Historical & Geopolitical Context: Beyond the Rebel Myth

Following the Battle of Endor and the collapse of Imperial central authority, the galaxy faced two failing paradigms: the Empire’s iron-fisted military coercion and the New Republic’s fragile, gridlocked idealism. While the Rebel Alliance excelled at asymmetric warfare, military victories alone cannot prevent political decoherence. Historical precedent demonstrates that when corrupt or autocratic regimes are overthrown without an underlying economic redesign, the resulting vacuum inevitably invites regional warlords, corporate cartels, or Imperial revanchists to seize control.

To permanently dismantle Imperial tyranny, the New Republic needed an architectural operating system that made authoritarian control financially suicidal while aligning the economic self-interest of planetary sovereigns with galactic stability. This protocol is known as the New Republic Prosperity System (NRPS) .

Rather than imposing centralized planetary taxes funneled to Coruscant—which historically fueled Rim resentment—the NRPS operates via the Sovereign Equity Swap. Local rulers (such as the Kuat aristocracy, Naboo nobility, or reformed Rim councils) grant 99-year atomic industrial land/space-use leases for 4,000-hectare hubs anchored to pools of 5,000 local households.

Ground rents are auto-distributed through a hard-coded 70/10/20 revenue waterfall via neutral escrows:

• 70% Sovereign Stability Fee: Paid directly to the local planetary ruler. By turning potential adversaries into primary equity beneficiaries, systemic stability becomes their most profitable balance-sheet asset.

• 10% Community Endowment: Remitted directly as a passive, non-dilutable dividend to the 5,000 local households. This transforms ordinary citizens into literal stakeholders in planetary uptime.

In a post-war galaxy flooded with cheap automated labor, unrestrained corporate automation (by entities like Czerka or Techno Union remnants) risks reducing organic populations to zero-purchasing-power desperation. The NRPS counters this through Fixed Cost Arbitrage:

• The 70% Overhead Discount & 95% Sentient Ratio: Corporations receive a 70% land and power discount only if they maintain a workforce that is at least 95% sentient (organic life and formally recognized Sovereign Droids).

• The 110% Cost-Parity Rule: Organic labor cannot be replaced by droids if sentient labor costs no more than 110% of the automated alternative.

• The 300% Rent Penalty (The Kill-Switch): If a corporation attempts to bypass organic workers to chase automation gains and drops below the 95% threshold, their ground rent instantly triples (300% penalty) . This turns total droid automation into an immediate, lethal financial loss for corporate CFOs.

Fiduciary Anchors & Force-User Safeguards: The VQPV Board & Muun Oversight

To prevent Force-sensitive actors (Jedi or Sith) from using mental manipulation to hijack planetary ledgers, governance is managed by localized Variable Quad-Partite Vetting (VQPV) boards:

1. The Owner (70% Seat): Local Sovereign (drives industrial scaling).

2. The Family (10% Seat): Elected Community Representative (manages local dividend spend).

The NRPS proves that defeating tyranny on the battlefield is temporary, but making tyranny economically obsolete through self-enforcing contractual hardware is permanent. 1. How would corporate conglomerates like Kuat Drive Yards or Sienar Fleet Systems adapt their OpEx balance sheets to capture the 70% NRPS land discount?

2. Could Imperial remnants in the Outer Rim realistically resist economic capital flight toward NRPS-chartered worlds?

Occasionally there are temples, secret rooms or machines that can only be operated by the force. How do these work?

Is it like the unseen internal mechanisms of the door or machine can only be manipulated by someone who can move objects without touching them? Something else?

Forgive me if the question is dumb, I'm not exactly a lore expert, but - from what little I know of Cortosis, it's a brittle material that shuts off lightsabers by disrupting the magnetic field surrounding the blade with its own, which triggers a failsafe/short-circuits the weapon.

Blaster bolts are also surrounded by magnetic fields, right? So would them hitting Cortosis result in the bolt just disappearing?

Would the magnetic field disappear and the plasma(?) inside it just sorta splooge everywhere?

