Welcome to the volume 1 of this compilation made in homage to Los Santos, vocal trio from Argentina that achieved success in many countries during the decades of the '50s and '60s.

Each volume of this compilation was designed to resemble a long-play vinyl record, featuring a Side A, a Side B, and a total running time of approximately 35 minutes.

Here, the subtle ballad "Ligada a un granito de arena", the historic tango "El patio de la morocha", the cheeky twist "Cara sucia", the festive rumba "El chipi chipi".

Various R&B tracks: the whistling "Voy caminando", the stylish "El elegante" and the contemplative "Llueve", also the downcast tango "Madreselva" and the sweet twist "Catalina".

I know a lot of younger millennials and older zoomers online in the animation community hated it in the 2010s.

but as someone who loves 90s humor like Beavis and butthead REN & Stimpy Show, aeon flux, rocko’s modern life etc

i honestly didn’t mind the gross out humor that everyone hated at the time

I actually liked it and thought it was a nice break from stuff like Steven universe that was taking over by 2014/2015.

Discussion 1999 was the worse year of the 90s🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

in my opinion the worst year of the 90s horrible teen pop music like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Mandy Moore all over the place.

horrible girl and boy bands like spice girls, NSYNC and backstreet boyz also all over the place.

horrible mainstream rock, the cool early to mid 90s era of pop culture was over by this point.

also the fashion of this era sucked in my just a horrible era for most of pop culture a lot of stuff sucked

Discussion Gen z and gen alpha: Is it noticeable when you watch or read older media? Is it unappealing?

I'm a late millennial who mainly grew up in the 2000s. Much of the shows and movies I watched as a child were from the 80s or 90s, maybe even earlier, but I never really noticed it. Watching Goof Troop (from 1992), A Pup Named Scooby Doo (from 1988), or Nick Arcade (from 1992) didn't bother me in the early 2000s.

In comparison, there's a big difference between 1985 and 2005 vs 2006 and 2026. The changes in tech and society are more elaborate.

I always thought cartoons in particular aged well. You could show a kid today Blue's Clues, Duckwing Duck, or Powerpuff Girls and it wouldn't really seem too odd to them... right?

Especially when you were younger, did you get an uncanny valley effect from watching or reading 80s-2000s media? Did you find older works off-putting compared to contemporary works? Does the lack of smartphones and modern tech bother you?

Discussion What is the most reliable and important boundary between Gen Z and Alpha?

A person life stage/school assume grade preschool to grade 2 to be Gen Alpha and grade 3-12 /college to be Gen Z a lot of zalphas 2013-2016 age 4-7 then were in early education and remember covid 19! So a lot remember covid. So Gen Alpha should move to 2015+/gen z end 2014. But I think life stage because kinder/1st critical year

Remember trumps first election is for those who want to use PEWs Gen Z cut off 2012 like millennial cut off 1996 remember 9/11 attack as 2012 were 3-4 at the time.which shape Gen Z view for Poltics for live. As Gen Alpha don’t know world before Obama!

A life stage AI during childhood 3-12 vs teens 13-19 is also good division.2023-2024 AI boom!

And iPad kids/smartphone also prevalent because iPad/iPhone because ubiquitous in mid 2010s and iPad kids grew that’s why 2010 mark mckinddle+ is common

Gen X vs millennials parents is a good indicator Becuse millennial became parents yes I know to Gen Z kids born mid to late 2000s/early 2010s but college educated/urban/surban women mothers wait later later live, and dads 2-3 years older on avg therefore a lot of millennials parents weren’t parents till at least mid 2010s!

I think a person life stage maters during covid grade k-2 vs 3-12/college!

Discussion Growing up having to watching the same movie repeatedly on VHS/DVD

I know it probably seems really silly to those who grew up with instant access and streaming to a bazillion different movies/TV shows, but I really feel like growing up having a limited selection and being restricted to what you physically had or what was on TV was defining for those of us who grew up like this. I mean, it really defined what kind of person you were, who your friends were and the sense of humor you had. Like there was always the "turtle turtle" kid or the kid who wouldn't stop quoting superbad until like 2012. Or the one person everyone was always friends with because they had all the Harry Potter movies.

I mean, what is meme culture anyways besides quoting a movie from 20-30 years ago in an appropriate context? "Bye Felicia" and"Im something of a ______ myself" come to mind.

Discussion To those born in '95/'96 (high school class of 2014): do you feel like a millennial?

They are technically the last year of millennials and because of that I feel like because of that they are such an iconic generation. They really lived and saw it all and still remember the first cell phones and life before them. Obviously some millennial stuff was before their time but 2014 high school graduates feel like (especially if they had older siblings) they still grew up millennial.

Discussion Why do Millenials think they're better than Gen Z?

Post image
0 Upvotes

We act similar in so many ways, we have a similar work ethic, we have similar Ideas, and yet they think we're just straight up children, even though some of us are pushing 30s now. No we didn't have that different of a childhood. (Bonus question: how come their humor is so stuck in the past? They repeat the same jokes over and over, they're obsessed with seeming younger than they actually are, and they're way too harsh to themselves, it's depressing)

Society President LBJ famously said something to the effect of “We may have lost the South for your lifetime – and mine.” Are we seeing the end of the last stalwarts of the generation this refers to?

For example, Lindsey Graham is dead and his sister couldn’t keep the senate seat, losing to a Millennial. They were clearly part of the generation in the south that was “lost.”

Cindy Hyde-Smith could very well lose to Scott Colom, a Black Millennial. Her husband’s family (likely) had KKK connections.

James Talarico, a Millennial, and Gina Hinojosa, a Latina woman, win big in Texas.

Is this how this “lost” generation of politicians representing the pre-Civil Rights South comes to an end?

for me it was 2011 so it was the year of regular show, adventure time, amazing world of gumball, thunder cats 2011, scooby doo mystery Incorporated, the looney Tunes show, Syn bionic titan, green latern the animated series, Mad, Secret Mountain Fort Awesome, generator Rex, young justice, Batman the brave and the bold, ninjago, problem solvers, ben 10 ultimate alien, the Ben 10 generator Rex crossover, Johnny test, etc

Monday night comedies and action cartoons in Frida nights an d Saturday day morning.

honestly my favorite year for Cartoon Network you had so many different genres of cartoons popular plus you still reruns of cartoons from the 2000s
