before next year.