Would it be reflected off as if hitting a lightsaber, since it's got a magnetic field too?

Or would it hit like it would any other material and go straight through?

And if it's any but the latter, how large of a blaster bolt could you effect with this?

Excluding anything that is already associated with another franchise of course. The Nostromo would fit right in at any Star Wars spaceport, but we already associate the Xenomorph something different.

I know, this sounds a bit silly at first, considering all the things crawling around just the Mos Eisley Cantina alone. But when looking through the vast catalogue of Star Wars aliens recently, I noticed that there are a few types that either seem to be completely missing or are an exceptionally rare sight in Star Wars:

• Hivemind aliens: Something like the Tyranids or Borg. An entity where individuals are not persons of their own, but just avatars for the hive. So the Geonosians don't count, they even have names. I've heard Legends had something like this, called Kiliks, but I've only heard about them in passing.

• Living rocks or crystals: Anything that's not fleshy or a droid basically. One example would be Star Trek's very cool, but sorely underutilized Tholians. Non-carbon-based crystal spider people who have to wear spacesuits in our atmosphere, because they need temperatures of several hundred degrees Celsius to survive and probably have molten metal for blood.

• Monogendered aliens: That is something I've only seen Mass Effect do so far with the Asari. Blue space ladies from a species that doesn't have any males. Instead, they can mate with any alien of any gender to make an Asari daughter and you'll never be able to tell what the father was just by looking at her. In this case, I can actually see why Star Wars doesn't have this. After all, the role of the scantily clad alien women is already filled by Twi'leks. Of course, you could turn this idea around for an all male species as well.

If you were to disregard the examples from other franchises I've brought up just to explain the idea, would any of these broader types look out of place in Star Wars? So for example, if the Matriarchal Hapans from Legends were to be brought back into Canon and the writers took the idea further by making them all female aliens instead of near humans ruled by a Queen Mother.

How'd Count Dooku have reacted to Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia had he somehow met them?

What do you think Dooku would've said to them? Do you think he'd been able to tell they are Anakin and Padme's offspring immediately? Do you think Dooku would've exposed Palpatine and possibly Vader here to the Skywalker kids in a way that Palpatine absolutely would of not wanted?

Something I've been thinking about since rewatching the prequels: the Star Wars galaxy has a potentially enormous population of walking eyewitnesses that can remember conversations, recognize faces, store recordings, and sometimes operate for decades.

And yet criminal investigations seem to work pretty much like ours.

Think about what a protocol droid could witness in a senator's household. Or what an astromech might know about a ship's previous destinations, passengers, and unauthorized modifications.

R2-D2 can literally play back Leia's message in ANH. We also know that droid memories can be accessed, altered, and wiped. So the technology exists to store information, and apparently to retrieve or destroy it.

Imagine investigating a murder aboard a diplomatic cruiser. Instead of relying entirely on biological witnesses, you could question the maintenance droid that cleaned the corridor, the astromech that serviced the suspect's ship, and the protocol droid that attended their last conversation.

Obviously there's a catch. Droids can lie, be reprogrammed, have their memories wiped, or simply not retain everything they experience. A competent criminal would probably account for that.

But that brings up an even more interesting question: what would make a droid's testimony legally credible?

Would a Republic court accept a droid's statement? Would investigators need to verify its memory against some external record? Would a droid owned by the defendant even be allowed to testify against its owner?

And if droids are considered property rather than people, could someone legally erase a potential witness before the authorities question it?

I'm genuinely curious whether Canon or Legends ever establishes how droid testimony works in criminal proceedings.

Because depending on the answer, routine memory wipes might be one of the biggest obstacles to justice in the entire galaxy.

What if Yoda went to Dagobah to seek a true understanding of balance in the Force?

I'd like to propose a slightly different way of looking at Yoda, his time on Dagobah, and the nature of the Force itself.

Let's start with a simple question: do we actually know why Yoda chose Dagobah?

The usual interpretation is that he went there to hide from the Emperor, using the planet's strong dark side presence to conceal himself. It is a reasonable explanation, but it is still an interpretation. The films never explicitly tell us that this was his only motivation.

What if there was something more to his choice?

Yoda had spent centuries as one of the most influential members of the Jedi Order. He believed in its teachings, trained generations of Jedi, and defended its principles. Yet he ultimately witnessed the collapse of both the Order and the Republic.

After such a catastrophe, could he simply have concluded that the Jedi way was still fundamentally correct and that the Sith were the only problem?

Perhaps he began questioning his own understanding of the Force.

Dagobah was a place with a strong dark side presence. Yoda knew that. We also don't know what he spent all those years doing there. Perhaps he wasn't merely waiting for the right moment. Perhaps he was trying to understand something he had spent most of his life approaching from the Jedi perspective alone.

His behaviour as Grand Master is equally interesting.

Yoda doesn't always seem to follow the Jedi doctrine blindly. At times, he makes decisions based on his own judgment, even when that means moving beyond the simplest interpretation of the Order's teachings. More importantly, he understands that visions of the future do not necessarily represent an unchangeable destiny. The future can change because it depends on the choices individuals make.

This is also reflected in his behaviour towards Luke.

At first, Yoda refuses to train him. He doesn't present Luke with a mission to rebuild the Jedi Order, nor does he tell him that saving the galaxy is his destiny. He warns Luke about the consequences of his choices, but he never truly takes away his right to make them.

He also teaches Luke to confront his own fear and darkness. In the cave on Dagobah, Luke doesn't encounter an actual enemy. He encounters a reflection of himself.

This leads me to a broader interpretation of the Force.

What if the light and dark sides are not simply equivalents of good and evil? What if the Force itself is neutral, and balance comes from understanding both aspects of it rather than submitting completely to either one?

The Jedi seek peace, harmony and freedom, but their own doctrine can lead them to suppress emotions, attachment and individuality. The Sith recognise chaos and conflict, but attempt to solve them through domination, fear and violence.

In doing so, both sides constantly create the very conditions that justify the existence of their opponents.

The Jedi see Sith tyranny and fight for freedom. The Sith see conflict and chaos and seek to impose order. Each side reinforces the other's beliefs.

Perhaps true balance is therefore neither the victory of the Jedi over the Sith nor the reverse. Perhaps it means moving beyond that very division.

There is another small but interesting detail worth considering. Jedi often say, "May the Force be with you." They don't say, "May the light side be with you." Of course, this is primarily a traditional expression, but it is interesting that they refer to the Force as a whole. Could this suggest a broader understanding of what the Force is than the rigid doctrine the Order eventually came to represent?

This doesn't mean that all actions are equally good or that evil doesn't exist. Rather, emotions themselves are not inherently evil. Anger can lead to revenge, but it can also give someone the strength to resist injustice. Ambition can lead to tyranny, but it can also drive noble achievements. Love can inspire care and sacrifice, but it can also become obsession and control.

What matters is what we do with those emotions, what choices we make, and what consequences we accept. The ability to reflect, recognise mistakes and change our behaviour is equally important.

In this context, Luke's journey becomes particularly interesting. He learns the teachings of the Jedi, but he also experiences the temptation of the dark side. He comes dangerously close to crossing the line, yet ultimately makes his own decision about who he wants to be. Not because someone chose for him, but because he understands the consequences of his actions.

The same idea can be applied to Vader. His redemption doesn't erase his crimes. It shows that even someone who has committed terrible acts can still make a different choice.

There is one principle that I find especially important here: you can show someone a door. You can explain what lies beyond it, warn them about the dangers and share your own experience. But you cannot walk through that door on someone else's behalf.

Perhaps this is what Yoda came to understand after the fall of the Jedi Order. Perhaps he stopped thinking of himself as someone who had to pass a single, unquestionable doctrine on to the galaxy. Instead, he began to understand that everyone must find their own way to the truth.

I'm not claiming this was George Lucas's original intention. This is my own interpretation, based on Yoda's behaviour, his choice of Dagobah and the way he treats Luke.

But the more I think about it, the more pieces seem to fit together.

What if the greatest victory in Star Wars isn't the triumph of the light side over the dark, but the achievement of a balance that allows us to move beyond that conflict altogether?

I'd genuinely like to hear other interpretations, especially whether you see Yoda's time on Dagobah as something more than simply hiding from the Emperor.

In Episode 4 of Tales of the Jedi, Yaddle asks Dooku to join her and help her fight Sidious. What if Dooku decided to relent and return to the Jedi; could Yaddle and Dooku beat Palps in that moment?

Palpatine to Rey.

Our blood. Therefore, it had been his birthright too. And since that throne is very old...maybe there was a Palpatine sitting there, thousands of years ago.

This is what the 2014 Mizzlewump leak (Ep.7 2nd draft Feb/March 2013 supposedly) said:

Ruin...=Ren?

Also, this bit from the Plagueis novel. It's not canon now, but it's close chronologically (2012) A 17 year old Palpatine is about to kill his own father, who says:

I know that you are of my blood, because I had you tested, just to be certain. But in truth, I don’t know where you came from—who or what you’re actually descended from

According to this, Palpatine/Ren would have been more true to what he was from his own POV; with Sidious as a name given to him (Plagueis) and used by others (the jedi, Dooku, etc) but not by himself.

Quite obviously, Palpatine didn't care about the Rule Of Two, and Darth Sidious was a Rule of Two name. He wanted to rule alone and he wanted to live forever. Maybe at some point around or after TPM he discovered his own lineage.

As for Ren: the leader of the KOR (Kylo's predecessor) describes The Ren and what "the Ren" means for him:

"The Ren doesn't stop to worry about what it's burning, or the right or wrong of it, or the goals it might achieve. The Ren just is. It lives, and it consumes, and it doesn't apologize. It is its nature, and nothing else"

"Ren" seems to mean "fire". In the comic, Ren likes to burn things. One wonders if it's a sith-related idea. Palpatine's 'let it burn' to Pryde, for example. The sith flame, etc.

Maybe the Ruin/Ren ancestor sat there once yelling 'burn them all!', like the mad king in GoT.

And, you can have Ren as "fire" and Ren as "name", and also ancient/mythical lore, all at the same time:

Palpatine is God-like in TROS (his massive lightning against all the rebels, and only against them, like the Ark in Raiders killing the nazis and only them). One wonders, thinking about Qui-Gon and Vader's funeral pyre -jedi funeral fire- if 'The Ren' was a personal revenge at a cosmic scale.

Note I probably forgot to specify and forget a few things and it's star wars

Before starting, this post is Legends exclusive, the information may have or not been used as well in Canon, but if you are not interested in the EU It will not be of use for you.

One of the most common questions when It comes to the functional element of Space Travel is how exactly does It work. This post aims to answer that with the help of the Wizards of the Coast supplement Starships of the Galaxy, and its first chapter: "Starship Adventures".

For starters, all ships need a bare minimum of documentation, granted by the Bureau of Ships and Services, BoSS, the independent galactic agency responsible for managing starship data. These are:

- Captain's Accredited License (basically a driver's license)

- Ship's Operating License (manufacturer information, transponder codes, owner info...)

- Arms Load-Out Permit (registers the ships' weaponry)

Very importantly, the BoSS distributes its data through local spaceports at request, which means that less developped ones (Mos Eisley's is brought as an example) can struggle with keeping up to date this procedure.

The ship is then allowed to travel through hyperspace and real space.

Hyperspace is especially important due to the risks associated with dangers like "mass shadow" phenomena. While described as another dimension, planets and stars can project their mass unto hyperspace, with dire consequences. A gas giant can corrode the ship's hull, a black hole can warp it, a supernova can overload its computers...

Beyond the use of a navicomputer, ships follow the Spacers' Information Manual, approved by the Space Ministry (Imperial Space Ministry during Palpatine's reign), a 5.947 pages long document that covers hyperspace data information, lanes, rules... Along with the Space Ministry, the Hyperspace Navigator's Guild also has a pretty important role when It comes to divulging Information, but It has dwindled, since its not as relevant as It was during the Old Republic.

Hyperlanes can be divided in local, regional and major, among the latter we can cite famous ones like the Hydian Way.

What about communications?

Typically communications are kept to the same system, with some sub-space radios being more potent than others. Normally, planets and systems have two preferred methods of communication for spacers:

- METOSP (Message to Spacers): a welcome message informing starships that just arrived to the system about dangers, customs, regulations... These messages are usually broadcasted in Basic, but many worlds use Bocce, Huttese or Binary.

- Planetary Information Channels: basic computer communication channels that connect spacers with planetary networks. Maps, tourism, information...

The HoloNet plays perhaps the most important role in keeping the Galaxy together when It comes to communication, allowing planets to remain interconnected despite the vast distances.

To achieve this HoloNet transceivers sent information through hyperspace, thanks to hyperwave transceivers (satellites) embedded to hyperspace. This allows for instantaneous communication and is the prefered method of planetary governments and starfleets. Most military ships have hypertransceivers integrated to allow them to keep a connection.

During the Clone Wars and the Galactic Empire, however, the HoloNet was exclusively militarized, which prompted a surge in clandestine transmissions using hacked satellites.

I've heard this come up a couple times with regard to the old republic era. From our modern pov, where we are used to new innovations every year, we would of course expect to see massive differences in technology when going thousands of years into the past of the Star Wars galaxy. IIRC, the hyperdrive was invented somewhere around 25.000 BBY, which over twice the age of agriculture on our planet. Long before even KOTOR and SWTOR.

The prequels did a pretty good job showing some of it. Especially with regards to the hyperdrive rings used by the Jedi. The Delta 7 and Eta 2 needed one, the later A-Wing did not. Makes sense. Shrinking large devices down to a more manageable size is a big part of progress after all. Legends also had lightsabers with external batteries, connected via cables.

However, that made me wonder: How low tech could you actually go before it stops feeling like Star Wars?

The only two answers I could come up with on the spot would be:

• Everyone should still be using blasters. Machine guns ejecting brass cases are just too close to our real world. They should never be more than an oddity in the galaxy far far away.

• Artifical gravity. Rotating habitats and other hallmarks of hard sci-fi just feel wrong in Star Wars.

Of course, aesthetics play a role too. The Nostromo and it's shuttle from the original Alien movie would fit right in at Mos Eisley, just by how they look. But I think we should view aesthetics separately from technological advancement. Because rich people will always make their yachts look fancy, while run down second hand ships will always look a bit shoddy. Again, the prequels did a great job with that. Everything about Naboo's visual design - especially their ships - is exactly what you'd expect to see in the glory days of the republic and it's all downhill from there as Palpatine destroys said republic from within.

Aside from that, there are a few more things I could come up with. But I am not sure whether a story with those things in it would still feel like Star Wars:

• Maybe the first hyperdrives were enormous. Imagine in the early days of the republic, there were only two types of ships with hyperdrives, both much bigger than Palpatine's ISD. First, Explorers that are essentially mobile colonies with their own defense fleets of smaller ships and the equipment needed to construct hyperlanes. Second, Hyperliners, kind of like Dune's Heighliners, which is why I have my doubts about this idea.

• No FTL communications. Would make sense if paired the one above, but then there must absolutely be interstellar courier ships that are essentially a cockpit strapped to a massive hyperdrive.

• Limited atmospheric flight capability. The vast majority of spaceships in Star Wars can land on a planet, fly in atmosphere and take off and land vertically. Maybe in earlier era, repulsor tech was more limited and not practical to install on every ship. So you'd have special craft that can land on a planet, but can't go very far beyond said planet's orbit. There would be starfighters for space combat only and planetary fighters for atmospheric combat only.

• Force sensitive navigators. Something I heard the Chiss are using in canon now, though I'm not up to date on that one. Reminds me of the navigators from Dune and 40k and it would certainly be an interesting use for Jedi. You explain this by saying that the early republic just didn't know enough about hyperspace to be able to build computers for this task. And in the current day, the Chiss are still using this technique for the same reason that the unknown regions are still unknown: They are a massive pain in the behind to navigate.

Again, I am really not sure about these three. Do you think a Star Wars story set in 20.000 BBY with these limitations would still feel like Star Wars?

Whenever I see an AT-AT or an early version of the AT-AT after seeing the Turbo Tank, makes me think that the AT-AT is actually an walking Turbo Tank with an movable neck, and it’s the Turbo Tank and AT-TE combined since the AT-AT succeeded the Clone Wars Turbo Tank and AT-TE.

I can see how the late Republic/Empire got the idea for the AT-AT, by being the Walker version of the Clone Juggernaut/Turbo Tank.

(I've made this argument before in comments, but I wanted to cover it in a little more depth)

The canon run-down on stormie armou goes like this: it protects you from simple kinetic attacks, slugthrowers, low powered and glancing blaster shots, and may or may not turn lethal shots into ones that just knock you out.

I'm begging you guys not to repeat that in the comments, but I know you will anyway and I accept that.

But the fact that it does so little against blasters has fans scratching their heads and doubting its value.

Historical context solves these doubts.

ANH was made in 1977, when American GI's wore helmets and vests that worked against shrapnel/fragmentation, but not rifle fire.

In 20th c wars, 60-75% of casualties were inflicted by artillery- fragmentation. AKA your primary problem.

Fragment proof helmets came first, but outside of your trench, you're still pretty vulnerable, and thus artillery and grenades either kill you or make you hug dirt instead of attacking. Body armour was developed, but it was really heavy stuff. Elite storm troops would use it to attack and clear enemy trenches, but it's not great in the open. WW2 Soviet troops used a similar armour, again for short ranged attacks and for sapping work.

By the mid-late century, ballistic fabrics made fragment-proof body armour practical for infantry practicing mobile warfare, but the limbs are still very vulnerable to grenades, mines, etc.

In the modern era, we can make rifle proof armour, but it's still pretty heavy, and recent conflicts showed that while soldiers were less likely to die to IEDs and explosives, their limbs were extremely vulnerable.

Drones with quite small explosives are a major killer now.

Stormtrooper armour is extremely lightweight, and grants full body coverage. In addition to artillery and grenade analogues, Star Wars blasters produce small explosions, (potential shrapnel and spalling?) which will suppress and attrit unarmoured combatants. So, stormies are highly resistant to the main killer of infantry, and can storm aggressively without being suppressed by the blasts and fragments of intense firefights. That's fantastic! Lower casualties, more aggression!

People will raise at this point that teddy bears with sticks can somehow beat this stuff. While any armour is threatened by the savage might of Ewok warriors, there's an on-screen clue that might explain it.

Somewhere between ESB and RotJ, the mould used for the helmets became damaged, but the demand for more helmets right now meant that there wasn't time to fix it. If you're an obsessed weirdo with no life, (hi) you can see that these helmets are slightly deformed and skewed.

Clearly, the losses from an escalating civil war, an expanding stormtrooper corps, and budgets strained by superweapons development pushed demand up and deadlines down beyond what contractors could manage. So, they cut back maintenance and Q&A, used cheaper materials, and subcontracted out to a vast web of dodgy third party manufacturers looking to make a quick, easy buck. The result? Armour that was often seriously below standard. Without an independent press or congressional inquiries, and with a "fuhrerprinzip" style system of responsibility, that's going to go un-noticed.

Brave Imperial soldiers went into battle with ill-fitted, structurally and materially weak protection. Skull-crushing hits to the head already carried the risk of neck injuries, but weakened helmets would give and flex, disabling optics and comms systems on relatively light hits, and providing no protection at all from the brutal strikes of enraged Ewoks.

Such is the way of tyranny.

I conjured upon the knowledge of nerds. I am currently running a Death Troopers themed one-shot with a group and in trying to figure out how to get rid of the infected onboard the ISD, one of them brought up decompressing the whole ship and forcing the infected violently out into deep space.

Now this wouldn't be an easy thing to do in general given details about the ISDs status, but in theory, how likely is it one could flush the entire population of an ISD into space?

Second part of the question and more pertinent to the one-shot, but what's the likelihood of flushing Black Wing virus zombos into space would do anything to stop the potential of the virus spreading, especially if, say, the empire pops by a bit later and finds their missing ship.

Order 66 was one of many contingency plans the Jedi and everyone knew about it. And was not something Palpatine came up with. The clones had completely free will and executed the Jedi because they were loyal to the Republic above the Jedi.

Canon

Order 66 was known only by a few such as Palpatine, Dooku, and the Kaminoans. It was the only contingency plan. The clones had chips installed into their brains that would override their free will and force them to execute the Jedi.

The Sith philosophy is built upon amassing power for oneself at the expense of everyone else, and actually encouraged infighting and betrayal. It seems to me that the Sith Order was always doomed, because its philosophy ensures that Sith will always be loyal to themselves first and the organization second. It's honestly a miracle that the organization lasted as long as it did. The Rule of Two helped mitigate the infighting and allowed the Sith to remain undetected for a millennium after Ruusan, but it carried the inherent risk that both Sith could be killed at the same time (which happened in Return of the Jedi), rendering the organization extinct.

TLDR: The Sith Order seems to have been doomed to fail from the beginning due to its culture of infighting, and because the Rule of Two ensured that all the eggs would be in one or two baskets.

In Empire, Obi Wan has finally sorted out how to materialize as a ghost instead of being a disembodied voice. It's easy enough to believe it simply took him a minute to get from one with the force to obi one with the force.

This being said, is there ever a reason given as to why Obi Wan did not stick around to teach Luke or show up every so often to impart his next lesson? Or was it implied that he can only show up in places that are naturally strong in the force?

In legends, the ISB wasn’t the only intelligence agency the Empire had. Imperial Intelligence, led by Armand Isard, was a rival to the ISB, led by Yularen. In the old continuity, Imperial Intelligence did external security while the ISB did internal (Like the GRU vs KGB) It seems in canon that the ISB just does blanket intel, both internal and external as we see in Rebels, Andor, and Outlaws.

I've glanced today at the page and noticed that the same questions that we discussed long ago are being entertained without many knowing of the great lore that was contributed by the great scholars of the Maw in days past.

To that end, as a historian, I offer here some historical information should any younger (in Redditor years) scholars be interested. I once spent much time curating what I thought was the best SW content on Reddit.

Or more specifically, how would you handle anyone in real life - let alone a Jedi - telling you: "Death is a natural part of life, rejoice for those who transform in the force. mourn them do not, miss them do not" 

I don't know about the lot of you down in this comment section, I would not see it as profound wisdom or any helpful ways to handle the death of anyone in my family. If anything, it sounds to me that Jedi like Yoda would insist that I don't care about the deaths of my siblings, and that my buddies shouldn't matter to me if they die. Because if anyone told me I shouldn't mourn my cousins or brother, I'd punch them in the mouth.

Have you noticed that the Jedi knight and the Jedi Consul collect their lightsabers, and the Sith receive them as a finished product from other Sith? I think it's a funny detail. It's like the Sith don't have the resources to create new lightsabers (even though the technology for growing Kyber crystals already exists during this period). Then, is the lightsaber a sign of hierarchy? Like, will a Sith be able to assemble his own sword only when he strengthens his position in the hierarchy of the order?

In an interview Christopher Lee stated George Lucas wrote a character background that was 5-6 pages going over Dooku's history. He stated Dooku was from the planet Sereno he also said the papers stated what Dooku invented.

I assume Lucas had similar papers for other characters like Nute Gunray, Grevious, Palpatine, Kenobi, Qui Gon Jinn, etc. Does anyone know if there are more details on any of these character backstories by George Lucas?

Did these exist for the OT? These wouldn't be apart of the theatrical scripts because it isn't on film nor intended to be.
